Topic: Life in the countryside and in the city.

The world is developing more rapidly along with the increasing in modernization and
urbanization speed. Eventhough we think that the cultural gap between urban and rural areas
have been shortened, there still exist several differences between lifes in the countryside and life
in the city. Some people prefer staying in rural regions for many significant reasons, meanwhile,
others have their own interest in the urban life. In comparing some main features of these two
specific areas, I believe it would help people to find out which place would suit their life better.
First of all, there is a complete opposite atmosphere in the countryside comparing to that in the
city. Due to the flow of people leaving their hometown, rushing to big cities in order to earn a
better life, cities are getting more crowded than ever before which results in fewer people staying
in the countryside. Being less crowded, rural areas tend to be closer to nature and have fresher
air. For example, there are more fields for planting and growing trees in the countryside than in
the city where blocks are built tightly close one another. Whilst, polluted air and traffic jams are
some big problems that cities have to deal with. As a result, public transports could not satisfy
the urban inhabitants’ demand of transportation, which put them into using more private
vehicles.
Secondly, education is the other matter. People in the countryside seems to complete only the
basic compulsory levels as some quit school after finishing secondary level or only few of them
manage to graduate from high school. In contrast, city life put in requirements and also gives its
inhabitants the opportunities to reach far advanced education levels. For examples, in order to get
a well paid job they have to compete with many other candidates for the position. In this case,
the one with higher educational level certificate, such as master degree or PhD degree, would
likely to receive higher recognition and impress the employer.
However, beside the fact that being less crowded means less intense in job finding, rural citizens
could not reach higher educational levels because these areas lack of necessary facilities. The
reason is that modern technology and facilities are always applied to schools in the city first, then
they would be used in the countryside later.
In conclusion, there are 2 main differences between the urban life and rural life that have been
discussed. Looking at the recent trend of people moving to big cities looking for better jobs, it
seems like each features of the countryside and city areas would remain the same. Still, it is
depending on induvidual interest that people choose their own homeplace to live.
