 Pereira es la capital del Eje Cafetero y tiene uno de los mejores cafés
del mundo. Colombia es el segundo país más biodiverso del mundo y
el primero en diversidad de aves con el 10% del total mundial y el eje
cafetero contempla el 7% de su diversidad en animales y plantas. Pereira
es la ciudad capital tiene una temperatura promedio de 21º todo el año. El
paisaje cultural cafetero es declarado por la UNESCO patrimonio mundial
de la humanidad.

Pereira is the capital of the Coffee Region and has one of the best coffee
in the world. Colombia is the country with the second highest biodiversity
worldwide and It occupies the first position in number of birds with 10%
of the world’s total amount, additionally the Coffee region has 7% of that
diversity in animals and plants. Pereira is the capital city, with an average
temperature of 21 degrees all year round. The cultural coffee landscape
was declared by UNESCO world cultural heritage.

Lo que más me ha gustado de ser

emprendedores sociales. Ir a un solo
grupo no me parecía suficiente, por
eso voy a cinco.
Es mi pasión, me llena, me da calma

hagan un caos de mí es lo que más me

Recuerdo con amor mi primer
acercamiento a la comunidad. Fue en
un barrio de escasos recursos, para
entregar regalos y jugar con niños.
Estaba muy entusiasmado y asustado,
pues era la primera vez que aparecería
de payaso.
Ese día recibí tantas sonrisas que
quedé con ganas de seguir haciéndolo.
Como voluntario, no encuentro
inconveniente para ir de noche a un
barrio con contexto de violencia como
Villa santana, en donde lidero un grupo
juvenil. Hoy, a estos jóvenes los siento
como mis vecinos de toda la vida. Ellos
me abrieron sus casas, sus corazones
y nos volvimos familia.
Hemos comprendido que no estamos
solos, que todos somos parte de
la vida del otro. Juntos adquirimos

Estoy cursando mi sexto semestre
de ingeniería civil, y hago clown
hospitalario desde aproximadamente
unos 3 años. Había escuchado mucho
de la YMCA, decidí ir a la reunión de
voluntariado y allí me contaron del
grupo Desparpajo Clown hospitalario
y pedagógico.
Yo sabía que existían los payasos y
sus narices rojas. Que algunos iban a
hospitales o a jugar con niños. Nunca
dimensioné lo que me iba a encontrar
en la clase. Lo primero fue pedirme
que me quite los zapatos, y yo ¿Por
qué? ¿los payasos no tienen antes
unos zapatos gigantes?
Pensaba que el clown era hacer
reír a la gente, pero lo último que
querían hacer conmigo era hacerme
reír; querían que saltara, que bailara,

niños que vivía con el abuelo, el tío y

salió corriendo para volver gritando,

pero éste es para ti! Ese es el cariño
y reconocimiento que logramos con la

El Programa ICCP-SW&T es
promovido por la Young Men’s
Christian Association (YMCA) de
Colombia en alianza con IENA (por
sus siglas en inglés International
Exchange of North America) y avalado
por el Departamento de Estado de los
Estados Unidos.
Es un programa de intercambio
cultural que brinda la posibilidad a
jóvenes con buen manejo del idioma
inglés, entre los 19 y 26 años de
trabajar en Campamentos de Verano
en Estados Unidos durante 10 a 12
semanas, entre mediados de mayo y
finales de agosto.
Los participantes aprenden sobre la
cultura Norteamericana, comparten
la suya propia, y tienen una visión
más amplia del mundo; a través de la
interacción directa con personas de
otros países.
International Camp Counselor
Program - Summer Work and Travel
(ICCP-SW&T) is managed by the
Young Men’s Christian Association
(YMCA) of Colombia, sponsored by
the International Exchange of North
America (IENA), and endorsed by the
American State’s Department.
It’s a cultural exchange program
that gives an opportunity for young
bilingual speakers between 19 and 26
years old, to work in summer camps in
the USA from 10 to 12 weeks, around

culture, share about theirs, and get a
wide view of the world; through direct
interaction with people from other
countries.
