TAYLOR DEMONE To whom it may concern, As an emerging primary/junior level teacher, I am committed to ensure that all of my students can learn in a safe and inclusive environment while having the tools to approach all challenges with a growth mindset. Throughout my professional experience I have developed a teaching taylor.demone@outlook. philosophy that is justified by many practices found in documents such as com Learning for All, and Growing Success. Throughout all of my teaching placements, I have established strong relationships with other teachers and principals by taking the initiative to engage in conversations, attend staff meetings, and offer my support in extra-curricular activities happening 613-864-9342 around the school such as PALS (playground activity leaders) and coaching junior boys basketball. I have also established strong relationships with my 26 roycroft way, ottawa, students by reaching all learners needs through differentiation and allowing on, k2w1c7 them to feel in control of their learning by utilizing student-led learning philosophies and inquiry-based projects. Throughout my teaching journey, I have discovered that I not only aim to instill a love of learning in my students, but I also make it my goal to help shape future citizens of the world that are kind, driven, and positive change makers. I have shown this throughout my teaching practice by developing a “kindness project” for my primary grade students and a “make a difference” unit for my junior grade students in which they created their own charities. My strengths as a teacher are patience and persistence. Through attending an inclusion and differentiation workshop, it was mentioned that every student brings a different “story” to school. As an educator, I will ensure to understand every child’s individual needs and be patient with their growth both educationally and behaviorally while being persistent in my effort to help them succeed. A quote that summarizes my professional practice is“You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach them to learn by creating curiosity they will continue the learning process as long as they live.” Clay P. Bedford. Sincerely, Taylor Demone
