I. Objectives:
At the end of 50 minutes, 100% of the learners are expected to:
1. Be able to use different currencies to come up with the exact amount needed.
2. Be able to break-down the amount to different currencies.

A. Review: the different currency available in the Philippines, including paper bills and
coins.
B. Drill/Group activity
The Vendor
Form groups of four to five students. Distribute play money to use as currency and
use it to buy different items available on the list using the play money they have in their
position. Note; They have different amount each group and they must choose items they
can buy from the list. And compare their money with the prize to see if their money is
enough to buy the item or not.

C. Discussion: in the past days we have discussed about the different currency in the
Philippines, including the 25, five and 10 centavo coins, the 1, 5 and 10 peso coins
and the paper bills like 20, 50 and 100 peso bills.
Today we use what we learn to come up with the needed amount using mixtures
of different kinds of currency.
To make things much easier first we have to review the conversion method of the
paper bills and learn how much coins a higher amount if converted into a much smaller
value. (eg. : we needed 4 five peso coins to make 20 peso bill.)

up to the amount.
