MINUTES OF THE FACULTY MEETING


July 24, 2016 (Friday), 8:00 am, Office

PRESENT:

The meeting was started at about 8:00 in the morning. After which, the meeting focused on
the following:

School Improvement Planning - shall be in effect from (S.Y. 2015-2016 & 2016-2017)

1. Low English Literacy – To be able to address the needs of the students with low in English. Train
the students to be more well verse in reading. Study habits, effects of media and gadgets, wrong
choice of peers, poverty and child labor making the concentration of children divided and
disturb.

2. High Absenteeism–To be to lessen or eliminate absenteeism towards students and to motivate


students to attend classes every day.

3. Drop-out- To be able to lessenor if necessary eliminatedrop-out rate. Encourage students to


continue and finish studies. Social media, family upbringing, family problem and financial aspects
are root cause.

4. Flooding – To be able to address the flooding problem inside the school vicinity.

5. Lack of Professional Development- To be able to address the needs of the teachers in


professional growth.

There being no other matters to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 in the morning.

NARRATIVE REPORT
July 24, 2016 (Friday), 8:00 am, Office

The School Improvement Plan of Botao National High School was c o n c e p t u a l i z e d a n d


framed in response to and in adherence to RA 9155 also known as
t h e Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001 which states that:“Consistent with the national
educational policies, plans and standards, the schoolheads shall have authority, accountability and
responsibility for the following:(1) Setting the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the school;(2)
Creating an environment within the school that is conducive to teaching and learning
(3) Implementing the school curriculum and being accountable for higher learningoutcomes;(4)
Developing the school education program and school improvement plan;(5) Offering educational
programs, projects and services which provide equitableopportunities for all learners in the
community;Good school governance entails great responsibility pursuing for greater possibilities
of improvement. The formulation of an SIP caters the total development
and improvement of theschool through shared responsibilities of the school and the community
it serves. It is along thisline that the school tapped all the stakeholders for a collaborative endeavor
to attain the standardsset by the School Planning Team (SPT) among and between the pupils,
teachers, parents, schoolhead and the community.This document was realized through the
collaborative efforts of the School PlanningTeam who include: Mr. Elvira C. Idos, school
head; Mrs. Myrabeth S. Garcia,Faculty President, Mr. John Bruan,President of the Parents-
Teachers Association; MR. Samuel Palaganas, Barangay Captain, Mr. Alfredo
Palaganas, BDRRMC Chairman, Mr. Joseph Cruz, CPP Chairman and Unick S.
Nastor,SSG Pesident.This was prepared in a thorough consultation with the above-mentioned
stakeholders last July 24, 2016.
Theypainstakinglyidentified the school’s situation through SWOT analysis
a n d o t h e r m e t h o d , i d e n t i f i e d t h e school’s goals and objectives, and the schools’ priorities
in the next three years.The SIP shall serve as the guide for the school head in managing
the school taking intoconsideration the different goals and objectives in every area of the
educational system. This isalso a good source of information for the stakeholders, on
which area, goal and objective theycan extend assistance to the school head, in
particular, and the school in general. The school head, using this document, may
make representations and create linkages to would be benefactors and other persons
who would be extending assistance to the school in realizing the goals and objectives
stated herein.
