PC Statement

On (Thursday) 3/14/19 at 1803 hours, I was dispatched to call a therapist from Solace Emotional Health in Pleasant Grove, concerning an 18-year-old
male by the name of Treylend Arthur Wheeler (9/18/00). The therapist; Alexa Sharp, told dispatch that she met with "Trey" for the first time today and he
threatened to "shoot up his school." Trey mentioned manic episodes of not being able to control his anger and worries for others when he's angry. Trey
informed Alexa that he has a detailed plan to murder someone (unknown name) that molested or raped his friend. Trey told Alexa that he has a
fascination and obsession with death. Trey resides at 4992 N Eagle Nest Ln, Lehi, with his Father (James "Jim" Wheeler), Mother (Angela Wheeler), and
Siblings (Dillon & Sadie). It should be noted Trey attends Skyridge High School in Lehi (confirmed by Skyridge SRO; Detective Prawitt). I called Alexa and
she was on the phone with the owner of Solace Emotional Health; Dr. Jerry Redd. Both parties informed me that Trey's appointment was today (3/14/19)
at 1430 hours, however, he didn't arrive until almost 1500 hours. Being their first meeting together, Alexa asked Trey what his goals were with therapy
and why he was attending. Trey "unloaded" on Alexa for approximately 45 minutes (he left at 1545 hours), disclosing his desire of shooting up his school
and murdering a person that hurt his friend. Trey would not disclose names, when he would carry out his plan(s), or details of the plans. He only
explained that he fantasizes over these murderous thoughts constantly and he spent 3+ hours last night (3/13/19) planning it out. Trey's only specific
details provided to Alexa, were a person that hurt someone close to him and his school. Alexa and Dr. Redd stated Trey sees himself as a vigilante and
claimed he wants to harm those that hurt others. I asked when their next appointment was with Trey and they stated they didn't have anything set,
however, they wanted to see him tomorrow to establish a safety plan. Dr. Redd & Alexa "felt" nothing was imminent, however, they were worried based off
of what Trey told them and they wanted to report it to Police. I asked what Trey was diagnosed with and Dr. Redd stated a psychiatrist diagnosed him as
anti-social and bipolar (a dangerous combination). Dr. Redd explained to me that they suspect Trey is Bipolar 1 (commits heinous crimes, generally
resulting in arrest/jail) and not bipolar 2 (not wanting to go to work today). Alexa attempted to make contact with Trey's mother, however, she did not
answer and Alexa left a voicemail, expressing concerns with Trey and asking her to call back immediately. Contact information was provided for Trey and
his family members. I called Sergeant Lewis and SRO Detective Prawitt and we discussed the circumstance and facts provided and felt the threats Trey
made to Alexa were very real and credible. We went to Skyridge to check on a full auditorium of students for a talent show. It was unknown if Trey was
one of the hundreds of students in the auditorium. School staff was informed to keep an eye out for Trey and due to the terroristic threats made with a
possibly immediate threat, I asked dispatch to ping his cell phone. It plotted at his residence, ensuring the safety of students and staff at the school. We
left an officer there while we (myself, Sgt. Lewis, & Detective Prawitt) went to Trey's home. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the front door by Dillon and
invited in by Trey to speak with him. Jim and Angela joined us with Trey in the living room of their home. Detective Prawitt informed Trey that we needed
to speak with him and he was advised of his Miranda rights. Trey waived his right to counsel and agreed to speak with us freely and openly without his
attorney present. Trey stated he knew we were there, concerning what he told his therapist in their meeting today and he asked if he could speak with us
in private, without his parents. We agreed and when his parents left to another area of the home, Detective Prawitt asked Trey to tell us everything that
was discussed with Alexa and why he thought that would warrant a response of police to his home. Trey agreed and opened up, releasing frustration, odd
responses, and several bone-chilling responses to our questions. After speaking with Trey, all officers on scene felt the next step of Trey's plan... was
execution. Execution on Skyridge high school and specific people. Trey spoke of being frustrated, in a sad phase, and eventually a "manic phase." He
claimed to often have messed up and scary thoughts of taking the lives of bad people. People that have hurt Trey's relatives or friends, he claimed he
would beat them to death; "not just hurt them, I mean to death!" We asked if there was anyone in particular and he claimed there wasn't, however, he was
picked on and that's why he left the football team. Trey stated his thoughts were of shooting up the school and "what if I did it?" I stated he has thought
about doing explosives. Detective Prawitt asked Trey about his office and Trey responded; "No, you're the good guy. We're not gonna hurt the good guys.
Just the bad guys." I later asked Trey to clarify what he meant by "we're not gonna..." in his statement, referring to more than one person and he stated
he meant himself and the voices in his head, furthermore, he doesn't have any friends. Trey elaborated on the design of Skyridge High School, accurately
noting it's in the shape of a star and Detective Prawitt's office is right in the middle. Trey claimed he was thinking of a school shooting "as a defender" and
"I would have 1 to 2 people in each wing (hallway) shooting, then you (pointing to Det. Prawitt) would have to make a decision on what way you went."
Trey considered response time from police or the swat team and where the "best vantage point would be." Trey claimed to even study a drug formerly
used in Nazi-Germany, claiming it was basically meth mixed with cocaine so "you can feel good, get shot 8+ times, and keep fighting." Trey provided
several more details, his phone, and a journal that he claims has more details of his thoughts (see report for further details), with his consent to search his
journal and phone completely. Based on Trey's admission of "desire to cause mass destruction and not just kill select a few," he was arrested at 2140
hours for Threat of Terroism (Felony 2). See report 19LE02883 for further details. By submitting this affidavit, I declare under criminal penalty of the State
