Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity. Before this activity is given, we have discussed the rules and tactics of tchoukball. The
students have been practicing for several days and have also experienced live gameplay.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☒ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☒ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: The students will be given a link and passcode
to join the Kahoot. Laptops will be provided for all students. The quiz will take no longer than 10 minutes and
the students have the rest of the time to play live games of tchoukball. The students will answer each

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10 questions
required):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not? I want the students to learn the rules of the game and tactics for improved gameplay.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? After the activity, I will review with the students their
answers. I will emphasize the questions that were most missed. I will then ask them how they felt about the
quiz. Were they confident, did they know most of the answers, and what helped them feel prepared for the
quiz. After this, we will begin gameplay.

How will the data be used? I will use the data to teach the students about what they struggled most on. We
will review as a class. As mentioned previously, I will emphasize a few main points of the quiz that they
answered incorrectly. I will them ask them questions after the quiz is completed to see how they felt about it.
The quiz will not be graded, but their gameplay will be graded at a later point and the quiz will help them
improve.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. I am trying to gauge the students’ total knowledge of
the game of tchoukball after a few days of skills practice and gameplay. I am using Kahoot, a student response
tool that I have never used before. I am hoping I can become more comfortable with the software and
implement it into my future lessons.

Reflective Practice: I think this activity will not only give the students a chance to test their knowledge and
perhaps learn a new useful tactic, but also allow them some break time from constant gameplay. It will be a
nice change of pace and maybe even add some passion to their gameplay. This activity will be great for
students who do not learn as well kinesthetically.
