Determine : i) When the velocity is zero and () ii) The position and the total distance travelled when the acceleration becomes zero. (8) (OR) b) A body of weight 1 KN is on the horizontal surface of a table. The weight is connected to another body of weight 2 KN by a string passing over a smooth pulley fixed at the corner of the table. The coefficient of friction between 1 KN weight and the table surface is 0.20. If the system is released from rest, find the velocity of the 2 kN weight after it has moved 1.2 m using the work- energy method. (Refer Fig, 15 b) Fig. 15b (AOE LA 5 40023 PART —C (1x15=15 Marks) 16. a) Two bodies A and B weighing 1000 N and 800 N respectively placed on an inclined plane are connected by a string, which is parallel to the plane as shown in Fig. 16a. Find the inclination of the plane at which these blocks just start to slide down. Take Ht = 0.2 for surfaces in contact. Fig. 16a (OR) ) An airplane of mass 2000 kg is tested on the ground and found that the propeller thrust of F = 4000 N is developed on it through its mass center, G. Its main wheels at Q are arrested not to move and the tail wheel at P has no brake and it is free to move in x-direction. Determine the percentage change in the normal forces at P and Q as compared with the respective engine off condition reactions. (Refer Fig. 16b)
