Body Of Knowledge Speech Therapy

 speech therapist is someone who handles or provide services to patients or clients who
are having problems in their health such as speech disorders, swallowing, fluency
rhythm, sounds and language. But a speech therapist does not stand alone, so a speech
therapist treatment under doctors, rehab, ENT doctor, psychology, and others. A
speech therapist who will perform the practice must have License Speech Therapy
Practice (SIP). (PERMENKES Decree No: 867 / Menkes / Per / VIII / 2004).
 speech therapists Services are services to individuals, a group given a speech
therapist in accordance with their capabilities and field.
 The practice of speech therapy is an activity performed by speech therapists in
providing services and practices associated with impaired communication,
swallowing and language. The practice of speech therapy are also included in the
action anamnesis, assessment, diagnosis, therapy planning, therapy implementation,
and evaluation.
 speech therapists service users are individuals, groups, both children and adults.

In speech therapy No 4 competence therein:

4. Psychology

Speech Therapy Competencies:

1. Understand the concept of normal - abnormal about speech, language, voice,
rhythm smoothness and swallowing.
2. assessment of the communication disorders, language, sounds, rhythms and
swallowing.
3. Establishing the diagnosis
4. Establish prognosis
5. treatments
6. Cooperating with relevant parties and others in providing services.
7. documentation after implementation of therapy
8. wirusaha development in the field of Speech Therapy
9. Rehabilitation of the Community Sourced
10. Providing advice or other communications media

12. Able to speak English in the service.

Speech Therapy history in Indonesia

Speech therapy into Indonesia since 1971 with the courses A and B each 6
months. In 1973 increased to 3 years, for graduates who kursusbisa continue as a
sophomore.
1985 LPBW institutions (Institutions of Development Dialogue) Jakarta joined
Physiotherapy and turned into academies Medical Rehab majoring in Speech
Therapy.
Permenkes rule that colleges can not have two departments, the Department of
Speech Therapy stands alone in the name of Speech Therapy Academy in 1987
until now.

History of Speech Therapy at the Ministry of Health Polytechnic Surakarta

Speech therapy in Surakarta MoH Polytechnic was established on June 5,

2006 by decree of the Minister of Health a.n head of the development and
empowerment of community health resources, No. 01.01.1.4.2.02568 OT, as the
department of occupational therapy department. In 2007 Prodi officially became
the Speech Therapy Speech Therapy department at the Polytechnic of Surakarta.
April 26, 2012 Department of Speech Therapy opens Prodi D-IV Speech Therapy
with SK establishment no HK 3:05 / 1.2 / 03 067/2012 and SK extension of the
operational date of October 10, 2012 by Decree 355 / E / 0/2012 so today in the
Polytechnic Surakarta majors Speech therapy has a D-III study program Speech
therapy and Speech therapy IV.
