EXT. OUTSIDE IN THE FIELDS- NIGHT

MS

JORDAN'S perspective as he talks to ROWAN on the phone.

JORDAN
(Sighs)
CU Fine, fine. You're right.

MS

He nods and ends his call...

WS

Jordan heads through the fields where GRAYSON waits next to

the truck. Upon seeing him Grayson smiles and puts down his
phone as well.

MS

GRAYSON
Hey...

MS

JORDAN
(Clearly nervous)
Hi. Uh- Can we talk for a second?

MCU

GRAYSON
(Equally nervous)
Yeah, yeah of course. I kinda needed
to talk to you too.

WS

They sit on the bed of Jordan's truck.

MS

JORDAN
You should go first.

MS

GRAYSON
Uh, okay. But I'm telling you right
now that I think it's best you go
first.

JORDAN
(Flustered)
Okay, okay. Let's just go together.
Count of three.

Grayson nods and they begin counting.

GRAYSON
One.

JORDAN
(Nerves growing)
Two.

GRAYSON
(Softly)
Three.

CU

As they reach three both guys reveal their engagement rings

and stare in awe.

JORDAN
(Shocked and Confused)
Wait, what?

GRAYSON
(Awkward)
How? Rowan said you-

TOGETHER
Rowan.

JORDAN
I'm so going to kill her for this.

GRAYSON
Before you do.
(Stares into his eyes)
Is that a yes?

CU
 3.

JORDAN
(Rolls his eyes and throws up his
ring)
I don't know, is it?

MCU

They smile at the same time.

FADE OUT

EXT. JORDAN'S TRUCK ON THE ROAD- NIGHT

FADE IN

MWS

The guys head home.

DISSOLVE TO

MS

Grayson laughs then looks straight ahead.

EXT. JORDAN'S TRUCK ON THE ROAD- NIGHT

Grayson watches in terror as another vehicle, a little bigger

if not the same size, swerves out of control heading towards
them.

MS

GRAYSON
(Sitting up)
Jordan watch-!

Before Jordan can react the outside vehicle hits their

truck...

The sound of the crash. The shattering glass and distant

sirens.

FADE OUT

INT. HOSPITAL- DAY

SMASH IN

ECU
 4.

Grayson's eyes flutter open revealing his location. He sits

up noticing the medication and calmness of the hospital. He
lays back knowing he can't go anywhere. Suddenly the door
opens and enters DOCTOR MARTIN, a middle aged man, with a
clipboard.

MWS

DOCTOR MARTIN
Ah, you're awake. Good.
(Shutting the door behind him
before coming up to Grayson)

GRAYSON
Where's Jordan? Is he okay?

DOCTOR MARTIN
He's doing fine. It's not him you
should be worried about Grayson.

MCU

GRAYSON
(Taken aback)
What?

DOCTOR MARTIN
While you were out I ran some tests,
when the paramedics found you, well
rather rescued you. You had an asthma
attack and with the large amount of
carbon monoxide you inhaled...

GRAYSON
What were the results?

DOCTOR MARTIN
(Sighs)
You have a serious pulmonary disease.
Your lungs seem to be failing.

GRAYSON
(Shocked)
What does this mean for me?

MS
 5.

DOCTOR MARTIN
We plan to have you back by the end of
the week so we can perform an official
examination of your lungs just to
diagnose and treat the problem
quickly. But...
(DOCTOR MARTIN pauses)
It's very, very hard to treat and most
importantly survive.

GRAYSON
(His eyes turning red, he resists
the urge to cry)
Can I leave? Can I please see Jordan?
I mean especially if I'm going to be
dead soon.

Doctor Martin is shocked by his words, he nods and Grayson

leaves.

INT. HOSPITAL- DAY

MWS

A hopeful and optimistic, Rowan watches as NURSE ANNE gives

Jordan, weak and obviously dying, his pain medicine.

MCU

NURSE ANNE
There you go. Let me know if you need
anything.

WS

Jordan nods weakly and Nurse Ann leaves.

MCU

ROWAN
(Spirits high)
So how do you feel?

JORDAN
Like I just got into a car accident.

ROWAN
Well this obviously proves that I'm
the better driver.

JORDAN
Please, if anything you're the worst
sister for not telling me.

ROWAN
Whoops.

WS

Before Jordan can say anything Grayson enters.

MWS

GRAYSON
Jordan?

WS

Both Jordan and Rowan light up. Rowan gives Grayson a gentle
hug.

MCU

ROWAN
I'm gonna go get some water while you
two catch up.
(She winks before leaving)

MCU

GRAYSON
(Holding Jordan in his arms)
I'm so glad you're okay.

CU

JORDAN
(Holding onto Grayson's arm as a
tear slips down his cheek)
Gray...
(Grayson looks up at Jordan)
I'm so sorry.

MCU

GRAYSON
It's okay. Drunk drivers are
everywhere-
 7.

JORDAN
(Shaking his head)
Gray. I'm in so much pain.
(His face has gone pale)
I can't.

GRAYSON
(Getting scared)
No. No, Jordan you're a fighter don't
even think like that.

JORDAN
(Smiles)
Tell Rowan I said I love her.

GRAYSON
No! I won't lose you.

JORDAN
You'll never lose me. Just keep
holding on.

A tear falls down Grayson's cheek as Jordan unplugs his own

life support...

MWS

(Slow motion) Grayson reaches over to restore Jordan but his

breathing fails him and he fails. Jordan lies in his arms as
he screams...

WS

Nurse Ann, Doctor Martin, and Rowan return in a hurry.

CU

Rowan's glass of water falls to the ground as Doctor Martin

and Nurse Ann rush to save an already dead Jordan.

Grayson cries with Jordan in his arms.

FADE OUT

6 DAYS LATER INT. ROWAN'S HOUSE MORNING

WS

Rowan looks through an old photo album of her and Jordan when
they were younger and eventually when they befriended
Grayson.

MWS

Across from her is Grayson, looking weaker and his cough has
gotten worse.

MS

ROWAN
(Breaking the silence)
Grayson.
(Pauses)
It's been days since you've said a
word.

GRAYSON
(Stares at her)
What do you want me to say?

ROWAN
(Thrilled to hear his voice)
Literally anything. We've got each
other, we need to make the most of it.

GRAYSON
(Snickers)

ROWAN
Grayson this is serious. We have bills
to be paid and with Jordan, who was
most our income, now gone-

CU

GRAYSON
(Coughs)
He's not gone.

MS

ROWAN
That's not what I meant Gray. I don't
know what to do, what are we going to
do?

GRAYSON
Rowan. There's something I didn't tell
you.
 9.

ROWAN
(Sarcastic)
What, what else do you want to add to
my stress? Are you going to die too?

MCU

Grayson pauses in fear. Rowan looks up to him, noticing the

possible reality of her statement then sits up.

CU

ROWAN
Grayson, what aren't you telling me?

MCU

GRAYSON
I'm going in for treatment for my
lungs tomorrow.
(Coughs)
Doc. says I have a deadly lung
problem, from the accident.

ROWAN
(Tears falling down her face)
You had this whole time, and you tell
me on my possible last day with you.
(Sitting in stress)
I could be losing both of you in the
span of a week.

GRAYSON
(Kneeling next to Rowan)
You won't lose me. And you haven't
lost Jordan. I have an idea.

CU

Rowan looks at Grayson, her eyes red. Grayson smiles weakly

at her.

EXT. CEMETERY- AFTERNOON

WS

Rowan appears, in a white dress with a basket of roses. She

drops them on the ground as she walks towards her brothers
gravestone.

WS

Behind her Grayson appears in all white formal attire. He's

even more weak as he walks down the floral path to Jordan's
grave.

MS

GRAYSON
(At the end of the path he
embraces Rowan)
Thank you. For everything.
(She holds onto him tightly before
they separate)

MCU

ROWAN
I know that this is exactly how he
would've wanted it.
(Examining the area covered in
roses and lilacs)
Now.
(Wiping away her tears)
I'm getting too emotional let's do
this.

Grayson nods.

He stands in front of Jordan's grave and kneels to place down

his engagement ring while wearing his own. He coughs as he
pulls out a piece of paper.

MCU

GRAYSON
Jordan although you aren't physically
here I know that you are in my heart.
And I hope you are happy with how this
came out.
(Rowan smiles as he reads)
The day I met you, that night. We both
lived different lives. But now three
years later, we connect and unite as
one. You are my best friend, my
inspiration, my desire, my love.
(Pauses)
Everyday without you feels like a
punishment, and everyday with you
feels like heaven on earth.
(Tears forming)
Today I ask of you to join me as we

embark on our next adventure, an

adventure that's just ours. No hate,
no fear, no loss, only dreams and
everlasting love.

As he reads his voice becomes a voice over.

WS

Grayson and Rowan leave a white rose on Jordan's grave as

they leave.

GRAYSON (V.O)
I, Grayson Johnson, promise to value
and treat you like the royalty that
you are. I promise to-

MCU

Grayson arrives at the hospital where Doctor Martin and Nurse

Anne welcome him. The door closes separating Rowan's and
Grayson's eye contact.

GRAYSON (V.O)
Suffer the sorrows and celebrate the
successes with you. To always be
patient, kind, and forgiving. To
protect, embrace, and honor you. But
most of all, I promise to stand by
your side forever because I love you,
Jordan Clark, with all my heart.

Grayson strokes his engagement rings as the final line is

said

Down the path a figure walks down. It's Rowan.

MCU

She kneels setting down two white roses onto each of the
graves.

ROWAN
Well Grayson, looks like you were
right. This isn't the end.

Rowan strokes the couples engagement rings which now rest on

her fingers.

MS

As she does the apparitions of Jordan and Grayson appear

behind her, both healthy and happy. Joined together as they
watch over Rowan.

ROWAN
Only the beginning.
