ROBLE, GABRIELLERUTH M.

12 STEM 4

An educational tour is a fun – filled experience. As the tour may be

too far away places, it is an opportunity for students to have a jolly
time together. For some days they can forget about classes and
homework and exams. The travel by bus or train, with students
singing songs and making merry while indulgent teachers look on, is
an unforgettable experience. The saddest part is coming back home
to the same old routine.

Educational trips offer an uncommon opportunity to perform

hands-on learning. Last March 14, 2019, it wasn’t just a normal
Thursday for us Senior High school students of Trinity University of
Asia but an eventful one. Our first itinerary was ‘Mind Museum’ at
BGC Taguig City. I learned more by myself and was actually glad to
be part of the STEM strand because majority of what I’ve seen from
the museum was related to Science especially Biology and a little of
Chemistry. I could recall some of the lessons that were taught to us
by our professors from last year’s Earth Science and Chemistry 1. It
feels so nice to just add few more things about what I know and
learn a lot of new things that I know will contribute a lot to my
chosen career path which will definitely revolve around Science.

The second itinerary was the most challenging, under the

scorching heat of the sun at around 1-2 PM walking
around the ‘Gourmet Farm’ located at Silang Cavite.
Different herbs like oregano, mint and rosemary were
introduced to us. Farm animals like native pigs, goats and
carabaos were present during the trip too. I am fond of
vegetables so even the farm made us all sweat, I tried my
best not to miss out on any information being shared to us
by the tour guide and I even greeted some of the farmers
who are harvesting eagerly under the sun. Although I am
not planning to take agriculture, it is important for my
section, Allied Health for some of us could be interested in
Herbal Medicine or Pharmacy, agriculture is a big part.

The last itinerary was the place I enjoyed the most which is
Enchanted Kingdom at Laguna. It’s my 4th or 5th time visiting that
amusement park; it never fails to bring out the kid in me. My
tiredness from walking all day was suddenly gone and it was nice
to see co-trinitians all over the place as if we picked the best day
to go there. I could say that this part of our trip was our rest
from the past three quarters and this serves as our motivation
for our last push towards the end of this school year aka
graduation for us grade 12 students. Thank you for making my
first and last educational trip in Trinity University of Asia
possible. Everything will be stored in my memories. Til next time.
