Ladies and gentlemen: I’m happy to be here. I’d like to

introduce myself.
My name is Christina. Everyone calls me Chris. I’m from
Shenzhen. I was born in and grew up in Shenzhen.
Right now, I’m a student. I’m eager to learn. I study very
hard every day. I enjoy learning and speaking English. I
think it’s interesting and fun. I’m a friendly person. I
always try to be polite.

friend. I hope we can meet. What do you say? Let’s be
friends and get together.

born /bɔrn/ v. 出生

 I’d like to 我想要

= I would like to = I want to

 I’d like to introduce myself.

 You can also use these sentences to introduce yourself:
• Let me introduce myself.
• Allow me to introduce myself.

我的名字是Christina。每个人都叫我Chris。

 When you introduce your name, you can also say:

• I’m Christina.
• My English name is Chris.
• My first name is Christina.

 When you want to tell others how they can call you, you can
also say:
• You can call me Chris.
• Just call me Chris.
• Feel free to call me Chris.

3. I’m from Shenzhen. I was born in and grew up in Shenzhen.

我来自深圳。我在深圳出生长大。

 We use be born to show that a child comes out of a mother’s body.

 E.g.
• She was born in Thailand.
• He was born in 1950.

 When you want to introduce where you are from, you can also say:
• I come from Shenzhen.
• I’m a native of Shenzhen.
