good fight’. This guide came about
because of my buddy James Carpio
from the new TSR (and Tales from
the Fallen Empire). He was looking
for a game system to use for a super-
hero game he wanted to run. I sug-
gested G-Core PRIME and he pointed
out that there were really no long
term campaign rules and hero devel-
opment options. So I asked James for
some suggestions to help me see
what he was talking about. While we
had rules for SPECIAL FOCUSES,
James had other great suggestions
that weren’t in G-Core PRIME or ANY
of the previous editions. So I set out
to make this cool G-Core Campaign
Resource!

Character Growth in a Campaign

If you have ever read a comic you
know that things aren’t just cookie
cutter simple. Life is complex, even
more so for the hero who goes out in
public and fights crime. This even ap-
plies to the covert strike teams (CST)
that have to cover their butts and
tracks. The G-Core Campaign Re-
source is a tool that Game Masters
use to help grow the characters
across different spectrums. This prod-
uct discusses the SOCIAL impact cre-
ated by the hero. It also covers SPE-
CIAL FOCUS advancement and crea-
tion of POWER STUNTS. It offers
rules for increasing STATS and
POWER Ranks, along with acquiring
new powers as the game moves
along. And lastly, it provides AFTER-

-6-8: Extraordinary resources (30
Rank)
-9-10: Fantastic resources (40 Rank)
4: Hero. The city isn’t big enough for
two heroes and this other hero is de-
termined to get rid of the competi-
tion. This could be through a hero
face off to downright dirty tactics. But
in the end, someone is probably go-
ing to get hurt, go to jail or get killed.
5-6: Criminal. This is a person that
sees the hero as a future threat. They
will start researching more about the
hero and prep for that moment when
the two cross paths.
7: Police. The police don’t like it
when a hero works their turf. It’s not
good for job security. It’s likely that
the police will dig into the hero’s past
looking for dirt.
8: Newspaper editor. The hero is
pushing all the wrong buttons with
the newspaper’s editor and that
means lots of negative press. The edi-
tor might even go as far as hiring
‘threats’ to pit against the hero in
hopes of humiliating the city’s favorite
crime fighter.
9: Politician. Without the enslaved
masses of poor and the explosions of
crime, no one can have a career as a
politician. This person is looking to
shut the hero down for political gain
and will pull local favors or resources
to make it happen.
10: Villain. Somebody has
their eye on the hero. That
means that the villain is close
and looking to strike first. It
also means friends and family
could be in danger, without the hero
even knowing it!
