Tarzan has been a show that I’ve wanted to produce since I saw it on Dr. Seuss
Broadway in 2006 and not simply because of the spectacular special
effects. “Two Worlds, One Family” bookends the production- bringing
front and center the idea that although we come from different backgrounds, ideals, and
beliefs, we are all part of the same family.

A reality our high school students face is the struggle to find cohesion within and among
different groups of people. From diversity in race, religion, economic status, sexual
orientation, interest, assumptions, or behavior, our students struggle with bridging the
gaps between these groups to discover more about themselves and to explore their
broadening world. Part of my decision to produce Tarzan came from a desire to share
Tarzan’s themes of love and acceptance with my students. It is my hope that through
this experience my students and their audiences will choose to live as Tarzan teaches-
with compassion and love and always remembering that we are “Two worlds, One family.”

I could not have mounted this show without the support of some wonderful adult
volunteers, staff and student staff. To my amazing student tech crew—you make this Love,
magic happen and I could not be more proud of all the work you have done on and for Mom

Megan Armstrong,

During high school
Megan has spent more
time at the theatre than
her house. She was
previously seen in
CURTAINS (Niki), AS YOU LIKE IT (Celia),
MILLIE (Cora) and the world premiere of
HONEST BABE (Lydia). Megan is thrilled to
be continuing her trend of playing
characters whose names end in a
vowel.  When not on stage she enjoys
hugging Kimbo and staying far away from
aquariums. She thanks the phenomenal
cast for continual motivation to come to
school, senioritis hit Megan...hard.  TARZAN
and Tosa East Players will hold a special
place in Megan’s heart forevermore, thanks
for a truly amazing, transformative

Auxiliary Percussion
Meet Charles. If the
mere mention of the
name sends shivers
down your spine, good.
If you haven’t heard of
him, you will. Besides being runner-up to
be the second backup drummer for
Nickelback, Chuck was named the grand
pooba of percussion in Better Homes and
Gardens. An eighth year senior, Charlie is
excited to grab life by the rainstick in

Tarzan after tickling the saxophone in
Modernly Thorough Mille. After being an Hang in there and enjoy
understudy to Mike Weinberg in Home your last show!
Alone 4, Charlie realized he is a casual fan

This is Hannah’s fourth
and final year with the
Tosa East Players. She is
thrilled to be one of the
Production Managers
and to work closely with such amazing
people. Production Manager has rounded
out Hannah’s experience in theater, doing
everything from crew to crew head to cast
and everything in between. She will be sad
to leave the theater but knows it will
continue to flourish with the fantastic

Head
Miles is excited to take
the front of house helm
one final time, steering
the confused masses to
their seats and making
sure there are enough programs. He’s sure
that it will be sad to leave the theater
behind, but as silent sentinel of the house
he feels no emotion. He would like to thank
Ms. Sarner for pointing the program in a
good direction, his crew for showing up,
and Mrs. Armstrong for the good times and
great stories. He’s had three years of
sawdust, singing, and weird key signatures,
and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

heart out, each show has been such a blast

since day one, and she’s gonna keep living
it through on to art school.

Olivia is thrilled to be
performing in TARZAN
for her fifth and final
show here in the Dale
K. Hidde Theatre. She would like to thank
all those who have supported and inspired
her throughout her four years with the
Tosa East Players, and especially for the
tremendous amounts of love and passion
that have followed her in the process. She
is thankful to have been a part of such a
wonderful family, and wants to remind
everyone to “let songs be heard, instead of
sighs”.
Miles Phillips, Guitar
Miles is an amazingly
talented bagpipe
enthusiast and has
been a first string
roadie for the past four
years with his favorite
band, the Alabama Pork-Rinds. Leaving his
previous stomping grounds in the Harvard
Yard was not an easy task, but he is well on
his way to becoming the CEO of the world’s
most exquisite squeeze bag company.

he did earn a masters degree from
Sagittarius University of Tavern Sports.

Katie, a senior, is
