About Rai University

Rai University is committed to inclusion and innovation in education through philanthropy and
pioneering initiatives.
Established by Gujarat State Legislature under Gujarat Act No. 12 of 2012, Rai University provides
world class education and empowering opportunities for all sections of society. We are especially
attentive to the needs of the underprivileged. We have a special outreach through extensive
Scholarships toward deserving girl students and rural youth. These scholarships offer full tuition
fee waiver for a wide array of degree programs offered on-campus as well as online through a
state-of-the-art platform. There are yet more scholarships that provide completely free boarding
and lodging as well for those who need it most. Thousands of less privileged girls from India and
abroad have been educated under this scholarship program. We aim to provide large
opportunities to less privileged students, who too have many dreams but lack the means to fulfill
them. All are welcome to nominate less privileged girl students from local regions to be
considered for this scholarship program.

Rai University is also a pioneer in ushering in innovative learning practices that build skills,
develop inventive thinking, enhance employability as well as foster an entrepreneurial mindset.
We promote interdisciplinary studies, with a focus on industry-relevant and skills-oriented
curriculum in the disciplines of engineering, technology, management, journalism, mass
communication, et al. In order to give a stimulating learning environment, the university provides
excellent facilities on campus and a very creative approach to learning by engaging new practices
that are revolutionizing educational delivery all over the world. Hybrid models of learning,
interactive discussions, digitally centered classrooms, MOOCs courses offered by Ivy-league
universities – all figure in our learning and teaching approaches. Also, through our unique
“Discover India” program for foreign students, we regularly invite students from globally
renowned Universities like Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, MIT to visit India and experience
our rich culture and diversity.
We strongly believe in inculcating in our students the vital attitude of lifelong learning. Therefore,
we provide our students with ample opportunities to develop self-motivation and creativity. The
students are sensitized to a unique learning process where the self is seen as a creator and leader;
as such an attitude will continue to yield much dividend throughout their lives. Our unique
learning environment imbibes in students the importance of life building traits like dedication,
commitment, hardwork, reliability, sincerity, team spirit and transparency. We believe that
education is the greatest enabler of social transformation and progress at all levels. We are also
ever conscious of a University’s great role towards shaping mindsets and building character, which
in turn build the Nation.
Mission:

To promote teaching, training and research in different fields with special focus on the education
and upliftment of girls from underprivileged sections in the State of Gujarat; women’s education
and empowerment is key to sustainability at all levels.

To collaborate locally and globally with colleges, universities, research institutions, industry
associations, professional associations and community organisations, in order to conceptualize,
design and develop specific educational, training, exchange, mentoring and research programs for
mutual empowerment and development.

To disseminate and develop knowledge through interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder seminars,

conferences, fairs, executive education, publications as well as community contact and
development programs.

To undertake specific and joint programs toward faculty training and development.

To foster ethical and ecological awareness as also build energetic engagement among students to
emerge as active leaders and change-makers in diverse segments of society.

To work toward bridging rural-urban gaps and encourage village self-sufficiency and enterprise
through empowerment and community development initiatives.
