Install and Activate

For
MAIN & BACKUP
Computer

Prepared by:
 A. ADP Installation:
ADP needs to be installed on 2 separate 3. Insert the provided “Start-up key” and click
computers; as MAIN and BACKUP in order to next.

installing on both MAIN and BACKUP computers,
please activate ADP as below.

B. ADP Activation:
1. After the installation finishes, please open
the ADP – Licence Key Wizard from
Windows Start menu > Admiralty Digital
Publications or by clicking the shortcut made
on the desktop.
4. Select “Request an Activation Key” click
Next.

2. The next window will appears. Click Next to

continue.

5. Choose whether the computer is a MAIN or

BACKUP.
6. Click the “Save the request to a simple text 9. Copy the email address, subject line and
file”. Choose Desktop to save the file for body as below. (Don’t add or remove any
easier access later. comments). Then, send the email

7. If you look on the Desktop, you will see a file

called “Activation Key Request. Open it.

10. You will receive an email as below. Copy the

“Activation Key”.

8. You will see the following text.

 13. Done! You are now able to access to the
subscribed ADP contents.

11. Access the Licence Key Wizard again but

this time select “Add an Activation Key”.

14. If your ADP has been activated, the Licence

key wizard shows the installed keys. If you
are adding another area, select “Add another
Key” and just go through the wizard.

12. Paste the key received in the email and click

Next.
 C. Update ADP and Print the Certificate:
Printing the certificate is very important. Before
doing so, please update the contents to the
latest ADP Update CD that you have onboard.
You may also retrieve the update by email using
the built in ADP update wizard, but after the
initial setup we suggest you to use the ADP
Update CD instead to reduce the communication
cost.

1. After the installation finishes, please open
the ADP – Data Updating Wizard from
Windows Start menu > Admiralty Digital
Publications or by clicking the shortcut made
on the desktop.
2. Select “Apply updates you’ve……FTP or
Weekly Update CD” and click next.
4. Wait until the update process is finished.
This process might take a while depending
on your computer specification.
5. In order to print the certificate, please access
the Data Updating Wizard again. This time,
click the Print button on top of the wizard
window. Make sure your printer is
connected.

3. Insert the ADP Update CD into the drive and

click Next when ready. If prompted, please
select the appropriate CD drive where the
Update CD is.
 D. Upgrading ADP Software:
Around every end of each year, a new version of
ADP software will be released. When you
received the software, an upgrade process has
to be performed. Installing the new version will
change the “Total Tide” edition to the new year
version.

After installing the new version: 1 January 2014
1. First, go to Control Panel > Uninstall a
Program
4. Once the process is finished, click “Finish” to
close the wizard.
5. Insert the new ADP V14 disk into the
CD/DVD drive.
6. Open My Computer and locate the CD/DVD
drive and left click on the drive(*do not
double click the drive).
7. Locate a folder called “TotalUninstall” and
double click.

8. Inside the folder you will find a program

called “TotalUninstall.exe” and double click.

2. Select “Admiralty Digital Publications” and

click uninstall.

3. Follow the wizard (click “Next” when

prompted until the uninstallation process
starts.
9. You will be prompted that you MUST
uninstall the ADP first before running the
program.
10. Click “Next” if you are ready to continue the
process. Please note that during the process
you will be prompted about changes will be
made on the windows registry. Click “Yes” to
continue.
11. Once the process is finished, click “Finish” to
close the wizard.
12. Now you are ready to install the new version.
Please install the software using the latest
CD you have received (example: 2014
edition is called V14).
13. After you have finished the installation,
please run the activation method as written
on section B using the “Start-up Key”.
