Answer the following question briefly:

1. Discuss the disparity in educational technology advancement in schools of industrialized

Fist World country (such as the U.S., England, Japan, Singapore, Australia) and a
developing country, namely the Philippines.

Answer:
The disparity in educational technology in schools of industrialized first world
country (such as the U.S., England, Japan, Singapore, Australia) and a developing
country namely the Philippines has a very big difference for me, even though when it
comes to social media, Philippines can’t left behind, but on the other hand when we talk
about the EDUCATION, Philippines is too far away in the first world countries. In
Singapore the ratio of tablets, Ipad, Iphones is 1:1 as a medium of learning while here in
the Philippines the students ration of book is 1:2 or 1:3. According to research:
 More American than Filipino children have access to a computer at school.
 More American than Filipino have access to the internet at school.
 More American than Filipino children are confident in using computers to aid in
their education.
According to what I have understood about this research, this study shows that the
Philippines is really left behind, though it says that our country is a developing one.
Another factor is, here in the Philippines there are still many traditional teachers who did
not engage their selves in adjusting and adapting the technology that can help their to
improve their teaching styles.

2. Given the lack of resources in our rural areas in the Philippines, what media can still be
used for effective learning in school?

Answer:
We all know that Philippines is a developing country and such many rural areas,
but even though we are lack of resources we can still used many effective learning
traditional media in school like posters, charts, illustrations, pictures and drawings as
substitute. We can also use the chalk, blackboard and a textbook. Also even though the
newspaper, magazines and books needs electricity to produce, still we can use this as one
of the resources that can help the learners to understand other lessons. Or if you are a
science teacher for example you can do the actual discussion about a specific topic for
example a different parts of a flower. You can use the gumamela for the demonstration
and showing the students the actual parts of the flower. In that way teaching is more
effective because the students are involve in the learning.
3. Computer shops are pervasive around schools, but these are mainly used for playing
games. game Without judging on the possibly dehumanizing effects of excessive
computer game habits, how can a learner best use computer resources as they may be
available in school or at home?

Answer:
Nowadays, children in this generation are really into gadgets. But as a teacher we
are responsible in informing the learners on how to use those technological gadgets in a
very useful one, as what I have learned in EdTech 1 we should know how to engage
while entertaining through the use of technology. Students can use or should and must
use computer for information needed on their assignments, homework or even advance
insight about some topics/subjects. We must guide them about on how to use those
technology as a library from which they can get references.
Future Shock

“To survive, to avert what we have termed future shock, the individual must become infinitely
more adaptable and capable than ever before. We must search out totally new ways to anchor
ourselves, for all the old roots - religion, nation, community, family, or profession - are now
shaking under the hurricane impact of the accelerative thrust. It is no longer resources that limit
decisions, it is the decision that makes the resources.” – Alvin Toffler
“Science fiction is held in low regard as a branch of literature, and perhaps it deserves this
critical contempt. But if we view it as a kind of sociology of the future, rather than as literature,
science fiction has immense value as a mind-stretching force for the creation of the habit of
anticipation. Our children should be studying Arthur C. Clarke, William Tenn, Robert Heinlein,
Ray Bradbury and Robert Sheckley, not because these writers can tell them about rocket ships
and time machines but, more important, because they can lead young minds through an
imaginative exploration of the jungle of political, social, psychological, and ethical issues that
will confront these children as adults.” — Alvin Toffler
 Future shock by Alvin Toffler is the shattering stress and disorientation that we
induce in individuals by dubjecting then to too much change in too much change
in too short a time,”. This book discusses change and what happens to people;
how they do and don’t adopt. This book was published in 1970 and I am so
amazed about what was written in this technology. Theres a big and heavy
changes result in stress and disorientation, especially when these changes takes
place in a short period of time according to Toffler man must cope with these
changes and that there isn’t much known about the mechanisms for coping and
adaptability.

Medicine
Technology in medicine really help a lot in this field because of the new
inventions that invented by those great people behind that. With the help of
technology many illness cured and can be cure. In the future shock video the
advancement of modern technology really emphasize in the field of medicine. As
what I have remember in the video the one who have many wrinkles in the face
and body undergo toa plastic surgery to become younger. And it is very effective.
Even in genetic field technology have a great help. Over the centuries, new
medical developments and techniques have changed the face of healthcare. The
medical field has always brought together the best and brightest of society to help
those in need. From treating cancer and delivering babies to dealing with heart
attacks, doctors have developed technology and improved techniques.
Family
According to the video that I have watched technology also involved in
the family when it comes in choosing the genes of their future baby. Genetic
engineering is what they called in that process. The parents have a freedom to
choose what they want to have for their babies. In just a click in the remote
control they already choose the features of their future baby. They also have
freedom to choose about the medical status of the child. And I might say that the
word PERFECT is the best to describe in creating their child.

Education
The rapid and constant pace of change in technology is creating both
opportunities and challenges for schools. We all know that even before
technology is already exist and in connection eith that in the year where the
devices like rocket ships and many other are already invented and this is really
related to the existing of technology. Now a days technology help in a lot in a
positive ways involving education. Technology in education helps the student to
use the technology in their assignments and in their homework.
