e a Reforma Protestante

Eusebius Pamphilus, Vita Constantine. 4.36
Kurt Aland, Barbara Aland, The Text of the New Testament. 53
Introdução
Perto do fim do quarto século, as limitações e
imperfeições das antigas versões latinas
tornaram-se evidentes para os líderes da Igreja
Romana.
dias, Sophoronius Eusebius Hieronymus,
conhecido nos nossos dias como São Jerônimo,
fizesse uma revisão da bíblia latina.

Introdução
Quando a cidade [de Constantinopla] caiu,
muitos dos escribas e monges fugiram para
a Europa Ocidental, levando consigo seus
manuscritos.

Erasmo tenha sido a produção do texto crítico do
Novo Testamento Grego em 1516. A influência dessa

Novum Instrumentum
O mais sério dos problemas da primeira
edição do Grego do Novo Testamento não
foram seus inúmeros erros tipográficos.
Erasmo se baseou em manuscritos do
12/13o. século que representam o texto
Bizantino Imperial, o Texto Koinê ou o Texto
Majoritário (…) o mais recente e pobre dos
vários tipos de texto do Novo
Testamento.
Kurt Aland, Barbara Aland, The Text of the New Testament, 4.
Novum Instrumentum
As primeiras edições do Textus Receptus
assemelham-se diretamente com o tipo texto
Bizantino, mas frequentemente diverge dele em
ocasiões significativas. Nessas edições o texto deriva
primeiramente de uma pequena e limitada seleção
de manuscritos tardios, como os utilizados por
Erasmo, Ximenes ou seus sucessores imediatos. O
texto dessas edições impressas difere do texto
atestadas.
William Pierpont, Maurice Robinson, The New Testament in the Original Greek: Byzantine Textform 2005, i.
Novum Instrumentum
• Apesar de ser o primeiro texto grego
impresso, esse texto era extremamente
problemático.
1. Uma comparação entre as anotações
de Erasmo no Códice 2 e o texto do NI
demonstra que várias das poucas
alterações textuais propostas por ele
não foram utilizadas na versão
impressa;
