BEAUTIFUL BEHAVIOR PLAY

preliminary

Corruption that is happening in Indonesia today, is in a very severe position and is deeply
rooted in every aspect of life. The development of corruption practices from year to year is
increasing, both from the quantity or amount of state financial losses and in terms of quality
that is increasingly systematic, sophisticated and its scope has expanded in all aspects of
society. The increase in uncontrolled corruption will bring disaster not only to the national
economic life but also to the life of the nation and state in general.

1. What is the definition of corruption and corruption

The word corruption comes from Latin "corruptio" or corruptus. According to linguists,
corruptio comes from the word corrumpere, an older Latin word. The word then decreases the
terms corruption, corrups (English), corruption (France), corruptie / korruptie (Dutch) and
corruption (Indonesia).

Some countries in Asia have various terms about corruption. In China, Hong Kong and
Taiwan, corruption is known as yum cha. India calls corruption with the term baksheesh. In
the Philippines, corruption is called lagaydan. Malaysia calls corruption a resuah. All of these
terms have varied meanings, but generally refer to illegal activities that apply outside the
formal system. However, not all of these terms specifically define themselves as a legal
understanding of corrupt practices. The terms also have not provided an in-depth description
of the broad impact of corrupt practices. The local term which is considered the closest to the
understanding of corruption in depth is what applies in Thailand, namely the term gin muong,
which literally means nation eating. The definition of the term gin muong shows that there is
tremendous damage to the life of a nation as a result of corrupt practices.
2. What are the symptoms of corruption and why people commit corruption

As for most cases of corruption that are published in the media, often the act of corruption
cannot be separated from power, bureaucracy, or government. Corruption is also often
associated with meaning in politics, the economy, public policy, international policy, social
welfare, and national development.

Actions of corruption are basically not stand-alone events. Corruption behavior involves
various things that are complex. Almost all aspects of life contracted corruption. If simplified
causes of corruption include two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal
factors are causes of corruption that comes from personal self , while external factors are the
factors that cause corruption because of external causes.

Thus, broadly the causes of corruption can be grouped into two, namely:

A. Internal factors

1. Aspects of individual behavior

Greedy / greedy human nature

Having a great desire to enrich themselves and the causes of corruption of such actors comes
from within ourselves.

Less strong moral

Namely people who are morally vulnerable so easily tempted to commit corruption that is
usually affected by superiors, classmates, subordinates, or other parties.

Consumptive lifestyle

Life in big cities that lead to a consumptive lifestyle so that consumptive behavior if not
balanced with adequate income, then things like that will open up opportunities for someone
to commit acts of corruption.

2. Social aspects

That is corruption behavior that can occur because of encouragement from close relatives or
family.
B. External factors

1. Economic aspects

Income that is not sufficient for economic needs so that urgency opens a space for someone
to take a shortcut by means of corruption.

2. Political aspects

According to Rahardjo (1983) that social control is a process that is done to influence people
to behave in accordance with the expectations of society.

3. Organizational aspects

That is not a well run organization such as a community organization that is formed, so that
there will be a lack of leadership attitude, absence

organizational culture, inadequate systems of accountability, weaknesses in management

control systems, and weak supervision.

From the conclusions above, it can be concluded that we as an Indonesian nation will unite
the steps and let us fight corruption by starting from ourselves and with great hopes for the
glory of Indonesia and the welfare of the nation that will form a unitary state free of
corruption.

3. Why is there a lot of corruption and what is the impact on yourself and others

People become less receptive to corruption because law enforcement does not work. A mild
sanction encourages corrupt-minded people to not be afraid, because after serving a light
sentence and or being acquitted, they can still enjoy the luxury of their corruption. Even if
already punished for being a sharp spotlight in the wider community, corrupt convicts can
buy various facilities to transform detention rooms into five-star hotel rooms. Even more
ridiculous, many corrupt prisoners are only in detention centers and prisons, but by sunset,
they have moved to their luxurious homes. Only in the morning, they returned to attend the
apple routine.
Therefore, the KPK is obliged to realign law enforcement in Indonesia, including the
insistence that the KPK propose the construction of its own detention center so that it can
provide a deterrent effect for corruptors.

The poor law enforcement system that was built in Indonesia actually gave birth to big
corruptors. A lot of corrupt behavior is done by regents, mayors and governors by living
luxuriously, hedonism by taking various excessive facilities. Even though the funds are
obtained from levies from taxes paid by the people. 78 percent of our state budget funds are
obtained from taxation. Corruption has the effect of giving birth to poverty, giving birth to
unemployment, increasing foreign debt to swell because the APBN and APBD experience
very heavy leaks.

Many of our leaders are not able to become good examples for their people, because the
measure of their life success is measured by how much wealth (financial material) they
accumulate. Supposedly, leaders dare to sacrifice for the people, not corrupt people's
contributions through taxation.

We should be aware and aware that the impact of corrupt actions has a chronic impact (an
impact that will affect all layers).

The impact that will be felt by ourselves as perpetrators of corruption, is also felt by others,
and moreover will be felt more by the nation and the State of Indonesia.

An example of the impact that will be felt by ourselves is the consequences of the
perpetrators of corruption punishments either from the government or the community or from
Alla SWT,

guilty feelings that will haunt in life later, and of course the sins caused by the act of
corruption itself.

While the impact that will be felt by others is the emergence of losses both materially and
non-materially for victims of acts of corruption,

feeling of shame towards other people that happens to the family of the perpetrators of acts of
corruption. And the impact felt by the nation and the State of Indonesia is financial loss

or reduced state revenues and damage to the governance structure and morality of the nation.
In an economic perspective, there are several effects of corruption that can be proposed,
including:

1. the occurrence of inefficiencies to cause high economic costs which are ultimately borne
by consumers. The exploitation and unfair distribution of resources and development funds,
because only the power elite and capital owners can access them.

2. The occurrence of ineffectiveness and inefficiency in the government bureaucracy, because

incentives cause the character of the government bureaucracy to be ineffective. There has
been a decrease in capital investment, so that it ultimately affects economic growth and
reduces state income.

3. As a result, investors are not interested in investing in countries with high corruption rates.
Corruption causes business uncertainty.

The direct impact of the description above, economic growth has stagnated and the poverty
rate has increased which can have a broad influence on the stability of a country.

4. How to prevent and overcome corruption

a. Make rules / order / agreement / agreement, which

based on the awareness that the entire organization has

human element (because of the members / individuals in it

is a human being), so the opportunity to make mistakes is good

intentionally or accidentally.
b. Implement modern management rules, in the world

is a good work plan, so that it is easily monitored,

directed, motivated and easy

supervised / controlled. So that all actions, decisions,

wisdom can be accounted for.

c. Establish good recruitment standards, where acceptance

prospective stewards must have (equipped) conditions

which matches the specified criteria. Where

these criteria are the right personality criteria (type

appropriate personality, for example high level of affiliation, needs of

high achievement, etc.), motivation, technical knowledge, and

moral honesty.

d. Improve the quality of graduates of high schools, colleges

High which is a service plant, with

set a high standard of acceptance, set

a minimum standard of achievement that is sufficient to guarantee

quality, concocting a curriculum that contains elements

modern management, organizational behavior, sociology, knowledge

law, to get graduates who are aware of

its existence, in the midst of a continuing community environment

progress quickly, and the level of pluralism is high.

e. Take firm action against all violations of the organization that aims

to seek personal gain, to prevent emergence

bad precedent later on. Because it is based

the experience of many acts of corruption that occur is due

imitating or repetition.

f. Instill an understanding that the organization has a thick human nature, which is not

escaped error, and must be monitored the way, and corrected

from time to time.

5. What do I think about corruption

In my opinion, corruption in Indonesia has become rampant, because not only officials are
committing acts of corruption, but people also commit acts of corruption.

Corruption is carried out by the community, such as when trading, the trader chooses a price
that has a lot of profit.

If corruption in the ranks of officials such as taking tax money paid by the community is
actually taken by officials for individual needs and not thinking about the causes.

Corruption itself has become a tradition that is not surprising. I don't know what caused the
officials to commit corruption, even though their salaries were sufficient for living needs,
perhaps the main cause of officials committing corruption was because the penalties imposed
in Indonesia did not make them afraid and also the judges could be bribed with money.

And even then corruption will have an impact on society and become one of the causes of
poverty. The officials only commit corruption, and of course the community will commit
corruption in different ways.

My hope for corruption in Indonesia is that hopefully there will be no officials or people who
commit corruption.
Even if there is a person who commits a crime immediately punished as severely or in the
law of death, so the officials who will do it will be afraid of the sentence and will also think
twice before doing so.

One way to tackle corruption so that it does not happen to future governments is by teaching
and instilling anti-corruption education for young people of future generations and also
instilling discipline and strong faith, officials must also be monitored by the KPK to
manipulate corruption, police officers and the authorities handle it firmly.

Lately there have been reports of many corruption cases that the process has dragged on.
Actually, if the judges already knew the location of the mistake and in the article how they
were guilty, the corruptors immediately went to prison and did not have to drag on.

Many differences in corruption cases that occur in Indonesia and abroad, for example in
Japan, when officials or others are caught committing criminal acts of corruption, the
corruptor is ashamed and regrets what they did, and does not repeat it again.

But unlike in Indonesia, there are some officials who used to feel living behind bars for
committing corruption, when they went out of prison they repeated it again and there was no
sense of deterrence from committing corruption.

Conclusion

As explained in the contents of the essay above, that corruption is basically around us, maybe
sometimes we don't realize it. Corruption can occur at home, school, community, as well as
the highest and in government. Corruption is an initial act that enriches oneself which directly
harms the state or economy of the country. So, the elements in corruption do include two
aspects. Aspects that enrich themselves by using their position and aspects of the use of state
money for their interests. The causes include the absence and weakness of leaders,
weaknesses in teaching and ethics, colonialism, colonization of low education, poverty, lack
of harsh punishment, scarcity of fertile environment for corrupt behavior, low human
resources, and economic structure. Corruption can be classified into three types, namely
form, nature, and purpose. The impact of corruption can occur in various fields including, the
fields of democracy, the economy, and the welfare of the country. Intelligence and courage
are needed to break down and tear down the pillars of corruption which are the main
obstacles to the slow pace of complete economic development in Indonesia. Corruption that
has long been an outbreak has never been completed, because the murder of the outbreak has
never been on target. Therefore it takes intelligence of civil society to supervise and make
political decisions to prevent the outbreak of dirty corruption in Indonesia.
