FOREWORD
This checklist is part of the Technical Order System. The flight crew
is required to operate the aircraft according to the appropriate
checklist.

Latest Data
Each flight crew member has to take personal care of having the
latest issue of the CL and its changes. For the latest data refer to
the Index GAF T.O. 0-1-1A, which is issued every three months. lf
you have any questions about the date of issue check with your
supply personnel.

Technical Order Number

The checklist is identified by the same GAF T.O.-number as the
appropriate Flight Manual with the addition of the letters CL and
a suffix number which can be used for further classification (e.g.
to indicate the crew member to whom it applies).

Contents
Checklists consist of one or more parts. The pages of the different
parts bear an additional identification letter to the normal
numbering (e.g. N-1 for Normal procedures). Emergency
procedures are specially identified by a black striped border.

Flight Manual
To fly the aircraft safely and efficiently you must know the proce-
dures, in amplified form, in the Flight Manual. Checklists contain
only the abbreviated form.

Changes
Pen and ink changes are not allowed except when authorized by
WaSysKdoLw. Basic issues of checklists are updated by changes.
Until the issue of a regular change, Interim Changes are used for
urgent revisions.

Modification Information
Due to the embodiment of additional modifications, certain differ-
ences exist in the design, location, or function of equipment
between individual helicopters. These differences will be defined
on the effected pages by the following symbols (in front or behind
the figure or text) with an additional frame around the modified part
of the description or procedure paying for more attention as shown
below:

HF
Identifies text and figures concerning helicopters with HF-
COMM System installed.

F
Identifies text and figures concerning helicopters with Emer-
gency Floats installed.

VIP
Identifies text and figures concerning helicopters with VIP-
Equipment installed.

ARM
Identifies text and figures concerning helicopters with Ballistic
Protection and/or Armament installed.

IFR
Identifies text and figures concerning helicopters with IFR-
Equipment upgrade installed.

D
GAF T.O. 1H-1(U)D(H)-1CL-1

Defenitions of Terms:

(PREMOD)
Identifies text, figures and procedures concerning helicopters
status before Modification has been accomplished.

(POSTMOD)
Identifies text, figures and procedures concerning helicopters
status after a Modification has been accomplished.

"As required", is used in the checklist, indicates equipment

operation or setting which may be necessary.

Warning see GAF T.O. 1H-1(U)D(H)-1

Caution see GAF T.O. 1H-1(U)D(H)-1

Binders
Binders to hold and protect the checklist are issued by your supply
personnel.

Deficiency Reports and proposals for correction or

improvement
Discrepancies and proposals for correction or improvement con-
cerning this checklist shall be reported to WaSysKdo Lw A3a using
AFTO Form 22, Publication Deficiency Report, in 3 copies.

NOTE
Discrepancies in Publications which are
hazardous to personnel or jeopardize Flight Safety
have to be reported immediately by telex / intranetmail to

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
When an emergency occurs, three basic rules must be followed
in order to handle the situation:

1. Maintain aircraft control.

2. Analyze the situation.
3. Take proper action.
After a system failure and illumination of caution lights, corrective
action will be taken and the master caution light will be reset.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
• Land ASAP:
Emergency conditions are urgent and require an
immediate landing at the nearest adequate landing site.

• Land as soon as practical:

Emergency conditions are less urgent, and although the
mission is to be terminated, the degree of the emergency
is such that flight may be continued to the nearest airfield,
where appropriate assistance can be expected.

• The term
AR GLIDE – ESTABLISH
means:

1. Throttle – Flight Idle and

simultaneously
collective pitch
down

2. GOV sw – EMER

• The term
FUEL – OFF
means:

1. Throttle – Close

2. Main/Start fuel sws – OFF
