Tutorial 1
In this tutorial, you will create the model shown in Figure 120. The dimensions of
the model are shown in the same figure. The hidden lines in the top and side views
are suppressed for clarity. (Expected time: 45 min)
29
5/31/2013
1. Create the base feature of the model as a hollow feature, refer to Figures 121
through 123.

Tutorial 2
In this tutorial, you will create the chair frame shown in Figure 125. The dimensions of
the chair frame are also shown in the same figure. (Expected time: 30 min)
1. Invoke the 3D sketching environment and then draw the sketch of a 3D path. Create
only the left half of the 3D path in the 3D sketching environment, refer to Figure 126.
2. Select the Front Plane as the sketching plane and draw the sketch of the profile.
31
5/31/2013
3. Sweep the profile along the 3D path using the Thin Feature option, refer to Figure 127.
4. Mirror the sweep feature using the Front Plane, refer to Figure 128.
32

Tutorial 3
In this tutorial, you will create the spring shown in Figure 129. The dimensions of the
spring are shown in Figure 130. (Expected time: 45 min)

2. Create the end clips of the spring, refer to Figures 132, 133, and 134.
Figure 133 Second sketch of right Figure 134 Path for the spring
end-clip
3. Combine the end clips and the helical curve to create a single curve using the
Composite Curve option, refer to Figure 135.
4. Create the profile on the plane normal to the curve and sweep it along the curve, refer
to Figures 136 and 137.

Exercise 1
Create the model of the Upper Housing shown in Figure 138. The dimensions of the
model are shown in Figure 139. (Expected time: 1 hr)

Exercise 2
Create the model shown in Figure 140. The dimensions of the model are shown in
Figure 141. (Expected time: 1 hr)
