BIOGRAPHIE DE JUANJO MOSALINI

Parcours :

Juanjo Mosalini was born on April 29, 1972 in Buenos


Aires. Interpreter, composer, teacher, he is for 30
years a recognized ambassador of the bandoneon,
allowing him to shine outside of Argentina, in France
and at international scale. Trained as a bandoneon by
his father, he studied of Gustavo Beytelmann, piano
and harmony teacher. He began an international
career at the age of 18 and is one of the few
bandoneonists to regularly perform as a soloist at the
Philharmonie de Paris, àat the Berlin philarmonic, at
the Rotterdam philarmonic, at Barbican center London, at the Théâtre
Massimo of Palermo, at the auditorium Giuseppe Verdi, Milano, at the
academia Chigiana Sienaat the academia nationale Sainta Cecila Roma, at
the antic theater of Athene and Orange, the Mozart Saal de Vienne, the
salle Gaveau.

He also collaborates with prestigious soloists such as Romain Descharmes,


Ophélie Gaillard, Adelaide Ferrière (especially during the victories of
classical music 2017, France), ensembles and orchestras (London
Symphony, le Rotterdam Philharmonic, le Israel Symphony Rishon Le Zion,
le Seoul Philharmonic, Berna simphonic, Winterthur simphonic, l’Orchestre
de Bretagne, l’Orchestre de Picardie, le National des Pays de Loire,
Camerata de Bourgogne, Santa Barbara philarmonic, l’Orchestra del Teatro
Massimo Di Palermo, le Budapest Concert Orchestra and l’Orchestra della
Magna Grecia).

He shares the stage with Toots Thielemans, Mino Cinelu, Gotan Project, le
Cirque du soleil, Catherine Lara, Julien Clerc, Eli Medeiros, Juliette, I
Mouvrini, Julia Miguenes.

He also participated in many film scores, for Gabriel Yared (Wings of


Courage de Jean-Jacques Annaud) d’Eric Serra (Léon de Luc Besson) and as
an interpreter and composer alongside Philippe Miller (Jeanne et le garçon
formidable d’Olivier Ducastel et Jacques Martineau).

Juanjo Mosalini has also created ensembles: the Bögeholz / Mosalini duet
with guitarist Vincente Bögeholz, a duet that combines the interactive world
and electronic music with jazz bassist Olivier Sens and Mosalini Teruggi
cuarteto (with bassist and composer Léonardo Teruggi, pianist Romain
Descharmes and violinist Sébastien Surel).

Education :
Juanjo Mosalini has been teaching bandoneon at CRD de Gennevilliers since
the first class in Europe of this instrument was opened there. He has also
directed the conservatory's tango orchestra since 2009. The CRD Edgar
Varèse now includes the most important pole of Europe for the bandoneon's
training directed by Juanjo Mosalini since 2018. He is regularly invited in
residence of artists and master classes like in Seoul in April 2018 or in
Cagliari in August 2017, or in Avignon in January 2017

Recent discography :

In February 2017 is released at Aparte musique the album Chamuyo by the


Mosalini Teruggi cuarteto ; on march 2016 was published Delta y mar by
the duet Bögeholz/Mosalini ; on 2015 is released Discrete time by the duet
Sens/Mosalini and on 2014 the first album of Mosalini Teruggi
cuarteto Tango Hoy.
