Scope of work

SAPPI NGODWANA

Effluent Remote Rack

Replacement - Phase 2
1. Introduction
The effluent plant is responsible for treating all wastewater produced as a by-product from
the various process with in the mil.

Phase 1 of the project covered the conversion of the PLC 5 to ControlLogix and the
conversion of the 1771 IO system to FlexIO and was commissioned in May2018.

This is phase 2 of the project and covers the conversion of hardwired Analog
controllers/recorders to the Effluent PLC.

2. Description of the Contract Works

Work to be performed during the May 2019 shut with in a 12 hour period.
This scope also includes all pre shut work and post shut required to perform the work.
 Supply Components as per Anex1.
 Updating of drawings.
 Removal of Standalone Analog Controllers/Recorders and closing of panels.
 Identification and Relocating of wiring/cabling to rack 17.
 Terminating of loop wiring on rack 17.
 Cleaning and removal of old cables in control desk.
 Decommissioning of the FlexIO telemetry rack
o Removal of physical Rack
o Rerouting of 2 IO signals to Rack17.
 Commissioning assistance to normalize the plant.

3. Quality Specification
Drawings to be supplied prior to installation for approval.

4. Delivery time
May 2019 annual shut.

 Bar chart for each of the three parts
 Allowance for Owner to witness Factory acceptance tests.
 Risk assessment for complete job on site
 Safety file to comply with Sappi standard
