TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Mail Service :

1. Unable to send or receive emails from a domain with mailbox hosted on axigen e.g zoppa.org.zw

• create a test account on the domain on axigen webadmin and test sending and receiving
before troubleshooting configurations on client's oulook.

If test account is sending and receiving, proceed and troubleshoot outlook settings with client.
• First of all check if client's machine is on the internet or tell client to telnet 41.221.159.162
25, it must show smtp connected 220.........
• check account settings, incoming server settings --- incoming.ai.co.zw/41.221.159.162,
outgoing server settings ---- outgoing.ai.co.zw/41.221.159.162, and make sure username is
client's full email address test@zoppa.org.zw and password is password as provided.
• take note of error messages client is getting also remember to troubleshoot with a disabled
antivirus(advise client to configure antivirus firewall to allow email connection)

If test account is not sending and receiving, proceed to check if domain is properly configured in
MX servers.
• Inbound mail servers – ssh into mx1.ai.co.zw(nemo) and mx2.ai.co.zw(madagascar),
username/password will be provided for each individual.
Then put command ...... nemo~# vi /etc/postfix/transport please google linux vi commands
search for your domain : /zoppa and make sure it is relayed to axigen server IP
41.221.159.162 (If client has own mail server make sure the correct server IP is set)
Do the same in the relay-domains file...... nemo~# vi /etc/postfix/relay_domains, /zoppa,
make sure its set as zoppa.org.zw ok

• Outbound mail servers – ssh into mx3.ai.co.zw(alvin) and 41.221.144.12(pinnochio),

username/password will be provided for each individual.
Then put command ...... gw~# vi /etc/postfix/access, search for your domain /zoppa , make
sure its set as zoppa.org.zw ok

In the mail servers check logs to see if mail is flowing:

tail -f /var/log/maillog | grep zoppa, check delay time, status(sent/deferred/bounce),

postqueue -p ........... check mail queue
postqueue -f ............ flush or push emails
postfix reload

If all fails please escalate

2. Servers

• Hotspot Server ------ ssh into 41.221.148.142/10.1.0.1, username/password

smc/5MCservers .runs mysql database, chilli and freeradius, if clients are not connecting
restart freeradius services root@afrihotspotserver:~# service freeradius restart

mulan server is a Virtual Machine hosted on wolverine(10.70.85.69)

the Virtual Machine is started manually in case of power failure. Ssh into wolverine
