Question: Is it possible for a true Adventist to fall away from the faith and backslide
into sin and be lost?
(2 Peter 3:17) “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye
also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.”
(2 Peter 1:1-11) Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have
obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ: (2) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God,
and of Jesus our Lord, (3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things
that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to
glory and virtue: (4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption
that is in the world through lust. (5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your
faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; (6) And to knowledge temperance; and to
temperance patience; and to patience godliness; (7) And to godliness brotherly kindness;
and to brotherly kindness charity. (8) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make
you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus
Christ. (9) But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath
forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. (10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give
diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never
fall: (11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting
kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
“Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of
the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness
of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness;
neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness,
and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that
he hath committed, he shall die for it.” (Ezekiel 33:12-13)

Therefore, it is very possible for a righteous man or a true Adventist to fall away or
backslide into sin.
Question: Why is it possible for a true Adventist to backslide into sin or fall away from
the faith?
(Hosea 11:7) ”And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the
most High, none at all would exalt him.”
The reason for this possibility is because we have a natural bent or disposition to
backsliding to sin in the heart.
1828 Noah Webster’s Dictionary of BENT used in Hosea 11:7 focus on the 2nd definition
BENT, 2. Inclination; disposition; a leaning or bias of mind; propensity; as the bent of the
mind or will; the bent of a people towards an object. This may be natural or artificial,
occasional or habitual, with indefinite degrees of strength.
How does the Bible describe someone who backslides?
(Hosea 4:16) “For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as
a lamb in a large place.”
(Jeremiah 7:24) “But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the
counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.”
Jeremiah 3:6-7 “The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou
seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and
under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. (7) And I said after she had done all
these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah
saw it.”
Jeremiah 8:5 “Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual
backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.”
The following could be said of those who backslide:
 The very name backslide means moving backward and not forward.

 It means to slide backward or turn backward or fall backward. Those who

backslide move backward or backslide.
 They are those who harken not to God’s word but walk in the counsels and
imagination of their hearts.
 They also turn to worship idols or false gods and they are regarded as harlot.
 They are regarded as those who hold fast to deceit, falsehood and lies.
Question: How does God view backsliding?
Jeremiah 14:7 “O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's
sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.”
Jeremiah 2:19 “Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove
thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the
LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.”
Jeremiah 3:6-8, 11 “The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou
seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and
under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. (7) And I said after she had done
all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister
Judah saw it. (8) And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed
adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister
Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. . . (11) And the LORD said unto
me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.”
Hebrews 10:38-39 “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall
have no pleasure in him. (39) But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of
them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
Backsliding is a sin before God. To backslide is to forsake the Lord. It is an evil and wicked
thing in the sight of God when we backslide, turn back and drawback spiritually. God
view backsliding as sexual sin (spiritual adultery) which a woman (church) commit
against her husband (Jesus Christ). Those that drawback shall not find God’s pleasure
and will end up in perdition if they refuse to repent.
Question: How does one backslide? Where does backsliding begin?

Proverbs 14:14 “The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man
shall be satisfied from himself.”
Hosea 11:7 “And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to
the most High, none at all would exalt him.”
Since we are bent to backslide, this definitely means that backsliding begins in the heart.
We shall see that every action carried out begins first in the heart.
Backsliding is subtraction and growth is an addition
Matthew 25:14-30 “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country,
who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. (15) And unto one he
gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several
ability; and straightway took his journey. (16) Then he that had received the five talents
went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. (17) And likewise he
that had received two, he also gained other two. (18) But he that had received one went
and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. (19) After a long time the lord of those
servants cometh, and reckoneth with them . (20) And so he that had received five talents
came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents:
behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. (21) His lord said unto him, Well done,
thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee
ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (22) He also that had received
two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have
gained two other talents beside them. (23) His lord said unto him, Well done, good and
faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over
many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord . (24) Then he which had received the
one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where
thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: (25) And I was afraid,
and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. (26) His lord answered
and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I
sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: (27) Thou oughtest therefore to have
put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine
own with usury. (28) Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten
talents. (29) For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance:
but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. (30) And cast ye the
unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

You don’t have to commit any great sin before you could have a subtraction in your
spiritual life. All you need do is to stop adding to your spiritual life. The wicked and
slothful servant didn’t add to his Christian experience; he didn’t add to his faith, which
is the first step of Peter’s ladder, but remained stagnant and ceased to grow spiritually.
In the eyes of God one who is stagnant or ceases to grow is a backslider and he will lose
his or her soul.
(John 15:1-2) “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in
me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it,
that it may bring forth more fruit.”
Two classes of people in the Church
There are two classes of people in the church. Those who profess to be in Christ but refuse
to bear fruit (or remain stagnant) will be taken away (or fall away or backslide), but those
who remain in Christ and bear fruit (or add to their Christian experience) will be prone
to bear more fruit (will increase).
The first class will fall way or backslide, while the other class will grow in Christ if they
abide in Christ.
Question: What biblical example or event reveals that backsliding or falling away or
turning back begins from the heart?
Exodus 32:1-5— Ancient Israel in the wilderness or the Church in the wilderness
(Acts 7:37-43) “This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall
the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye
hear. (38) This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake
to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give
unto us: (39) To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in
their hearts turned back again into Egypt, (40) Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before
us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is
become of him. (41) And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol,
and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. (42) Then God turned, and gave them up to
worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel,
have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the
wilderness? (43) Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god

Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond
Babylon.”
The church in the wilderness turned (backslide) in their hearts to Egypt. They didn’t go
back to Egypt physically but went back to Egypt in their hearts by making the image of
the beast. As a result of this backsliding, God also turned and gave them up to worship
the host of heaven (Sun worship). History will repeat itself to the letter in the church that
professes to know the truth (Seventh Day Adventist Church).
Question: Why do the people of God perpetually or consistently backslid into apostasy
or Idolatry?
Jeremiah 8:4-5 “Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall,
and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? (5) Why then is this people of Jerusalem
slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.”
They hold fast to deceit, deception, and falsehood.
Question: Whose deceit, deception, falsehood or lies are they holding that is causing
them to backslide into sin?
Jeremiah 23:25-27 “I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name,
saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. (26) How long shall this be in the heart of the
prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; (27) Which
think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his
neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.”
Jeremiah 14:13-14 “Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye
shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in
this place. (14) Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent
them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto
you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”
The deceit and deception of the prophets (spiritual leaders of the church) are what the
people are holding that is causing them to fall away and backslide. The people also love
messages that will not convict of sin.

Isaiah 30:8-11 “Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may
be for the time to come for ever and ever: (9) That this is a rebellious people, lying children,
children that will not hear the law of the LORD: (10) Which say to the seers, See not; and to
the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy
deceits: (11) Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to
cease from before us.”
Question: How did God profess people react to these false messages, false prophecy,
and false teachings from spiritual leaders?
Jeremiah 5:30-31 “A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; (31) The
prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have
it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?”
One will tend to think the people of God will stand against these false messages or
teachings, but the bible says the people love these false messages. The People of God love
to hear smooth and pleasing messages from the Pastors, Elders, Preachers and other
ministers that will make them continue in sin and backslide the more into the world.
Question: What about in the last days or in our present Adventist Church?
2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but
after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And
they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
Many in Adventism will not endure sound doctrine but run to churches where they can
be free to hear false teachings that will lead them to backslide or turn away from truth
into errors, paganism and spiritualism. This is happening within Adventism. Paul have
written that evil men will enter the church to deceive and lead the spiritually weak astray.
1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”
2 Timothy 3:1, 13 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. . .
(13) But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
Question: Prophetically, in our time, who will Satan finally use to deceive many in
Adventism to fall away or backslide into the world and sin?

2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, (2) That ye be not soon shaken in mind,
or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of
Christ is at hand. (3) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition; (4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is
worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is
God. (5) Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these
things? (6) And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his
time. (7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until
he be taken out of the way. (8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord
shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming . (9) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs
and lying wonders, (10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this cause
God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (12) That they all
might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
The man of sin (the papacy, the antichrist or the mystery of iniquity) will use the power
of Satan (the dragon power or the power of paganism) to deceive the world, especially
those who reject the truth and love unrighteousness. These people love lies, deceit, and
falsehood above truth for this reason they shall heed to the son of perdition and be
deluded to follow him. The dragon power (Satan) will empower the papacy to work
miracles that will deceive the whole world. Many Adventist will be among those who
shall be deceived and deluded by the working power of the Devil.
Question: Which other power will the papacy or antichrist use to lead many to turn
away or backslide from the faith?
Revelation 13:11-15 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had
two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (12) And he exerciseth all the power of the
first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the
first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (13) And he doeth great wonders, so that he
maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, (14) And deceiveth them
that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the
sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image
to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. (15) And he had power to

give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and
cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
The second beast is Apostate Protestant America or otherwise called false prophets.
Revelation 19:20 “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought
miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the
beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire
burning with brimstone.”
Revelation 16:13-14 “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of
the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false
prophet. (14) For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto
the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great
day of God Almighty.”
Revelation 16:19 “And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations
fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the
wine of the fierceness of his wrath.”
Babylon at the end of the world is divided into three: The Dragon (Satanism or Paganism),
The Beast (Roman Catholic or Papacy) and The False Prophet (USA or Apostate Churches
of America). The dragon (Satan or Paganism) gives his power to the Roman catholic
system (beast) and the beast gives his Satanic power to the false churches in America to
deceive many into forming an image to the beast that they may receive the mark and
number of the beast. Many Adventist will follow the beast knowingly and unknowingly
through the false teachings and abominations of Babylon. Babylon is the mother of harlots and
Abomination of the earth.
“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE
MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” (Revelation 17:5)
Question: What are some of the abominations of Babylon that will make many in
Adventism to backslide from the faith to receive the mark and number of the beast?
 Competitive Sports such. FIFA World Cup and the Olympics were inspired by the
Roman Catholic Church or the Papacy. Wrestling, Betting Games etc

 Entertainment: Holly Wood, Nolly Wood, Golly Wood, Bolly Wood and all the
filthy woods of Babylon. The worldly music we listened to and also the
incorporation of this worldly music into the Church by just changing the lyrics.
 Pornography on our phones and laptops.
 Babylonian Fashions.
 The love for wealth above God and the craze to make money. Internet fraudsters
in the Church.
 False worship style.
 False method of Biblical interpretation of prophecies such as futurism, preterism
and historical-critical method (also know that higher criticism) which is employed
by many of our theologians to support women ordination and other to attack our
fundamental beliefs
 The use of Jewelries.
Question: Would false teachers and prophets arise also among God’s professed people
that will attract unclean spirit from Babylon making the house of God a cage of
unclean birds (spirit)?
Jeremiah 5:25-31 “Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have
withholden good things from you. (26) For among my people are found wicked men: they lay
wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. (27) As a cage is full of birds,
so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. (28) They are
waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the
cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not
judge. (29) Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged
on such a nation as this? (30) A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the
land; (31) The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my
people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?”
Revelation 18:1-2 “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven,
having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. (2) And he cried
mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the
habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”
The church of God, Seventh Day Adventist, is not Babylon rather she is Laodicean. But
the same spirit that possesses Babylon, making it the cage of every unclean and hateful
bird, because of her abominations and deception, will also possess the people of God
because of the prophets taught falsely and the people also enjoy these false teachings.

Deuteronomy 13:1-5 “If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and
giveth thee a sign or a wonder, (2) And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he
spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let
us serve them; (3) Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that
dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the
LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (4) Ye shall walk after the
LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye
shall serve him, and cleave unto him. . . . (5) And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams,
shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which
brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust
thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou
put the evil away from the midst of thee.”
Question: What are some of the false teachings from Babylon that we hear in
Adventism today?
 You cannot keep the commandments of God, therefore you cannot live a perfect
life. We will continue to sin until Christ's second advent when he will change our
corruptible nature.
 Your diet or what you eat do not have any link with your spirituality, therefore
you will be saved by eating whatever you like so long as you are moderate in what
you eat.
 Women ordination into the Pastoral office or priestly office.
 Some are born gay or lesbian or with other sexual disorder, therefore we need to
accept them the way they are and even ordain them as Elders, Deacons and
Pastors.
 We can worship God according to our dictate or judgment and with any kind of
musical instruments. It does not matter how you worship God.
 The first beast of Revelation 13 is not the Roman Catholic system, it is just a Satanic
power. Let us stop pointing fingers at the Roman Catholic System, any system can
fulfill this prophecy.
 The writings of Mrs. Ellen G. White is just a lesser light to the Bible, therefore her
writings are irrelevant and outdated. We can only use her for personal devotions
and not for the establishment of faith and doctrine.
 My appearance, both in Church and outside, as Christians does not matter. God
knows your heart, the heart is all that matters to God. The dress reform is not
salvational.
 The National Sunday Law is not real and will not come.

 Probation does not close first with Seventh Day Adventist when the decree goes
forth. Probation closes with everybody and there is still time for Seventh Day
Adventist to repent when they are tested on the Sabbath/Sunday Issue. It is taught
by most Adventist that an Adventist can still repent and chose to receive the
Sabbath seal even after he or she has failed the test.
Question: If you are convicted to return to God, how are we to return unto God from
our backsliding?
 We are to acknowledge our iniquity:
Jeremiah 3:12-13 “Go and proclaim these words toward the north [Northern Tribe], and
say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to
fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for
ever. (13) Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the
LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and
ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
 We are to put away all the sins and abominations previous mentioned from God’s
sight:
Jeremiah 4:1 “If thou wilt return, O Israel [Seventh day Adventist], saith the LORD, return
unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not
remove.”
We must ask for a new heart to be converted
Jeremiah 4:2-4 “And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in
righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they
glory. (3) For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your
fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. (4) Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take
away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury
come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.”
Colossians 2:11-12 “In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,
in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: (12) Buried with
him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of
God, who hath raised him from the dead.”

Question: Why is God begging us to come back to Him or to return to Him from our
backsliding?
Jeremiah 4:5-7 “Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the
trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into

Conclusion
The Lord is begging us today as he did to ancient Israel & Judah to return to Him from
our backsliding because the King of the North, the lion, Babylon the great, is coming with
wrath to test everyone in Adventism when the national Sunday Law will be enacted.
Adventist in America will be tested first followed by Adventist all over the world. The
test will be on the Sabbath [The whole Law of God] and Sunday issue [Idol Sabbath of
Babylon or sun worship]. This test will prove your character and my character. If you are
holding on to any Babylonian abomination today, you need to ask for the grace to put
them away unless you will wonder after the beast as easily as those who have always
love the things of Babylon. When this happens, you will have both the mark and number
of the beast and will be eternally lost.
