Appendix A – LV Local isolator standard

Design Constraints
The isolator must be rated to disconnect safely while on-load
With sensitive equipment the isolator must be equipped with
controls isolation that will isolate upstream VSD’s or
equipment before locally disconnecting
Reversible drives must have an additional button
The isolator shall clearly state in engraved labelling “ON” and
“OFF” without the possibility of ambiguity.
The door of the cabinet shall have a bolted earth cable
The outside door of the enclosure shall have a window to make
the isolator state easily visible. (See drawing number
FW99H89000)

Installation requirements
The isolator shall be installed as close as practical to the
equipment that is to be isolated.
The isolator shall be labelled and include the following
information:
