I. TITLEOF THE PROOJECT:


“TRAINING WORKSHOP ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT”

II. BACKGROUND /RATIONALE

Gender and Development has a great impact in attaining quality


and effective education. Teachers will be aware on how social norms and power
structures impact on the live and opportunities available to different groups of
men and women. Understand that men and women , boys and girls experience
poverty differently and face different barriers in accessing services, economic
resources , political opportunities and great opportunities in education.

In line with this, Lawacamulag Elementary School Staff would like to


adhere on Gender and Development so that they can raise awareness on its importance
in achieving quality education.

This training workshop is in support of the gender and development


programs of the Department of Education and the Schools Divison of Tarlac Province.

III. TRAINING OBJECTIVES


1. Enhance teachers’ knowledge and skills as prime movers of Gender and
Development.
2. Raise teachers; awareness on the importance of Gender and Development in
education; health and governance.
3. Strenghthen advocacy in the integration of gender and development in the
classroom.
4. Identify sex and gender roles, eliminate sex –role stereotyping and promote gender
equity and quality.

VIII. FUNDING SOURCE:

Source of this fund shall be taken from the MOOE Fund of the School amounting to
P5150.00 as specified in the School Operating Budget Work and Financial Plan

Activities
X. MONITORING AND EVALUATION
The training manager will monitor the different activities during the Training Workshop.
There will be series of Workshop after the different lectures and discussion.

X. EXPECTED OUTPUT
The expected outputs in this two day workshop are as follows:
1. Enhance teachers’ awareness on the importance of Gender and Development in
Education , health and governance.
2. Strengthened the advocacy in the integration of gender and development in the
teaching and learning process.
