1.3 Location of fire water pump house:

Location of the New Fire Water Pump House shown in the Scope of Work document
was surveyed. As the location is roughly 150M away from the existing CT-07 Sea water
Intake chamber, the sea water supply pipes would have to be larger to maintain required
velocity and the cost of installation of the pipes (or box channels) also would be higher
besides the issues associated with deep excavation for such a long distance within an
operating facility.
It was decided to look for alternative locations for the Fire Water Pump house and the
space between the existing Control Tower (3004-H) and CT #7 fence was surveyed for
checking the feasibility of locating the New Pump House.

Refer attached Plot Plan drawing OVERALL PLOT PLAN FOR BERTH #6 – area
marked as Option-1

SNAP-1 PUMP HOUSE OPTION-01

Following points were observed in this location:

1) Space available in this location is about 14 M x 16 M.

2) Transformers and siren, above ground & underground electrical cables (Power
and control) are present in this area. Feasibility of relocating the above items
need to be reviewed and confirmed with QP.
3) Topographical survey of this area needs to be reviewed to check the presence
of any underground services / structures which could come in the way of locating
Pump House in his area.

1.4 Foam solution tank, pumps and foam solution proportioning skid / new fire
water pump house

Space available between existing Control Room (3001-K) and existing Foam
Proportioning House (3003-H was surveyed for checking the feasibility of locating either
the New Fire Water Pump House or New Foam Tank and Proportioning Skid house.
Refer attached Plot Plan drawing OVERALL PLOT PLAN FOR BERTH #6 marked as
Option-2.
SNAP-2 PUMP HOUSE OPTION-02

Following points were observed in this location:

1) Diesel Generator (3031ZJ) House, Electrical JBs and underground cables are
existing in this area. Feasibility of relocating the DG and the electrical JBs and
cables need to be reviewed and confirmed with QP.
2) Above ground Instrument cable tray to Control room is located to the West of this
area. Necessary care and protection measures to be adopted during construction
of any facility in this area.
3) Topographical survey of this area needs to be reviewed to check the presence
of any underground services / structures which could come in the way of locating
Pump House in his area.
4) The area available in this location is approximately 24 M X 16 M.

1.5 Survey of existing foam tank and proportioning pumps skid

Existing Foam solution tank was visually inspected and seems to be in good condition.
Feasibility of retaining the existing Foam solution tank may be considered by Loss
Prevention and confirmed by carrying out remaining life assessment. Besides reducing
the cost of the project, this option would also solve the problem of finding space for the
Foam system. New foam solution proportioning valves and foam solution pumps skid
can be located by extending the shelter to the North or existing skid can be replaced at
the same location if the new skid is of the same size and the shut-down window required
for the installation is acceptable.

1.6 Survey of existing sea water intake and fire water pumps in berth #7

Existing Sea Water Intake chamber in Berth #7 was surveyed. As the fire water pump
house for Berth #7 is located above the Intake camber, sea water intake tie-in at this
chamber would disrupt the operation of the fire water system in Berth #7 until the tie-in
is completed and the pump house is restored to original condition.

Figure 3 – Existing Pump House - East
1.7 Location of new fire control room

The area east of existing Foam Proportioning House was surveyed for locating the new
Fire Control Room. If the Foam solution is transported by drums or ISO containers, there
should be no problem in handling the foam loading operation. This location of Control
Room needs to be confirmed by FERA study / by LPE. The proposed location of New
Fire Control Room is marked in attached Plot Plan drawing OVERALL PLOT PLAN FOR
BERTH #6 option-1.

SNAP-3 CONTROL OPTION-01

Alternatively, area north of the existing oil Control room can be considered as Option-2
for locating New Fire Control Room.
SNAP-4 CONTROL OPTION-02

1.8 Location of foam tower monitors:

The number and safe location of Foam Tower Monitors need to be confirmed by Loss
Prevention. There is adequate space near (East / West of) existing Foam Towers for
locating the new Foam Monitor Towers if the locations are acceptable to Loss
Prevention.

Routing of Foam piping to Foam Towers on the South side of the road was surveyed
and the obstructions to install piping on sleepers due to operation / maintenance access
for the Electrical DBs/ JBs, Metering Skids and Loading/ Unloading arms are highlighted
in the attached Plot Plan drawing. In these areas, it is possible to install Foam piping
and Fire water piping at elevation of about 3M on structural pipe supports.

1.9 Fire water main and foam lines routing:

Fire Water ring mains routing was surveyed and it was observed that except the Jetty
area, space is generally available for routing the Fire water ring mains either
underground or aboveground. In the current system, only deluge lines for the Foam
Monitors are installed in the jetty area and Fire Water ring main is not available. Refer
point 1.8 for possible routing of Fire Water ring main, if required in new system.

The possibility of routing the Foam piping on the Jetty side was checked at site and
noticed that space was not available for routing the pipe either on ground or elevated
structure in the Metering skid and Loading arms area.
SPACE CONSTRAINT AREA

1.10 Sprinkler pipe routing:

The sprinkler piping inside the Pipeline Terminal shelter for the Sphere Launchers /
Receivers are located above the equipment they serve and installed along the center
lines of the equipment.

The new sprinkler system shall be designed for installation without affecting the
operation of the Pipeline Terminal and replacing existing sprinkler piping in the same
location (within shelter) can be considered as an option.

1.11 Outcome and summary of site survey

During the site survey, possible locations and constraints for locating major facilities
such as Fire Water Pump House, Foam Proportioning House and Fire Control Room
have been investigated and information / details gathered for further detailed study. The
information / details obtained during the survey are adequate to proceed with preliminary
Plot Plan options and develop proposed routing of Fire water and Foam piping based
on P&IDs. The preliminary design will be validated and updated based on Topographical
survey inputs and results of FERA studies and HSE inputs.
