What are your thoughts regarding government’s plan to distribute condoms to schools in order to address
the rising incidence of HIV infection among adolescents? Give you own recommendations

Philippines is currently not part of the 3rd world country, thus we called it now as a developing
country. If there is a change in our country, people also in some ways should accept new things and changes
in life. Manpower is progressing in our country but the food supplies and jobs are not enough to
accommodate its people. This is because of overpopulation due to premarital sex.
The unprotected sex leads to rising incidence of overpopulation and transmission of HIV infection
among the adolescents. Sex as they say is a gift from God which is sacred and allowed only for married
couples. But, we cannot control the thoughts of every human to stop / avoid the sacred act to copulate. Even
though there is sex education within the family, it is still a free will if one wants to do it. More than half of
population is baptized as Roman Catholic, so most of the people are against regarding the government’s
plan to distribute condoms to schools in order to address rising incidence of STD’s. We should be
enlightened that not all ideas are bad, distributing these condoms does not mean to succumb having sex. It
rather makes the students think about it and explore facts of having the danger of unprotected sex.
I am pro- government because it is one of the ways to control transmission of STD’s and controlling
overpopulation. I believe that by distributing these condoms, it will increase awareness regarding the
transmission of sexual diseases and control overpopulation. It will result to a Domino effect because it will
suppress poverty and other problems in our country like lack of jobs, food supplies and shelter. This is just
a temporary answer in the current situations, it is better to have actions rather than nothing. That is why we
are called a developing country. Words of wisdom cannot fully change / help the current situations, it is
because as I have said, we are made by God and gifted with a free will. So, every one of us can decide for
their own lives or path to take. We should be open-minded nowadays and accept new ideas for
improvement. Condoms are contraceptives which is just given for us to have options rather than nothing. It
is the will of every student if they like to use it, it is just a reminder that in case it crossed your mind to
commit the sacred act, you have options/choices in having it the safest way.
