METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

The research design refers to the strategies that you choose for integrating the

different components of the study. It is a set of methods and processes for collecting and

analyzing statistical data. The study of designing, evaluate the process and products that

must meet the expectation of the researcher. Developmental research is use to assess the

changes in a period of time. With this, the study of the process and the impact of specific

instructional design will be improved through the efforts and consistent development of

the study.

The researchers able to conceptualized a machine called Portable Tea, Syrup and

Candy Maker. The effectiveness of the machine is based on the thorough treatment of the

materials, tools, and equipments used, the corrective implementation on the process and

the effort that was exerted. With the proper execution of the process, it involves machine

designing and measuring how efficient the machine was. With this machine, researchers

are able to produce an output that sustain or provide nutrients to the body who consumed

the product.

The process, input and output had undergo experimentation and acquired

feedback for the improvement this study.


MATERIALS AND PROCEDURE

Materials: The materials to be used for the construction of the portable tea, syrup and

candy maker and the estimated cost are listed in the table 1.

Tools and Equipment: the tools and equipment used for assembling and constructing the

machine are listed on table 2 with their corresponding function.

Tools and Equipment Functions

Welding Machine Is a machine use for jointing metals using

welding rod or solenoid rod.

Power Drill It is a power tool for machine with a

rotating cutting tip.

Rivet It is used to interlock aluminum bars.

Screw Driver It is a tool us to tighten screws in the frame.

Metal saw It is a tool us for cutting metal.

Grinder Use for smoothen the welded area.


Procedure:

The researchers gathered ideas and information’s for developing the portable tea,

syrup and candy maker. After gathering those information, researchers came up on

developing a machine to satisfy that ideas.

The researchers conceptualize a machine for developing portable tea, syrup and

candy maker. The researchers conceptualize a design which it has a heating and drying at

the same time, heating where the tea and syrup will produce and drying for producing

candy. This machine is powered by electricity to powered the electric stove for heating

and for drying.

Food Processing: For evaluating the product of Portable tea, syrup and candy maker, the

procedure on boiling and drying of the product.

Boiling / pre-heating

Put the water on the machine, wait until the water boils before putting the ginger.

After putting the ginger, wait until the water change its color then remove the ginger in to

bowl. The removed ginger will be process to make a candy. The machine pre-heated the

bowl of water by hot coils of the electric stove.


For drying (positioning of the product to be dried)

The position of the product to be dried must be spaced depending of the size of

the ginger. The screen cartridge are filled with products that are evenly spaced and it will

insert to the machine.

For drying (dehydrating)

After pre-heating and heat transfer on the machine, the water content of the

product to be dried will removed and turn into moisture by a constant heating process.

For harvesting dried product

When the desired dryness of the product is attain after a minutes, then pull out

screen cartridge

For Harvesting tea and syrup

After the ginger is extracted on the bowl of boiled water, the water will become

tea. And on the other bowl put a sugar on it and boil it to become syrup. After all of this

was done, gently pull out the bowls and put the product on a container.

Definition of Mechanism:

The portable tea, syrup and candy maker is a machine used to produce a 3 (three)

product, wherein a certain fruit of vegetables is processed to produce a tea, syrup and

candy. This machine is powered by electricity that provides heat for heating and drying.
This machine is design for home and market use. This machine is just like a

double burner gas stove inside but instead of gas stove we use electric stove as a source

of heat for the purpose of light in weight or easy to carry around.

Instrumentation and Data Gathering

The instruments to be used for gathering or collecting were observation, timer and

questioners which were answered by ten to fifteen consumers serves respondent of the

study and evaluators specially, four Professional Mechanical Engineer, and one Chemical

Engineer who will assist us for this machine.
