How do you know this person: my mom’s cousin

2) What does a typical day look like in this career?

Prep food for orders, prep gear for cooking, cook, serve, and clean.

3) What skills and abilities do you need to succeed in this career?

You need to know how to cook properly, be good with people and to keep a fast but
steady pace.

4) What are some facts you learned about this career that you were unaware of prior to
this experience?

I did not know how early you have to wake up to make sure everything is prepared for
the day. I also did not know that in his line of work there was a big emphasis on
assembly line teamwork.

5) Which aspects of this career did you find appealing? Explain

My cousin told me even though there are stressful times, catering overall is more
enjoyable than other types of jobs.

6) Which aspect of this career are not appealing to you? Explain

I did not like that with his type of work, you are on your feet all day with little rest.

7) How does this career compare to your strengths , interests, and values? Is it a good fit
for? Explain.

After reviewing my strengths, interests, and values I can conclude that I will make it as a
chef because it lines up with my expectations and needs.

8) How has this experience influenced your career goals?


It has influenced my career goals in a positive way because being able to see what a
chef does in his day to day made it more real for me to become a chef and I truly believe
I can become a chef.
