WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF GALVALUME STEEL?

Galvalume steel sheets are popular among architects, designers, contractors, and building owners, and
for all the right reasons. Used for both residential and non-residential building constructions, Galvalume
steel now covers buildings that are built in all kinds of environments and climates across Canada, the US,
Mexico, India, Europe, and Australia. Created using a 55% to 45% ratio of aluminum to zinc alloy and
silicon, Galvalume steel ensures durability and adhesion. Galvalume is a tough coating used to protect
steel from corrosion. But corrosion-resistant is not the only benefit that it has. Read on to know more.

1. Heat reflexive

Steel that’s coated with Galvalume displays superior reflectance in sunlight. This reduces heat absorption
through roof panels. Galvalume is said to have great heat resistance and it can bear temperatures as high
as 300 degrees. This is why Galvalume steel is used widely in chimneys, illuminations, ovens and sunlight
lampshades.

2. Easy-japanning

Galvalume steel sheets need no pretreatment weathering since there is a great adhesive power between
the xinyulume and oil paint. Because of this high adhesive power of the steel sheets, it could coat general
panels and poster board directly without any difficulties.

3. Durable and flexible coating

Galvalume retains the metal’s high strength-to-weight ratio. The coating is strong, durable and flexible.
The coating will not flake or crack as the sheet metal is bent. This coating does not add weight to the steel.

4. Cost-effective

Besides durability and energy efficiency, Galvalume steels are cost-efficient too. It has very minimal
maintenance and repair costs. If not painted, Galvalume can last for more than 40 years without any
visible differences. In most of the industrial and rural environments, Galvalume steel is believed to have
a service life of 45-60 years.

5. Corrosion resistance

Aluminum protects the Galvalume steel coil from corroding. Aluminum produces the alumina in case of
zinc damage, and this prevents corrosion. It also enhances the protective ability of steel.

The quality of your building depends on the quality of the steel used. Steel structures made with
Galvalume steel are 3 to 6 times thicker than standard steel buildings and are 7 times more rust resistant
than galvanized steel sheets. If you have built a steel industrial building or a residential steel building with
Galvalume, you can be sure that your building is made to last. Learn more about this steel and its benefits
