ARDEX EG 8
Cement/Epoxy Hybrid Grout and Adhesive
ARDEX EG 8 is a cement/epoxy hybrid grout and adhesive with
excellent resistance to most chemicals but, unlike traditional epoxy
grouts, ARDEX EG 8 is easy to apply, requires no special tools, and
can be cleaned off the tile surface up to 45 minutes after application.
ARDEX EG 8 has been formulated to resist chemical attack and to provide a durable, abrasion resistant waterproof finish that is hygienic and
impervious, making it ideal for use in:
• Swimming Pools
• Hydrotherapy and spa baths
• Domestic and commercial food preparation areas where chemical resistance and hygienic joints are required
• Hospitals
• Bathrooms & showers
Once hardened, ARDEX EG 8 can withstand full loads after 2 days curing, and after 7 days is resistant to aqueous salt solutions, chlorine water,
commercial cleaning agents, alkalis and a wide range of dilute mineral acids.
ARDEX EG 8 can also be used as a floor tile adhesive or a mosaic wall tile adhesive in areas where a chemically resistant adhesive bed is required.

COVERAGE SUMMARY
This will depend upon tile size, joint width, depth and the Material required is:-
Grout Coverage Figure (G.C.F.). Use the following to estimate
(length + breadth) x width x depth
the approximate grout requirements for square or rectangular x G.C.F. = kg/m2
tiles (all dimensions in mm): length x breadth
Stage 1. ADD length and breadth of tile together. EXAMPLE Using ARDEX-FLEX FL
2. MULTIPLY result by joint width. Tiles 300mm x 300mm x 10mm; joints of 10mm:-
3. MULTIPLY result by joint depth. (300 + 300) x 10 x 10
4. MULTIPLY result by the Grout Coverage Figure (G.C.F). x 1.75 = 1.16kg/m2
5. DIVIDE result by length of tile. 300 x 300
6. DIVIDE result by breadth of tile. Thus one 10kg bag of ARDEX-FLEX FL will grout up to 8.6m2 of tiling.
The result is the material requirement in kg per sq metre.
