Investigating Newton’s First Law of Motion

I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of this activity, you should be able to demonstrate Newton’s First Law of Motion

II. MATERIALS:

1 Ruler
5 pcs. (1peso-coin)

III. PROCEDURE
A. Stack of Coins
1.Stack the coins on a flat level surface.
2.Quickly hit the coin at the bottom with the edge of the ruler. Observe what happens to the stack of
coins and then record your observation.
IV Guide Questions:

1. What happens when you hit the coin at the bottom? Why is this so?
2. Where does the coin at the bottom go? How about the other remaining coins?

Investigating Newton’s First Law of Motion

I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of this activity, you should be able to demonstrate Newton’s First Law of Motion

II. MATERIALS:

1 boiled egg , 1 raw egg, 1Plate, 1 platform balance

III.PROCEDURE
1.Get the mass of the boiled egg and the raw egg.
2. Place the boil egg on the plate. Observe what happen.
3. Rotate the egg using your hand. Obseve what happen.
4. Repeat the procedure for the raw egg.

1. Which has a greater mass? the boiled egg?or the raw egg?
2. How fast is the movement of raw egg compare to the boiled egg?
3. What is the relationship of the mass and the movement of the egg .
