 Read words containing long  Today we will be reviewing all of our long vowel

 Split the class in to two even teams and have
one student from each team come to the front

 Teacher will call out a word and the first student
to go and touch the word on the wall, and
name the long vowel sound found in this word,
will win a point for their team

if they cannot complete the task they are not
invited to play the game – this motivates
students to think and get creative so they can

 Teacher then splits the class into two groups
and show the students how to play tricky word
bowling.
o Tricky word bowling is a very fun game
that the students are all engaged in
and I find it a very effective way to
ensure the students remember their
tricky words
 There are 6 bowling pins – each has a tricky
word attached – the tricky words from this
week plus the ones from last week – what,
where, why
 With each pin they get down, the students
have to say the tricky word to gain a point for
their team.
Rewards can be given to the winning team.

At the end of the lesson, students Warm-up Activity

 Work together as a team  Weather, Days of the Week, Months of the
Year, Alphabet, Colours of the Rainbow,
Shapes, Numbers, Feelings
Main Lesson
 Today we are going to have a fun outside
games day with the students because we feel
they have worked really hard all year and
deserve to have a fun day
 The focus for the games will be teamwork –
everyone needs to work together
 The first game, we will be using the parachute.
 Students will be split into two or three teams
 One team will be holding the parachute,
which will have different coloured balls on it,
and the one-two other teams will have a
colour assigned to them
 The team holding the parachute must shake
the parachute to remove all balls and the
other team(s) must collect their coloured balls
as fast as they can working together
 The second activity for the day will be a series
of relay races. Split the class into three-four
teams
 Three-legged race
 Simple running relay race
 Egg on a spoon race
 Keep track of which teams come in 1st, 2nd, 3rd,
and 4th and rewards can be given based on
the teachers’ discretion

 Today we will complete our art project for the
month
 Each student will be given a dot painting
worksheet and 4 cotton swabs
 There will be numerous paint colours per table
and the students must all share
 The worksheet will be a scene of a beach and
the water, to go along with our topic in theme
of places – traveling and vacations
 The students are to only use one colour per
end of the cotton swab

Main Lesson
 Today we will be completing our cooking for
the month, which will be a fun BBQ
 There will be one hot stone BBQ and the class
will sit around it in a big circle, to ensure
students are far enough to prevent a
dangerous situation
 Each student will get one marshmallow on a
stick, and one hotdog on a stick (if they would
like)
 In small groups of 2-4 (depending on how
many students can fit around the BBQ),
students will come to the BBQ and roast their
marshmallow and cook their hotdog
 Once the marshmallows and hotdogs are
cooked to students’ desire, they may enjoy!

 Write the time  Show the students a clock, ask them what the

 Explain to the students that we will now start to
learn about money, and how it is used in our
everyday lives, explain to the students that
different countries use different kinds of money
 Show the students examples of money from
other countries.
 Now show the students the different kinds of
baht we get and how it works
 Explain to the students that in the book we will
be working with Sen and Ringgit, that is similar
to Sitang and Baht. Tell them that 100 of Sen is
the same as 1 Ringgit because that’s the value
of the Rinngit. Now do the same with the
Sitang and Baht
 Now give each student a small amount of fake
money that we will be using for the rest of the
month.
 Now the teacher can ask the students to take
out some coins and determine which of the 2
has a higher value
