State GDP crossed USD 80 billion in 2013-14,
registering a CAGR of 9% in comparison with 2004-05.

Industrial Policy 2014
The Industrial Policy 2014 is aligned to the objectives laid
out in Vision 2023. Several incentives and subsidies have
been announced as a part of this Industrial Policy.
Capital subsidy and electricity tax exemption New or
expansion manufacturing units will be given a back-
ended capital subsidy and electricity tax exemption on
power purchased from TANGEDCO.
50% Stamp duty concession on lease or sale of land for
projects located in industrial parks promoted by
SIPCOT.
Environmental protection infrastrucutre subsidy for
Dedicated Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and/or
Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage and Display
Facility (HWTSDF) set up by individual manufacturing
units.
Structured incentive package for mega projects
Additional incentives for southern districts

The vision for Tamil Nadu for 2023 is to become India’s most

Successful Joint Ventures of TIDCO

TNRDC
TNRDC has been formed to develop, finance, build,
operate, maintain and manage highway systems, design
and engineering for integrated toll road management of
highways.
(2)RajivGandhiSalai(ITCorridor)Project.
This project is to implement improvement and widening
of existing road and also provision of service lane, non-
Motorised Vehicle lane/ Foot path, Centre Median,
Service Ducts/Trenches along the entire stretch of the
project road.
In Phase-I the 20.1 km. stretch between Madhya Kailash
Temple Junction and Siruseri and 2.1 km. long ECR Link
Road has been improved.
In Phase-II, the stretch between Siruseri and
Mamallapuram will be improved. Land acquisition work
is under progress.

Upcoming Projects of TIDCO
AerospaceParkProject
With the view to support the development of Aerospace
Industries, the State Government announced in the year
2009-10 that the Aerospace Park will be established in
the State.
To achieve the objective of the announcement the
following approach has been adopted:
i) Securing SEZ status and expansion of the existing
limited facility of Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd.
in Hosur.
ii) Development of the Aircrafts' Component
Manufacturing Park in around 100 acres near
Sriperumbudur.
iii) Setting up of an MRO facility near Chennai Airport in
around 50 acres.
iv) Establishing an Integrated Aerospace Park in
Perambalur in around 3,000 acres.

PLASTICINDUSTRIESPARK
TIDCO is establishing a Plastic Industries Park in about
306 acres of land in Ponneri, Thiruvallur District with an
investment of about Rs.294 crores in association with
SIPCOT.
As per the Policy announced by the Department of
Chemicals and Petrochemicals, this Project will be
eligible for grant funding by GoI upto 50% of the project
cost not exceeding Rs.40 crs per project.
This Polymer Industries Park will have infrastructure
required to accommodate about 84 medium and small
scale plastic components manufacturing units.
SPV for implementing the Plastic Industries Park was
incorporated in the name of “Tamil Nadu Polymers
Industries Park Ltd (TPIPL)” as a J V Company of TIDCO
and SIPCOT on 01.04.2015.
The Dept. of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, GoI has
granted final approval for this project.
MoA was signed with Dept of Chemicals and
Petrochemicals by TIDCO, SIPCOT and TPIPL on
24.11.2016 in New Delhi.
The Dept. of Chemicals and Petrochemicals released a
sum of Rs.3.89 Crores as a part of the first installment
grant of Rs.8.00 Crores, out of the total sanctioned grant
amount of Rs.40.00 Crore to TPIPL under the scheme

Environment Impact Assessment have been completed.
Hon’ble Chief Minister has laid the foundation stone for
this project on 29.01.2016.
Construction work is in progress.
The project is scheduled for completion by September
2018.

HEAVYENGINEERINGHUB
A Heavy Engineering Components Manufacture Hub is
being established in area of about 700 acres in the
Ponneri, Tiruvallur District at an estimated cost of about
Rs.700 crores.
This hub is to be developed as a special investment area
for the Shipbuilding support units, electrical and other
engineering industry including Auto Component
Industry sectors.
TIDCO is in the process of preparing the Detailed Project
Report for this project. The Land acquisition is in
progress
NATIONALINVESTMENTAND
MANUFACTURINGZONE(NIMZ)
TIDCO has planned to establish a NIMZ in the
Ramanathapuram District under the National
Investment Manufacturing Policy notified by Govt. of
India in November, 2011.
Total investment required is estimated at about Rs.7090
crs. Funds support proposed from GoI and GoTN are
estimated up to Rs.6,940 crs and Rs.150 crs respectively.
State Govt. received an In-principle approval from GoI
for this project in February, 2015.
TIDCO has completed a Techno-Economic Feasibility
Study on this project in December 2015. This study
report will be forwarded to Department of Industrial
Policy and Promotion, Government of India for
obtaining final approval for this project.

ELCOT which was registered in the year 1977 has been
rendering valuable services to various Departments of the
Government of Tamil Nadu, Public Sector Undertakings /
Boards in Tamil Nadu in the fields of Electronics and
Information Technology in particular. The role of ELCOT in
the recent years has been mainly to act as the procurement
agency for the Government of Tamil Nadu, Public Sector
Undertakings / Boards for the procurement and supply of
the IT and IT related products and the scope of the
procurement services is expected to increase substantially
in the years to come.
