1. Jed McCaleb, Founder of Ripple and Stellar Co-founder

Born in Little Rock Arkansas, Jed McCaleb is a leading American programmer and
entrepreneur. He is currently the CTO of Stellar.org, which he also founded. Prior to being at the
helm of Stellar, McCaleb was known for being the leader and CTO of Ripple, a real-time gross
settlement system, currency exchange, and remittance network. Due to McCaleb’s Ripple token
ownership worth $20b, he was put at 40th place in Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people.
McCaleb is also known for creating the bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox. If you’ve been wondering

2. Vilius Šapoka, Minister of Finance, Republic of Lithuania

Mr.   Vilius Šapoka was appointed in 2016 as the Minister of Finance of the Republic of
Lithuania. He brings with him an extensive career in government and finance, having held
various positions in the Ministry of Finance and Lithuanian Securities Commission from 2012 to
2016. Prior to being the country’s finance head, Mr.   Šapoka was the Director of the Market
Department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Lithuania.

Mr.   Šapoka holds a Master of Economic in Banking from the Vilnius University and an
International Executive Master of Business Administration from the Baltic Management Institute.
He will deliver a keynote address at the conference.

3. Hon. Dharmendar Sesungkur, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance,


Republic of Mauritius

Instrumental in bringing world-influential accounting names to Mauritius, Hon. Dharmendar


Sesungkur has worked his way up from an assurance and business advisory career at top firms
to being the head honcho for the Republic of Mauritius’ Minister of Financial Services and Good
Governance.
During his stints in private practice, Hon. Sesungkur led key assignments for multinational
groups and projects across his region of Africa, financed by international funding institutions

4. Jason Hsu, Congressman At-Large, Taiwan Parliamentary Coalition for Blockchain

From a budding technology entrepreneur, Jason Hsu is now a renowned legislator in Taiwan,
focusing on technology developments and innovation. Mr. Hsu, also known in the country as
Crypto Congressman, has authored and enacted such important legislations as the Fintech
Sandbox Act, Angel Investment Law, Cybersecurity Management Act, and Virtual Currency
Guidelines. He is the lead for the Asian Blockchain Alliance (ABA) and the Parliamentary
Coalition for Blockchain and Industry Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO).

Mr. Hsu graduated from Singularity University with a degree in exponential technology. He is
currently a Draper Hills Fellow at Stanford University – Center for Democracy Development and

5. Prof. Jason Potts, Director of Blockchain Innovation Hub, RMIT University

With five books and over 80 articles spanning topics such as growth theory, innovation
commons, economics of cities, and crypt-economics and blockchain, Prof. Jason Potts is a
powerhouse when it comes to the academic side of things. A Professor of Economics at RMIT
University in Australia and the Director of the Blockchain Innovation Hub at the same university,
Prof. Potts specializes in the economics of innovation and new technologies, among many
others.

Prof. Potts, a Board Member of the Australian Digital Commerce Association, will tackle the
Blockchain Economy and the New Technology of Trade at the conference.

6. Susan Oh, Co-chair of AI, Blockchain for Impact, United Nations

Ms. Susan Oh is a well-known speaker on the importance of benevolence in the development


and use of technology. She is a frequent speaker on the crucial role of data sovereignty,
blockchain and tokenomics and the development of human-centric artificial intelligence (AI).

Based in New York City, Ms. Oh founded MKR AI, a company that flags disinformation through
the use of blockchain by offering token rewards to users who verify, annotate, and curate
valuable stories. Ms. Oh is also a governing member of Blockchain for Impact at the United
Nations General Assembly.

In recognition of her efforts and as one of the Top Ten Frontier Women in Digital, Ms. Oh was
awarded The Quantum Impact Award #DecadeofWomen in partnership with GA. She will
discuss how AI and blockchain both play a collaborative role in financial inclusion.

7. Chia Hock Lai, President, Singapore FinTech Association

Two decades of experience in finance and technology have definitely paved the way for Mr.
Chia Hock Lai to get to where he is now. As the President of the Singapore FinTech
Association, Mr. Chia works passionately to ensure that the financial system grows to be more
efficient and inclusive. He has worked for organizations like the Government Technology
Agency of Singapore (GovTech) and NTUC Income. He is also a Fellow of the Singapore 2
University of Social Science, member of the Banking & Finance and Fund Industry Panel of
Nanyang Polytechnic University, and an advisor to many start-ups.

8. Ahmed Syed, Principal Innovation Architect, SAP

Ahmed Syed takes the lead role for SAP Application & Technology Services, driving emerging

Leonardo Innovation Platform, Mr. Syed’s team drives key innovations to its customers with
machine learning, IoT, blockchain, and data intelligence, among others.

Prior to his role as Principal Innovation Architect, Ahmed was in a digital transformation
strategic advisory role for SAP APJ organization. At present, his focus is to enable customers to
develop an appropriate and effective digital strategy to launch their businesses into full swing.
Together with Mr. Chia, he will also talk about the future of blockchain for enterprises.

Bringing with him 20 years of IT management and consulting experience focused on the
financial services sector, Dr. Paul Sin is definitely one of the stalwarts in the digital technologies
space in the region. Dr. Sin is currently a consulting partner with Deloitte China and Deloitte’s
Asia Pacific Blockchain Lab Leader, based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Dr. Sin was the CEO of Fintech. He has also worked for EY, PwC, and
IBM, specialising in emerging technologies.
