Racing Car Driving
Meet Danica Patrick from the USA. Danica is the first woman to win an Indy car
race – one of the top races in the world. Danica loves her profession and she
works very hard. Have a look at the work of a professional racing car driver.
Racing cars turn very quickly on the racetrack. Drivers
must have strong neck muscles so they can hold up their
heads when they turn their car. Some drivers wear helmets
with weights at home to make their neck muscles strong.

There are many cars on the racetrack. A driver must get in
front of the other cars to win a race. Drivers must look at
the track very quickly to find a place without cars. Racing
car drivers often use computer games like Forza
Motorsport 2 and Gran Turismo 5 to practise doing this.
It looks quite easy to stop the car with the
brakes, but it’s like moving 130 kilos of
weights with your feet! You can’t do this
without very strong leg muscles, so racing
