MEDIA CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL

LACK OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS IN BANAY BANAY LIPA CITY

What is traffic light?

Traffic lights, also known as traffic signals, traffic lamps, traffic semaphore, signal
lights, stop lights, are signaling devices positioned at road intersections, pedestrian
crossings, and other locations to control flows of traffic.

Benefits of Traffic Lights

Signals offer maximum control at intersections. They relay messages of both

what to do and what not to do. The primary function of any traffic signal is to assign
right-of-way to conflicting movements of traffic at an intersection. This is done by
permitting conflicting streams of traffic to share the same intersection by means of time
separation. By alternately assigning right of way to various traffic movements, signals
provide for the orderly movement of conflicting flows. They may interrupt extremely
heavy flows to permit the crossing of minor movements that could not otherwise move
safely through an intersection.

I. The Problem

Absence of traffic lights at the stretch connecting Banay Banay and roads along
the highway of Mataasnakahoy is leading to traffic chaos. It has also resulted in a
number of road accidents. With the influx of low to high cost subdivisions, multinational
companies, international and national shops, and schools, Lipa City is drawing more
people & vehicles and is creating a growing issue on TRAFFIC.
In unofficial survey in skyscrapercity forum, it is believed that Lipa City is already ahead
of Batangas City in terms of population and will continue to be on top as the year
passes by if growth rate in the past years will remain the same or pattern will continue to
increase.
The once peaceful and in order City of Lipa is fastly becoming a highly urbanized and
important City of CALABARZON with enormous economic developments in the last 15
years. With these progression, it seems that Traffic has never foreseen or if it was there
has never been any rightful solution yet that was implemented.
II. Proposed Solution

Since there is no traffic light along the road to Mataasnakahoy and Banay banay,
the researcher would to imply this situation to the City Hall of Lipa so that there will be a
corresponding action to the issue.

III. Justification

The researcher would like to use the poster because this is the only way to
inform people that we should need traffic lights in the banay banay roads so that there
was no more accident.

IV. Anticipated Question and Answer

1. If you are one of the drivers that pass along the road to Banay Banay road, are you
agree to this proposed solution?

Yes, because it is for the safe of all people that passing along the roads.

2. Are you aware of the possibilities that some of the drivers will not follow the traffic
lights?

Yes, but there should have a consequences to those who disobeyed the traffic
rules.

3. Do you think that having a traffic light will lessen the accidents on that road?

Yes, because the traffic light lessens minor and major accidents because it helps
control the traffic.

V. CALL TO ACTION

FOLLOW THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS,

FOR YOU TO BE ALRIGHT.
