Chapter 1: Meet Kaorii

The sun shone brightly outside, everyone was enjoying the spring weather except one person.
Kaorii sat at the kitchen table studying for her math exam. She clutched her head angrily. ‘Grade 12
trigonometry…why did I sign up for it?’ Kaorii looked around at the room for anything…anything that
could redirect her attention do she could do that instead of her math. She got up and headed to the
living room. She leaned on the door fame, and smiled as her eyes met with the family portrait over
the mantle.
This was this year’s family photo. Her older brother Ryochi had even flown in from Saginaw Valley
where he was studying the sciences, just to get the picture taken.
Kaorii brought her hand up to her mouth as she yawned. Turning her head, she looked at the clock
on the wall over her head. Hmm…3:00…why when she thought about that time did something nag
at the back of her brain? Almost as if she was suppose to be doing something important. Oh well.
She shrugged off the nagging feeling, and lay down on the couch to rest. She had been up since
9:00 this morning studying.
She closed her eyes for a moment, only to be awakened a second later. She opened her eyes slowly
to see her pet cat, Kiro, sitting on her chest. Kaorii smiled warmly at him. Kiro had always been so
nice to her. Never leaving her side…believing her when others wouldn’t. Kiro gave Kaorii such a
sense of security, and she felt like her little friend and herself were made for each other. The both
of them were different. Kiro with his looks, and Kaorii with the way she acted and thought. Kiro, for
the most part, looked like a cat. He had four black paws and black spots scattered around his body.
His fur was a creamy yellow, and his black ears made him look like a stuffed animal.
Kaorii just looked like your normal 18 year old, layered shoulder-length dark brown hair, and clear,
angelic sky blue eyes. Kaorii always saw things differently. She was hardly ever negative, and never
saw the glass half empty, but half full. Most people thought she was weird for always being so
optimistic. Kiro twitched both of his tails, cocking his head to one side.
Those two tails of Kiro\'s...Kaorii had always wondered about that. She had no idea what kind of cat
he was, or if he was even a cat for that matter. Kaorii had found her little kitty near Kagome\'s
family\'s well at her family shrine last time she was there.
\'Kagome...\' Kaorii missed her friend so much. At that point, the realization of her day\'s schedule
hit her like a baseball bat hitting a baseball. \"Oh my god\" Ryochi was coming all the way from
Saginaw Valley to take her to Tokyo so she chould visit her friend. She would be staying at the
Higurashi shrine for the next week for March Break. Kaorii hurried upstairs to pack her things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryochi drove home quickly from the airport. He hoped Kaorii wouldn\'t be mad at him for being a
little late...if he was.
Ryochi turned the corner hastily, only to have to slam on his breaks immediately. He slapped his
hands on the steering wheel and cursed under his breath. He was caught in a traffic jam, and would
for sure be late picking his little sister up.
15 minutes later, the traffic started moving. \"Long enough\" Ryochi rolled his eyes sarcastically. It
didn\'t take a lot to get Ryochi Kimaruki angry, that\'s for sure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaorii waited patiently on her front steps. She sat on top of one of her suitcases, with her chin
rested in her cupped hands. She heaved a sigh. \'What was taking him so long?\' As if he heard her
thought, Kaorii saw a silver Honda CRV pull up in the driveway. A happy grin spread across her
face. She got up as a tall handsome young man stepped out of the drivers seat. His short spiky
brown hair swayed in the wind as Koarii ran at him and jumped into his arms. \"Ryochi!\" Kaorii
exclaimed. \"You\'re here...finally!What took you so long?\" Kaorii playfully put her hands on her
hips and looked sternly at him.
All of Ryochi\'s traffic angers disappeared when he saw his sister\'s face. \"Traffic\" he sighed.
The two of them went and got Kaorii\'s luggage. \"What are you taking? Your whole room?\" Ryochi
managed to say. \"Not my WHOLE room...just half of it.\" she teased. Ryochi slammed the trunk,
and got in the car.
Kiro jumped up on Kaorii\'s lap, just before she shut the door. The drive to the airport was a quiet
one. \"So...\" Ryochi broke the silence. \"I guess i should tell you how this is going to work. I\'ll
drop you off at the airport and will watch you board the plane. I cannot come on the trip with you,
but i imagine you will be fine. At the end of the week, call me from the airport when you arrive back
here, i\'ll be staying at home, and i\'ll come get you.\" \"Alright\" she whispered. Kaorii looked out
the window and saw the airport, and lots of planes take off and land. \"We\'re here\" Ryochi said
uneasily.
The two of them got Kaorii set up for boarding the plane. Kaorii gave her brother one last hug
before departing. \"Goodbye. See you in one week\" she called over her shoulder, before she
disappeared into the crowd of people.
Kaorii sat quietly on the plane. Luckily they allowed her to bring Kiro with her. All the people at the
airport thought he was a stuffed animal. She looked out the window nervously. She hadn\'t seen
her friend for a while. Would they still have things in common? All she could do was hope for the
best when she arrived in Japan...

Alright guys, First chapter complete. Please R&R!! this is my first time writing something like this. I

Please. i need it...I can handle anything. I\'m still new at this,so i still could use your input. (*hangs
her head in shame for not being a pro yet*) Oh well, i can only get better right guys? Right?
(*Crowd leaves*) Awww c\'mon.:P

Disclaimer: I do NOT own any characters from InuYasha. All Characters that do not appear in the
Series are my characters though.

Kaorii opened her eyes to find herself still on the plane. How long had it been since she took off?
Curiously she looked at her watch around her wrist. Let’s see…5:00, see had been in the plane for
90 minutes. How much longer would she have to sit on the plane? Actually, the more she thought
about it, the more she realized she had no idea. She sighed deeply. “Oh Well.”
Looking out the window, she saw a clear blue sky, a few scattered white fluffy clouds, and lastly, a
few birds flying below. She sighed again. “Excuse me miss, is there a problem?” a kind, plump
stewardess with ebony hair came up to her. “Oh no. I’m sorry. Thanks anyways but I don’t need
anything.” Kaorii flushed a light crimson when the stewardess left.
“Could all passengers please put on their seatbelts, we are going to be landing soon.” Said the pilot
through the speakers. Kaorii fastened her seatbelt and once again stared out the window.
She saw a couple of buildings and some tiny dots, which she guessed were people, walking around.
She sighed inwardly. Lately, she had been feeling so…out of it. She didn’t feel like her self some of
the time. On some days, she would walk around as if she was a puppet, and someone was
controlling her from somewhere else. It also felt like something or someone was missing from her
life. The thing that would make her feel wanted, whole, and once and for all, excepted. Snapping
her from her thoughts, the plane slowly landed at the airport.
Kaorii got off the plane and went to retrieve her luggage. Waiting outside the airport for a cab, she
tugged nervously at her denim skirt. Even though Kagome and Kaorii had been friends since they
were little, it had always been hard to see her for the first time after a year of being apart. She
signaled once more, and a cab suddenly appeared in front of her. Slowly she got into the cab.
Absolutely dreading the idea of getting there, and not having anything to talk about with Kagome.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“When’s she going to be here?” Kagome sat at her table waiting impatiently for her friend to arrive.
“Soon dear. Soon” Mrs. Higurashi tried to calm her anxious daughter. Mrs. Higurashi watched
Kagome with a sadden face. All week Kagome had been preparing their house for the arrival of their
guest. “You guys will have a great time together. Don’t worry about it.” Mrs. Higurashi knew what
was upsetting her daughter. “I guess your right mum.” Kagome’s face brightened up. Little did she
know, she wouldn’t stay happy for long…
“Die InuYasha…” a cool, emotionless voice echoed from the Forest of InuYasha. “Damn it…”
InuYasha huffed. He had trouble wielding Tetsusaiga. Ever since Totosai made it heavier, he could
barely pick it up, let alone try and destroy anything. At lightening fast speed, Sesshomaru was face
to face with him, Tokijin drawn. A blue aura surrounded Tokijin as he slashed at InuYasha. InuYasha
just barely escaped the sword as he pulled Tetsusaiga in front to shield himself. Both InuYasha and
Sesshomaru had a few cuts. For some reason, InuYasha had been able to create the Wind Scar.
Luckily, Sesshomaru managed to escape it with only a few minor injuries. At that moment, an arrow
was shot. Turning around Sesshomaru noticed that stupid Miko, Kagome had shot an arrow at him.
“Sesshomaru, your gonna die” was all InuYasha could say before Sesshomaru felt the purity arrow
pierce his flesh. Before the arrow actually purified him, Tenseiga pulsed, and glowed a bright white,
before carrying it’s master to safety. “Kagome…” Sango and Miroku turned around suddenly. They
didn’t know their friend arrived until they saw her purity arrow shoot passed them. “Oh My God…
I’ve got to get back.” Kagome said in horror as she realized Kaorii was going to be at her house in a
short while. “And where do you think YOUR going?” InuYasha fumed. “Home. My friend is coming
and I’ve got to be there.” Kagome put one leg over the rim of the well. “Oh and InuYasha, don’t try
and bring me back. I don’t want her to know about you guys yet.” With that, Kagome swung her
other leg over, and disappeared into the well.
A yellow cab pulled up in front of the Higurashi shrine. Kaorii stepped out, and looked hesitantly up
the stairs. Slowly, she went to the trunk and pulled out all of her bags. “Thank-you so much.” She
paid the cab driver, and started up the stairs. It was 7:30 and Kaorii was starving. She hadn’t eaten
since she ate that wrap she had before she left for the airport. She looked up to see Kagome
emerge from the shrine that contained the Bone Eaters Well. “Kagome?” Kaorii called. Immediately,
Kagome turned and saw Kaorii. “Kaorii.” Kagome exclaimed, running to see her friend. Kaorii almost
seemed lighter when she saw Kagome’s smiling face. Almost all the weight of not being able to talk
or anything was lifted from her chest.
Kaorii dropped all her bags, and was quickly in a tight hug from Kagome. “You’ve finally come!!”
Kaorii could tell Kagome was really glad to see her, which meant see had been waiting for her.
Kaorii felt somewhat relieved. “Here let me help you with that.” Kagome helped her friend carry her
suitcases.
“So…” Kaorii couldn’t think of anything to fill the awful silence between her and Kagome. “What
were you doing in the shrine?” “What do you mean?” Kaorii could see that she had asked Kagome
something that she either nervous about telling her, or embarrassed. “Oh nothing…” a huge sweat
drop appeared on her face. ‘I can’t tell her about InuYasha and the others…she won’t believe me’
Kagome thought in sorrow. “I know there is Kagome, you can tell me.” Kaorii turned to face
Kagome. “Well…No I can’t. I’m sorry” Kagome hung her head, a little ashamed that she couldn’t
even tell her best friend about her time traveling. “Why not? We never used to have secrets before?
Why start now?” Her voice was becoming a little peeved. “I’m sorry Kaorii, I can’t tell you yet.”
Kagome tried to smile at Kaorii. “But you will tell me, right?” Kagome nodded her head, and Kaorii’s
face brightened. ‘I guess she just needs some time before she can tell me. That’s alright.’ Kaorii
thought of the possibilities of what Kagome’s secret was. “Kaorii!!” a voice exclaimed from the
house. Kaorii’s thoughts were quickly broken up as she looked up and saw Sota running towards
her. “Hey Sota” Kaorii smiled at him and suddenly felt his little body around her waist. Looking
down, she noticed he was giving her a hug. “Alright Sota, let her go.” Mrs. Higurashi immerged
from the house. “Hello Kaorii.” “Hello Mrs. Higurashi,” Kaorii said, bowing slightly. The four of them
went into the house and Mrs. Higurashi made some sushi for them. All was quiet until a faint
“Kagome” was heard from outside. Kagome looked up and thought the worst thing that could
happen, was happening. InuYasha was angry and had come to the future to get her. A little
embarrassed, Kagome stood up and went outside. Since Kaorii was told to stay, she didn’t move.
When she heard an odd conversation, she just couldn’t stay. “No I told you, I’m staying with my
friend Kaorii for a while,” Kagome barked. “No your not. You’re coming back with me. You can see
your stupid friend any time. We have to look for the Jewel Shards.” “STUPID???? STUPID???”
Kagome bellowed. InuYasha gulped as he saw Kagome’s facial expression getting angrier and
angrier. Kaorii heard a very angry “OSAUWRI” followed by a loud crash. She grabbed her bag,
which had a first aid kit in it. That person could be hurt, after all. Kaorii got out the door just in time
to see Kagome push someone into the shrine and close the doors. Quietly she followed, hoping to
find out one Kagome was talking to.
When Kaorii reached the doors, she slid the door open a crack, only to find that Kagome wasn’t in
there. ‘Weird’ Kaorii thought. ‘I swear I saw her go in here! Maybe it has something to do with this
well. After all, I found Kiro around here, and he isn’t any ordinary cat.’ Kaorii decide to investigate.
Maybe Kagome was inside the Bone Eaters Well!
Kaorii took a chance and jumped into the well. When she jumped in, black, purple and blue ribbons
of colour swirled surrounded her. It was almost as if she were jumping into water, but she found
herself completely dry when the colours faded. After she shook off the shock of what had just
happened to her, she looked up to see that she was in a newer version of the well. To her left, she
noticed a rope ladder going up to the top of the well. Climbing up, she noticed she wasn’t in the
shrine anymore. Instead, she was in what looked to be a forest. Huge green, lushes trees stood
atop miles of rolling fields of grass. She closed her eyes and let the cool breeze play gently with her
hair. Suddenly, she let herself being taken in by anger once more. ‘Is this what Kagome was hiding
from me? A…a forest? Of all things. I thought she hiding something much bigger than this!’ Kaorii
opened her eyes and growled. Instead of turning around and going back into the well, she decided
to go deeper into the forest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
He lay there, unconsciously. Blood dripping from his wound. Lower level demons were licking their
lips, waiting for him to finally be weak enough for them to attack. Suddenly, they heard a noise. All
the demons scattered in fear.

All right Guys! Chapter 2 finally complete! Anyways… Thanx to Danae who reviewed. Thank-you so
much^_^ I appreciate it sooo much. I boo the people who read it and didn’t review. Well actually,
thanx for reading my story!:D I’m sorry, this chapter was a little slow too. Next chapter gets better.
It’s called Gone?!? Check it out! I’ll be updating soon. Bye for now!

Disclaimer: Once again, I do NOT own any characters from the InuYasha series. My characters are
the ones that don’t appear in the series.

P.S: PLEASE Review people. Please!!!! How do I know how I’m doing if you don’t review? C’mon
people!! I know your reading my story. =) Please??? >_<

She walked deeper into the forest. Every so often, she would turn around, making sure no one was
following her. Kaorii had this weird feeling like someone was watching her. Coming to a clearing,
she noticed a shadow of a person lying against a tree. She gasped when she saw the figure
bleeding. Promptly, she ran over to him, and took her bag off her back. She tried to evaluate the
damage, but because of his haori, she couldn’t really see. Making a fast decision, she removed his
haori. She gasped slightly when she saw his figure, but also at his injuries. The right side of his
chest looked like a flamethrower burned him. ‘Weird’ she thought. Aside from the burn mark, there
was blood running freely from the wound, and from his shoulder. Kaorii looked at his left shoulder,
only to find that there was no arm. ‘What? He doesn’t have an arm? How can he still be alive after
all these injuries? I don’t think this is any ordinary person…’ Her thoughts were broken up when he
grunted and shuttered slightly. Kaorii looked down to see that she had touched his wound. “Ewww…
ewww. Gross gross gross” she screamed. Her screaming awoke Sesshomaru.
Kaorii found herself looking into the most beautiful golden eyes she had ever seen. She went a dark
shade of crimson when she finally snapped back to reality to find him staring at her. “Gomen…I
didn’t mean to…”.
“Kiro?” she called. Seconds later, her little friend appeared beside her. She whispered something
into his ear and he dashed off. Kaorii opened her bag, and took out a bottle of disinfectant,
bandages, a bowl, and a cloth. Sesshomaru eyed her suspiciously. “What are you doing wench?” He
asked, trying to get up. “For your information, my name is Kaorii, not wench.” Kaorii pushed my
back down by his shoulders, with amazing strength, which even surprised Sesshomaru. “Take your
hands off me woman.” “I told you…my name is Kaorii.” She spat. “And no. You’re hurt. Just stay
there.” Kaorii’s voice became normal again.
While she waited for Kiro, she put some disinfectant on the cloth and rubbed it over his wound.
“Ack.” Sesshomaru snarled. ‘What the hell is that stuff?’ he thought to himself. As if she read his
mind, she smiled sweetly. “Don’t worry, it’s just disinfectant, you’ll be fine.” She laughed innocently.
Kiro returned shortly after, with the leaves Kaorii told him to get. Delicately, she began to mush up
the leaves in the bowl she had brought; with a rock Kiro had found her.
Kaorii had learned all about leaves, berries, twigs, and bark and how they could help in the healing
process at camp she went to a couple of years ago.
When the leaves were mashed up, she grabbed a handful of the goop and applied it gingerly to his
wound. “What will this do…Kaorii?” He asked. “It will help your healing, so that you don’t heal with a
infection in your body.”
Next, she picked up the bandages, and began to wrap it around his upper-chest. He looked off in
the distance as she applied the bandages. Every couple of minutes, when she wrapped the
bandages around his back, it looked like she was embracing him. For some reason, this made
Sesshomaru’s heart flutter. He could smell her scent. Lavender and vanilla mixed together. It was
very intoxicating. Every time she came in closer, he would get a whiff of her, and would make him
almost faint with anxiety. Right now, he had to fight the very urge to grab her and kiss her, to make
her his own.
But why did he feel this way? It was nothing like Lord Sesshomaru-Lord of the Western Lands had
ever felt before. Could it be love? No. It couldn’t be. It must be that…disinfectant???
“Oh by the way…” she started. “There is going to be a chemical reaction between the leaves and the
disinfectant. You may experience feelings or something else that you wouldn’t normally feel. Don’t
worry. You’ll be fine in about a day.” Sesshomaru sighed inwardly as a flood of relief washed over
him.
She then helped him back into his haori. He got up without a word. Packing up her stuff, she began
to run after him. “Wait…let me come with you. I should make sure that you heal properly.” She
tried to catch up behind him, but he disappeared into the forest. \"Humph...\" she folded her arms
across her chest and stomped away. \"Rude...Inconsiderate....b*****....after I save his life...\" Her
‘down’ time of cursing was short lived. Shortly after she cooled off, a few dozen demons came out
of hiding. Feeling the presence of someone or something else, she turned around to be looking
directly in the eyes of a rather large, snake-like demon. She screamed loudly and began running
away as fast as she could. Taking into account that Kaorii was wearing a pair of those huge pairs of
black leather boots, you know, the one that went up to your knees and had a string up the front to
do them up, she can’t run very fast.
Unfortunately, the snake youkai caught up with her, and grabbed her with its tail. It squeezed her
harder and harder, until she just couldn’t take it. “Eh…eh.” She cried out in pain.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Lord Sesshomaru! You’re back!” Jaken proclaimed. “Lord Sesshomaru!!!” Rin exclaimed. Both were
happy to see Sesshomaru back from his encounter with InuYasha unharmed. (or at least from what
they could see). “Let’s go Jaken. Come along Rin.” Sesshomaru said, voice unemotional, as usual.
They were just about to leave when Sesshomaru heard another one of Kaorii’s cries. Along with her
cries, he smelled several other youkai. “Jaken, stay here with Rin. I’ll be back.” “Yes milord, but…”
Jaken was unable to continue because Sesshomaru was already running top speed through the
forest.
‘This disinfectant must be taking a toll on me…I actually care whether or not she lives or not…she’s
just a petty human.’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What?!? What do you mean she’s not here?” Kagome screamed. “She was just here before I went
to talk to InuYasha! Where could she have gone?” “Well, She left after you said “OSAUWRI” to
InuYasha.” Sota said thoughtfully. \"That\'s right, I saw her go into the shrine after you.\" Mrs,
Higurashi recalled. \"Oh no...\"murmured. Her worst thoughts were confirmed. Kaorii had followed
her back through the well. \'I had seen her open the doors, but i thought it was just Sota or mum.
InuYasha also said he felt someone come through the well. I thought it was just a youkai who had
fallen in, and had just gotten out. Plus, InuYasha said that the \"thing\" didn\'t seem afraid and
scared, but angry and breathless. I guess it WAS Kaorii.\' Kagome thought sadly. Kagome ran out
and down to the well so she could go back to the feudal era and find Kaorii...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaorii was thrown across the ground and hit her head against a tree. She opened her eyes, still
dazed to see a larger form of Kiro protecting her. \'i must be hallucinating\' she clutched her head.
She saw a brilliant white light flash before her, before she let the darkness consume her.
Disclaimer: Once again, I only own the characters that don\'t belong in the InuYasha Series...blah
blah blah...
Sesshomaru slowly picked her up, careful not to harm her. Resting her head on his fur draped
around his shoulder, he for the first time; noticed all her delicate features. What surprised him the
most was her outfit. How peculiar it was. She was wearing a denim skirt that went down to her a
little bit higher than the middle of her thighs, black leather boots that went up to her knees, and
had a black leather shoelace that did up the front of her boots. She had a white tank top on, and a
red sweatshirt. Her sweatshirt was done up half way, just under her bosoms. Her tank top was
down pretty short, short enough to catch a good glimpse of her skin. He carried her back over to
where Jaken, Ah-Un, and Rin where. ‘She will make a good playmate for Rin’ he thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘I don’t know why Lord Sesshomaru even bothers with this human’ Jaken thought miserably. Rin
was running circles around him, throwing flowers over his head that she had just picked.
“Sometimes I question his intelligence…” Jaken sighed desolately. “Jaken” a certain angry demon
lord had been listening to Jaken’s whole conversation with himself. Jaken knew exactly who that
lord was. “Eeep…” Jaken turned around nervously to find Sesshomaru standing behind him, with an
unreadable expression on his face. “Mi-Milord.” Jaken stuttered, huge sweat drops appeared all over
the back of his head. Swiftly, he walked past Jaken, stepping on his head as he did so. “Lord
Sesshomaru…” Jaken mumbled through a mouthful of dirt. “Come Rin. We are leaving.” Sesshomaru
said stoically. “Okey-dokey Lord Sesshomaru.” Rin sang, grabbing the reins of Ah-Un and trailing
behind her lord.
“Lord Sesshomaru, Rin is tired. Can we stop?” she asked innocently. Sesshomaru looked up at the
sky and decided it was time to stop. “Alright Rin. Go get some fish. Jaken?” “Yes milord?” “Go and
get wood for Rin.” “Of course Lord Sesshomaru.” Jaken bowed furiously and left to go get the wood.
Sesshomaru sat against a rock, and propped Kaorii up against his right shoulder. Perhaps tonight,
he would be able to sleep…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Kaorii? Kaorii…” Kagome tried desperately to find her friend. “InuYasha this is all your fault!”
Kagome stated. “My fault?” InuYasha was a little taken back by her words. “Yes! If you hadn’t come
to the future, I wouldn’t have had to take you back, and Kaorii wouldn’t have followed.” InuYasha
could see the tears brimming in her eyes.
“Feh.” Was all InuYasha could say before he jumped up into a nearby tree. Kagome watched sadly
as the hanyou grumbled and cursed under his breath. “Don’t worry Kagome, We’ll find her…” Miroku
put his hand on her shoulder. Kagome turned to see Miroku’s sympathetic face. “Thanks Miroku.”
Kagome sniffed back the tears that had managed to escape her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaorii moaned slightly as she stirred in her sleep. She felt something warm and furry against her
left cheek. It felt a lot like Kiro’s fur. Except…’Kiro’s fur isn’t as long…’ she thought drowsily. She
brushed the fur out of her face, but found that it was really soft. The fur was like rubbing one of
those minx coats…you just couldn’t stop touching them. She began stroking the fur softly, then
more harshly as she realized that it made her feel so protected…touching this…’What exactly am I
touching???’ she thought bewildered.
She opened her eyes a crack to see a familiar face, but from where was it familiar? She stared for a
moment at the familiar blue crescent moon, magenta stripes on either side of his face, and his
silvery hair. She scratched her head in complete and utter frustration. Who was he?
Sesshomaru felt her moving, and turned to stare his gaze at her. She seemed to be thinking…like
she was deep in thought. He watched her bring her finger up to her lips as if she were lost in her
own thoughts. She was brought back from her contemplation when she felt a pair of cold golden
eyes staring intently at her. ‘Those are the most beautiful golden eyes I have ever seen…Hey…
Haven’t I already thought that?’ She gasped slightly as she remembered that it was the guy she had
saved earlier. Kaorii then blushed furiously as she realized that it was HIS fur that she had been
touching, and HIS body she had been clinging to. She slowly backed away, trembling. His eyes
glowed in the moonlight. “Wh-What are you?” She quietly whispered. “Your worst nightmare…a
demon” his entire body glowed a mysterious glow. He smirked inwardly as he felt her grow
intimidated. In a flash, the feeling of intimidation was gone from her scent, and was replaced with a
feeling of suspicion and denial.
Kaorii eyed him suspiciously. “No you’re not. The demons I was taught about were all ruthless
killers. If you were a demon, you would have killed me already.” He was quite surprised actually,
but he kept it well masked. Why didn’t she believe him?
He got up and began walking towards her. She stood up too, and did her best to be eye level with
him. When he came closer, she spoke “Of course, you’re not like any human I’ve ever met.” She
gingerly traced his facial markings. He felt a growl of peace and arousal begin to form in the back of
his chest and begin to rise to his throat, as her delicate fingers caressed him, but fought it back and
tried his best not to let any sign of pleasure show.
Then a sudden thought popped into his head. Why had he let her take care of him, and why had he
saved her? Kaorii’s touch brought him back from his contemplation and growled fiercely. “Take your
hands off me wench.” Sesshomaru grabbed her wrist and dangled her a few inches off the ground.
“I thought we had already been through this…I’m KAORII.” She said, a little annoyed as she spun
around slowly. “C’mon say it with me. Ka-or-ii.” Her hands slashed through the air at the syllables.
“Put me down.” She commanded. “No. I, Taiyoukai of the Western Lands never give into the
demands or commands of a simple-minded creature such as you.” He said icily to her. She glared
heatedly at him for a moment. “Lord Sesshomaru…Put me down now!” She hissed.
Sesshomaru was a little surprised that she knew his name…he didn’t even recall telling her. “How do
you know my name?” He narrowed his eyes at her suspiciously.
“…” Was her reply. A faint pink stained her cheeks as she become aware that he was still eyeing
her. ‘How did I know?’ Kaorii was a bit embarrassed.
He growled. Was she stalking him or something? Sesshomaru tightened his grip on her wrist, which
made her wince slightly. He continued to tighten his grip until he saw a trickle of blood fall from her
wrist. Sesshomaru let go of her abruptly to catch the droplet of blood to taste. Heaven—the minute
her blood touched his lips, it was pure happiness…almost like heaven. Suddenly, Sesshomaru felt as
though he was being pulled either, back in time, or forward in time. He couldn’t tell…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She kept falling, falling into a bottomless pit of her own grief. No matter how hard he tried, he just
couldn’t reach her. He called out her name, but she didn’t answer. He tried shaking her. Finally, she
looked up at him with a blank look on her face. It was like looking into a pair of black holes when he
looked into her eyes. She looked, but didn’t see him. He knew she listened but didn’t hear…she
talked, but didn’t say anything. He cried briefly for her. She was on her own now. All he could do
was watch…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sesshomaru was brought back from his “reverie” when he swallowed her blood. He recognized that
message. It was a dream he had had a long time ago. Trying desperately to forget it, he had buried
it deep into the depths of his soul. He knew who the guy was…it was him. But who was the woman?
She kind of reminded him of Kaorii, but this woman had long, raven black hair, and blood red eyes.
Kaorii had none of those. He looked frostily at her, as she sat on the ground and attended to the
wound he had given her.
When she felt his stoic gaze upon her, she looked up at him, and he sensed a bit of bitterness and
sorrow in her aroma.
‘He’s just like every other guy…pretends to be all nice, but when you get too close…WHAM. They
hurt you or break your heart.’ She thought miserably. Kaorii went back to her ‘depressed puppet’
stage, at which she could no longer ‘thought-process’ anything. She would wonder around, not
really going anywhere. Getting up, she went over to a nearby tree to fall asleep against. She closed
her eyes, but soon felt a little ball of fluff jump onto her lap. Kaorii looked down groggily to find that
it was Kiro. He looked so peaceful on her lap. Quietly, he began purring. Instinctively, she began
stroking his fur. With each stroke, he began purring loudly until it was a medium-level hum kind of
purr.
It was so relaxing, his purring. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Kaorii is that you?” Kagome stretched her arm out, but Kaorii continued to back away. Not wanting
to let her go again, Kagome started running. Suddenly, there was a bright light, and Kaorii
disappeared. ‘Where did she go?’ Kagome thought worriedly. There was another flash of light, and
Kaorii was lying on the ground. “Kaorii!!” Kagome cried, running swiftly over to her. Kagome knelt
down beside her friend, and cradled her in her arms. A shadow loomed over the girls. Weeping,
Kagome looked up to see it was Sesshomaru. He pointed down at the girl she held in her arms. As
she did, she thought she saw dog-ears flash on her head. Of course, the tears were blurring her
vision, so she could really tell if those were ears on Kaorii’s head. When she blinked the tears away,
the ears were gone…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome woke up drenched in a cold sweat. It was just a dream? But it felt so real… “Kagome? Are
you alright?” Kagome turned around to see InuYahsa. His eyes were still closed, but his ears were
pointed forward, so she knew he was talking to her. “It’s nothing.” She assured him, still breathing
heavily.
That dream scared her. Was that like a vision? No maybe it was a just a dream. After all, the
Sesshomaru in the dream almost looked worried and afraid…like he was unsure if Kaorii was going
to be all right or not. Plus, since when did Kaorii have inu-youkai ears? It was definitely just a
dream. Kagome stared at the dancing flames in front of her. The rest of the gang was still asleep,
so it was quite peaceful. “Don’t worry Kagome, We will find her…I promise.” Kagome looked up to
find InuYasha standing over her. “Thank you InuYasha.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaorii awoke the next morning to birds singing, and…warmth??? The surrounding air was quite cool,
but whatever was beside her, kept her warm…just like a heated blanket. A cool wind swirled around
her, and without thinking, pulled herself closer to the thing. On her other side, she felt a scaly…tail
curl around her. Her mind automatically thought back to the snake youkai who had attacked her the
previous night. She grabbed what ever was at her left and pulled herself as close as she could
possibly go. Hoping that maybe she could pass through the thing to get as far away as possible.
Bringing her from her worries, she heard a slight moan. Opening her eyes and looking up, she
noticed she was lying against Sesshomaru, again???? Complete horror crossed her face as the
groan was followed by a deep growl. Looking down, she noticed she had made her way onto his lap,
and was jabbing her arm into his wound. A faint pink threatened to cross her face as she thought
about the possibilities of why she was lying against his chest. It took her a while, but she finally
remembered.
~^_^~ Last Night…
After tending to her wounds, she lay against a tree. Kaorii closed her eyes, but soon felt a little ball
of fluff jump onto her lap. Kaorii looked down groggily to find that it was Kiro. He looked so peaceful
on her lap. Quietly, he began purring. Instinctively, she began stroking his fur. With each stroke, he
began purring loudly until it was a medium-level hum kind of purr.
It was so relaxing, his purring. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep. Minutes later, she heard howling. Her
eyes sprang open, and she turned to look into the forest where she heard the wolves. Seeing about
30 pairs of glowing red eyes, she picked up Kiro and ran over to where Sesshomaru was. She lay
against him, and looked back into the forest. All the wolves had left. ‘Weird’ she thought. Once
again, she settled down to fall asleep…
~^_^~
Another groan was released before she was brought back to reality. She slowly moved from his lap
and onto the grass. Curiosity got the better of her, and she looked to where she thought the snake
youkai was. Instead of a snake, she saw a two-headed dragon sleeping beside her. ‘DRAGON????
That’s even worse than a snake!’
Kaorii screamed loudly, making the taiyoukai wince. His eyes sprung open. Looking at her heatedly,
he spoke “Quiet down wench.” She huffed at him, and noticed that his one hand was covering
where his wounds were. “Take off your haori.” She said more calmly. “I do not undress for
humans.” He said stiffly. “C’mon I just want to look at your wounds. Take it off.” Kaorii’s voice was
becoming loud and impatient. “No. Make me.” He said emotionlessly. ‘Why did I say that?’ he asked
to himself. ‘Was it because of her?’ He looked at her fuming face. Luckily for him, she didn’t exactly
‘hear’ what he said. Either that, or she to mad to get worked up over what he said.
“Fine I will.” Kaorii grabbed his hoari and pulled. “What are you doing?” He kept his face well
masked, but when Kaorii looked up into his eyes, she saw anger flicker across them. Before she
knew it, he grabbed her wrist and pinned her down to the ground. “Let’s see how you like it.” He
snarled. Slowly, he reached down, and ripped off her sweater.
Kaorii was still so surprised, that she hadn’t noticed when he also ripped off her tank top. He stared
at her. He mainly stared at her chest. The only thing that stood in his way of completely seeing her,
was her bra, which didn’t *exactly* cover her all of her bosoms, just about ¼ of them. Kaorii saw
lust and almost craziness in his eyes when she looked at him. Slowly, his eyes began to turn a
crimson red. He brought his hand up, ready to rip of her bra, when…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He growled, eyes turning a golden yellow. His demonic aura swirled around him. He had been the
one who sent the wolves after her. Not to hurt her or anything, just to bring her back to make her
his mate. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get to because of the god damn stupid taiyoukai. Instead, he
stayed, lurking in the shadows until Sesshomaru would leave so he could get her. He had awoken
with a startle when he smelt fear, and lots of it from his lover. When he saw him rip off her shirt
and go for her bra, he couldn’t take it. He was about to send out his wolves when he heard it…a
voice that might just save his ‘woman’s’ dignity.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Lord Sesshomaru, what are you doing to the pretty lady?” Rin walked up to them drowsily, rubbing
her eyes. Both where really surprised.
‘Why hadn’t I sensed her coming?’ Sesshomaru mental snapped at himself for being completely
sidetracked and not to mention aroused, by a stupid human. While Sesshomaru stared at Rin, Kaorii
took it as her cue to slip out from under him and retrieve her clothing.
“Sesshomaru,” she called. “Get your ass over here.” He spun around quickly, to find Kaorii sitting on
the grass, and pointing beside her. When he refused, she got up angrily, and walked over to him.
Grabbing his hand, she pulled him to his feet. She began pulling him over to where her bag.
Stopping abruptly, he tried to pull her hand away from her grasp, but because she had such a
strong grip, he ended up pulling her against himself. Now, because she still only had her bra on,
and half of his haori was off, they were actually skin-to-skin. He shuttered slightly when he felt her
warm skin against his own. He closed his eyes and let her scent of lavender and vanilla engulf him.
What surprised him, and intrigued him farther, was when she slipped her hands in his haori and
wrapped her arms around his torso. For some reason, he dropped his haori. Kaorii turned her head
so she was looking at his left shoulder. She felt so sorry for him. ‘I wish that he had a left arm. Even
though he tried to undress me, and probably rape me, he should still have two arms. No one should
have to go through life weak.’ She closed her eyes and let a single tear roll off her cheek and hit his
left shoulder. Suddenly, a purple glow surrounded his stub, and a searing pain shot through his
arm. Sesshomaru opened his eyes, looked at Kaorii, then him arm, and saw that an arm was
beginning to appear. ‘What the hell did she just do to me?’ What irked him more was the fact that
she seemed to be oblivious to the whole thing. Slowly, he put *both* arms around her, and held her
closer.
Kaorii wriggled closer and gave a sigh of happiness. ‘Why do I feel so peaceful and protected around
him? I don’t feel like I’m being controlled like a puppet anymore…’ Her thoughts quickly changed
when she felt him embrace her back. ‘So strong…when he has his arms around me…ARMS??? Last
time I checked, he only had one arm… what the…’ she stared wide-eyed at him. “Wha-What ha-
happened t-to y-your arm?” She stammered slightly. “You…” he said frigidly. “Me?” Kaorii was
bewildered at what he said. ‘How could I have?’ She slowly dropped to the ground, as she put her
tank top on in a dazed manner.
For just a moment, Sesshomaru’s mask slipped, and she saw gratitude in his eyes. Slowly, as if
thanking her, he settled on the ground in front of Kaorii. Kaorii understood what he was doing, and
went to get her bag. When she returned, it looked like Sesshomaru was in some sort of meditation,
so she didn’t advance on checking his bandages until he said so.
Moments went by and still he showed no signs of moving. Not wanting to be waiting all day, she
tried talking to him. “I don’t mean to bother you, but may I remove your bandages?” She asked
meekly. “I thought you had done it already.” He stated smugly. She blushed faintly and began to rip
off the bandages. Once again, when she removed his bandages, she gasped slightly, making him
smirk inwardly. She gently slid her finger down his chest, careful not to touch his wounds. Her soft
touch sent hot feelings throughout his body, and made his wounds sting. Especially the burn-like
wound he had gotten from Kagome’s purity arrow. He growled as a warning to stop. She nodded
and a faint colour of pink tainted her cheeks. He was firm and well built, that’s for sure. “You
reopened your wounds, baka.” She said, annoyed. He growled at her again, and she sighed,
continuing. Yet again, she took out the bandages, cloth and the disinfectant. Pouring the
disinfectant on the cloth, she gently rubbed it on his wounds. Snarling again, he swatted her hands
away. “I know it stings, but if you would let me continue, we could finish, and if we finish, it won’t
sting anymore.” Next, she took some burn ointment from her bag. She smiled sheepishly, when she
remembered that she had it, just this minute. ‘It would have probably helped the first time I did
this.’ She thought guiltily. Before she could get it on, however, he once again swatted her away.
“Stop friggin’ doing that. How the hell am I suppose to help, if I can’t even touch you.” He marveled
at her courage. She definitely wouldn’t take anyone’s bullshit. He liked that aspect of her. “What is
it?” he spat. “Oh.” She flushed a pretty red. “This is cream for your burn. I promise it won’t hurt.”
She almost pleaded to him, to trust her. He sighed, and let her continue. He watched her unwrap
the bandages from the roll. She looked like an angel. The rising sun illuminated her features, and
her downcast gaze made her look just as innocent. A piece of her hair fell over her shoulder, and he
reached out and tucked it behind her ear. She put her hand over his own and smiled sweetly at him.
He withdrew his hand. It was probably the best idea because, once again, he was fighting his entire
body not to grab her, and kiss her on the spot. Afterward, she put bandages on all his wounds
except his burn. Everybody knows you don’t cover up a burn.
“There, all done.” She gently patted his chest. At the same time as Kaorii was putting away her
things, she looked up at Sesshomaru, only to see a look of guilt in his eyes. She smirked, “Don’t
worry about it.” Sesshomaru sighed inwardly. Getting up, he put on his hoari. “I’m coming with
you.” Sesshomaru turned around. “At least until your wound heals.” She added. He grunted, and
kept walking. Taking that as a yes, she slipped on her sweater, grabbed her bag, and ran after him.
“Rin, Jaken, we’re going.” Soon, a little toad- like creature, and a girl leading the two-headed
dragon appeared. “Ewww…What kind of animal…or thing, are you?” She asked Jaken. “For your
information, impudent human, I am Lord Jaken, keeper of the Staff of Skulls.” He boasted, puffing
out his chest. “You are not any ‘Lord’ as you say. You are not powerful enough to be one.” She
retorted. “Wanna bet? Impudent human?” He sneered. “IMPUDENT???IMPUDENT???” Kaorii
growled, bopping him hard on the top of his head. “Humph…that is no way to treat a lady.” She
stuck her nose up in the air.
Rin giggled. “Pretty lady is funny…just like Lord Sesshomaru.” “Why hello there. What is your
name?” she said sweetly to Rin. “Rin’s name is Rin.” The diminutive girl said, giving her a big toothy
grin. Kaorii laughed at her improper use of grammar. “My name is Kaorii.”
Kaorii and Rin walked together, talking. Meanwhile, Kaorii’s ‘stalker’ was following…following to
make sure HE was the one to mate with ‘our faire lady’.
“I smell her.” InuYasha said. The gang had come to the clearing where Kaorii had first met
Sesshomaru, about 3 days ago. “And blood” he finished. Kagome gasped. “Is she dead?” her voice
quivered with fear. “No.” InuYasha didn’t even bother to check to see if it really was Kaorii’s blood.
He just naturally assumed. “Well let’s hurry.” Kagome said. She climbed back onto InuYasha’s back.
They hurried, all hoping that Kaorii wasn’t hurt, or worse…dead.
P.S~ For all of you who don’t know me…I wouldn’t actually do that^.^
‘It’s been a week now, Sesshomaru’s wounds have healed…except that burn of his…what had done
that?’ Kaorii continued to get trapped in her own thoughts as she slowly trailed beside the taiyoukai.
Remembering about his wound, and how she hadn’t checked it today, she thought that she should
now. “Sesshomaru, we need to stop.”
He turned and looked at her. “I need to check your remaining wound.” He sighed inwardly and
dropped to the ground. ‘Why does she care whether or not my wounds heal?’
She took off his haori and looked at his burn. “It’s healing, but much slower than the others.” She
whispered to herself. She gently slid her finger over the mark, and to her and Sesshomaru’s
disbelief, it slowly disappeared. ‘Now, that is the second time something like this is happened…what
connection does she have to miko powers? Above all else, I don’t think she really knows she’s doing
it.’ Sesshomaru was very puzzled.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Can you still smell her InuYasha?” Sango called to the hanyou. “Yes. She’s this way.” InuYasha
shouted back.
Kagome rode on InuYasha’s back, fearing the worst for her best friend. Sango, Miroku, and Shippo
all rode on top of Kilala’s large form.
Everyone, like Kagome, was wondering what Kaorii looked like, and if she was all right. Miroku, on
the other hand, was wondering if she was as pretty as she was in the picture. ‘Cuz if she was…ohhh
would he get some groping done…Miroku smiled slyly at his last thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘The hell with this.’ Kaorii’s stalker thought crossly. ‘She ain’t never gonna leave his side.’ He huffed
and started walking away. “Well I guess I better go then…I said I would stay with you until your
wounds heal and they’re all healed.” He stopped in his tracks at the sound of her voice. ‘She’s
leaving?’ A huge grin spread across his face. He turned back around, waiting…waiting to pounce…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rin ran crying to Kaorii’s side. “Kaorii can’t go, Rin will be so lonely.” She sobbed quietly into
Kaorii’s skirt. “Don’t worry, I’ll see you again soon. I just have to leave now.” She knelt down, and
put a hand on the child’s shoulder gently. “You promise you will visit Rin again?” Rin looked up
hopefully at her friend. “I promise!” Kaorii crossed her heart.
Immediately, Rin’s face lit up. “Okay Kaorii, Rin will wait.” Kaorii stood up and said goodbye to
Sesshomaru. “Goodbye Sesshomaru.” She lightly kissed him on the cheek. He grunted, and turned
away. Kaorii smiled at his response.
With that being done, she turned and started to walk away. To where? She had no idea. Maybe
back to that stupid well that had brought her here in the first place. Little did she know, she
wouldn’t be going back to the well...
He watched her for what seemed to be the hundredth time. He closed his eyes and sniffed the air to
find her scent. ‘Ahhh there it is…Lavender and vanilla. A excellent scent for a mate of mine…’ He
opened his eyes and stared at her intently. He watched her brown hair gently swirl around her…her
lips curl upwards when that pet of hers did something cute…but most of all, he watched her hips
swivel when she walked ahead of him. He began advancing on her. He couldn’t hold it in anymore…
his animal instincts kicked in as he continued to be hypnotized by her and her scent.
Kaorii turned around when she heard a twig snap behind her. There was no one there. ‘Good’ she
thought. But still, something in those woods was giving her the creeps. She turned around ready to
run when…
She ran into what seemed to be a person. She looked up to find she had run into some kind of wolf
man. He had short black hair, each spike of hair pointing out every which-way. He had elfish ears,
and a slender brown dog tail. He had fur around his head, wrists, legs and waist. For some reason,
her legs buckled, and she fell against him. His chest was bare, and she felt safe against his warm
figure. She gently clutched her fists as she looked up at him again. “May I help you?” She inquired,
breaking away from him. “Yes actually you can. My name is Kyouga and I am here to take you to
my den to make you my mate.” “MATE???” She became horrified at the thought, so much that she
fell against him again, unconscious. He picked her up, bridal style and began making his way back
to his den. He walked slowly, looking at her features. She looked so peaceful…unconscious. Her
head rested against his chest, and her arms lay limb on either side of her.
Moments went by and Kyouga was starting to get worried. ‘Why hasn’t she awoken yet? Did I do
something?’ As if his thoughts had been answered, she stirred. Once again, she felt something furry
beside her. ‘Sesshomaru?’ She thought drowsily. It wasn’t Sesshomaru, just Kyouga’s tail. She
opened her eyes, only to be disappointed when she found out that it wasn’t Sesshomaru. She
gasped slightly when she found she was staring at someone’s chest. She looked up, to still be with
the wolf demon.
He sensed fear radiating off her, but he didn’t look down at her. Instead, he ran quicker so he could
get to his den before she shook off the shock.
Kiro walked behind the young wolf demon cautiously. If he hurt Kaorii…well, let’s just say he’d be
sorry. Sniffing the air for a moment, the neko youkai decided Kyouga meant his friend no real harm.
He jumped onto Kaorii’s lap, watching Kyouga vigilantly.
Shortly after, Kyouga placed his ‘mate’ on some kind of ‘bed of straw’. Kaorii looked around, scared.
Scared about the fact that there were wolf demons, and wolves watching her…scared that she might
become the ‘mate’ of some strange, but cute, demon…and scared that she may never see Kagome
again.
Suspiciously, a wolf demon walked over to her. He studied her. She trembled in fear as a wicked
smile crossed his face, but then soon disappeared. He knelt down beside her, and touched her skirt.
Kaorii’s fear was suddenly replaced with confusion, but later with anger as the demon began lifting
up the skirt. Her face flushed a crimson red as she slapped his hand away. “Don’t do that.” She
grabbed the bottom of her skirt, and clasped them to her legs. Boy! Was that ever embarrassing.
Then, another wolf demon, which looked a lot like Kyouga, Kaorii noticed, stepped in. “What the hell
do you think your doing?” He growled. “Nothing Lord Koga.” The petty demon backed away slowly.
“I sorry for his unusual curiosity.” He grabbed both of her hands and stood up, bringing Kaorii with
him. ‘Heh. This girl wears exactly the same clothes as Kagome…maybe if…She DID have something
to do with Kagome, and my half-witted brother took her from my woman, then maybe…just
maybe…if I brought her back…Kagome might respect me more and even pick ME over that half twit
hanyou…’ Koga had already finalized his plans.
At that point in time, Kyouga walked in on them. “Koga, What are you doing??? She’s MY woman…”
the two brothers began bickering shamefully. Kaorii just stood there, silent, as a big sweat drop
appeared at the side of her head.
Kaorii snapped back to reality when she heard the brothers stop bickering, and just the one called
‘Koga’ was talking. “It wasn’t what you think…” He spat. “Than what was it?” Kyouga snapped back.
“I was going to take her back to Kagome…” Kaorii went back into another contemplation. ‘Kagome?
He knows where Kagome is?’ Kaorii’s mind raced as she thought about the possibility of seeing her
friend again. “No. You can’t take her. I won’t let her go!!” The spiky haired demon seethed.
‘What?!? Why would he say that? He doesn’t even know me.’ Kaorii was quite surprised. He had
only met her. Or had he known her before? ‘Oh my god. Was he stalking me?’ Kaorii’s heart went
from her throat, back down to her chest as a wave of fear and anxiety washed over her. “No. She’s
not going and that’s that.” She heard Kyouga order. Every wolf and wolf demon had gathered
around the two, and Kaorii decided to stop their arguing. She stepped in between the two of them
and faced Koga. “Could you take me back to Kagome? Please?” she pleaded to the young demon
lord. She gently rested her hand on his forearm, much to Kyouga’s discomfort. She heard a deep
growl erupt from Kyouga. “No.” Kaorii turned around to face Kyouga. “And exactly why the hell
not?” Her temper flared dangerously. “Because.” “Because isn’t an answer.” “Because…I love you.
You are my woman.” Kaorii smiled, and then started laughing hysterically. “That’s cute.” Kaorii
managed to gasp in between her fits of laughter. Kyouga’s jaw dropped. Quickly, he regained his
posture, and Kaorii saw that he wasn’t joking. He was being serious—dead serious.
She looked at him for a moment, as if she was considering something. “Fine then. What about you
then.” Kyouga looked at her oddly. “What do you want me to do?” “You take me back to Kagome.
You said that you didn’t want Koga taking me back, but now I’m asking you if you would.” Kaorii
took his forearm in her hands, which was conveniently laid across his chest, so when she took his
forearm, her fingers brushed across his skin, making her request sound more seducing. “Plus, I
would think more highly of you…” she battered her eyelashes and stepped closer to him.
Kyouga heaved a sigh and picked her up like a bride, and ran off. Koga, not wanting to be shown up
by his younger brother, followed. Kaorii snuggled closer into Kyouga’s chest. “Thank you Kyouga.”
She whispered, then gently placed a kiss on his cheek. Kyouga’s eyes widened, he was quite
surprised. Her lips felt just as soft as they looked. Although, he still didn’t know if her lips TASTED
as well as they looked.
Now it was Kaorii’s turn to be surprised. He had captured her—however, when she pictured being
captured, it didn’t involve the capturer falling in love with her, or taking her where she wanted.
Quite peculiar indeed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome and the rest of the gang arrived at the spot where Kaorii was taken be Kyouga. “I smell
Koga…” InuYasha stated. “What?” Kagome looked horrified. “He didn’t hurt her or anything—that I
can smell anyways” the hanyou clarified. “That’s a relief.” Kagome sighed in relief. “But he did take
her somewhere.” “What???” Kagome went back to being terrified. “Way to break the news Einstein.”
Miroku retorted, bopping him on the head. “Well we’ve got to find her InuYasha, please!!” tears
welled up in the corner of Kagome’s eyes. She helplessly tugged on the sleeve of InuYasha’s
kimono.
Suddenly, InuYasha perked up. “What is it InuYasha?” Sango asked, tightening her grip on
Hiraikotsu. “Wolves…” he growled. ‘Not now…’ Kagome thought, a tad distressed. Kyouga stopped
right in front of Kagome, letting Kaorii down. “Kaorii?” “Kagome?” Tears sprang to the two girls’
eyes’ as they embraced each other tightly. “I thought I would never see you again.” Kaorii cried into
Kagome’s shirt. “Feh.” InuYasha turned his heel, to go up into a tree. Kyouga growled. “Was that
directed to Kaorii?” he barked, stomping over to the half demon. “Don’t you dare insult my woman’s
honor.” He bellowed. “His woman? I knew he looked like Koga, but now he’s acting like him. The
resemblance is undeniable.” Sango stated, Miroku nodding in agreement. “Stop it Kyouga.” Kaorii
pleaded warily. She had had enough today.
Ignoring the plea, the two of them started fighting. “Both of you stop it.” Kagome pleaded. “This is
exactly what happened at the den…” Kaorii put her hand to her head, as she closed her eyes and
sighed exasperatedly. Both demons had cuts on them. Kagome sighed and whispered, “I hope it
wouldn’t have had to come to this…” “OSUAWRI” *crash*
The fighting immediately ceased, and Kaorii ran over to Kyouga. “Why would you do that?” “He
insulted your honor.” Kyouga winced at the pain that came from his chest wound. “You’d do that for
me?” “Of course I would. I already told you…I love you.” Kaorii eyes shimmered with the glint of
tears. She thought that before it was just something like an obsessive crush, but now she realized
that he actually LOVED her. And best of all, she actually felt happy and safe around him. He could
be like an immature kid, but he knew when to be responsible. “C’mon over here.” She helped him
over to a nearby tree where Miroku had started a fire. “Will you stay with me?” Kaorii asked. “What
do you mean?” Kyouga had an idea, but wasn’t too sure. “I’m going to travel with Kagome and her
friends, will you stay with me?”
Kyouga’s eyes softened, as he replied, “Of course I will.” He slowly leaned down, and kissed her on
her lips, briefly. Even if it was just for a second, he finally found out what her lips tasted like.
Everyone had observed this, but just chose not to comment on it. Elsewhere, a young wolf demon
lord watched happily. He watched his brother find love, best of all, Kyouga was outta his way, and
he could kick InuYasha’s butt for him anytime. He smirked as he left…things were happening for the
better.
