Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on 22nd July. Do you know
what Selena means in Greek? It means “Moon”. Her mother is Italian and
her father is Mexican. She was raised in Texas , but now she lives in
California.
Selena´s keen on ( *) basketball, her favourite band is Paramore and her
favourite actress is Rachel McAdams.
She started her career when she was nine years old in the TV series Barney
and Friends. She wasn´t famous until she participated in The Wizards of
Waverley Place, where she played the role of Alex Russo. Then she also
starred in several movies, such as the Disney productions Princess Protection Program and
Wizards of Waverley Place: The Movie.
Before becoming an actress, she attended Danny Jones Middle School. She quit * school because
of her life as an actress and so she needed homeschooling*. What is that, you ask? Well,
homeschoolers don´t go to school. Their teachers are their parents or tutors, and the students
decide when to learn and their extracurricular activities. They choose homeschooling because
they have a busy artistic life. They get better school results, individualized teaching and they can
learn whenever they want.
Selena didn´t mind * leaving her school at all. She really liked being a homeschooler because she
was no longer teased *! That´s true: even Selena was bullied * at school! She knows how hard it
