IOCL 004DP44 is produced based on Hostalen Stirred Tank Heavy Diluent process licensed from M/s
Lyondell Basell, Germany. IOCL HDPE 004DP44 is a natural resin meeting the MFI and Density
requirements of base resin used for HDPE pipe as per IS: 4984-2016 on "High Density Polyethylene
Pipe for Water Supply-Specification" and IS 14151(Part 1) on “Irrigation Equipment- Sprinkler Pipes-
Specification”. When adequate quantity of carbon black as specified in IS: 4984-2016 and clause 4.2
of IS 14151(Part 1) is added to this grade it meets to the requirements of the designation PE-EW-A45-
T006 mentioned in IS: 4984-2016 and clause 4.1 of IS 14151(Part 1). "The pipes made from 004DP44
grade meet the requirement of PE 80 as per IS: 4984-2016".

004DP44 is duly stabilized by antioxidants. The antioxidants have been dosed to maintain the aim
value of <0.3% in the resin. Hence it may be compounded with suitable carbon black master batch or
processed directly after mixing with suitable master batch in the pipe extruder for production of
pipes.

This Grade shall comply with the requirements stipulated in IS 10146 – 2003 on 'Specification for
Polyethylene for safe use in contact with Foodstuff, Pharmaceutical & Drinking water'. Basic chemical
/ additives incorporated in the grade shall conform to the positive list of constituents as prescribed in
IS: 10141-2001. Thus, the grade and Additives incorporated shall meet with requirements of FDA:
CFR Title 21, 177.1520, Olefin Polymers
