Every child is special, is a movie that depicts the common situation inside a

classroom. A learner who has difficulty in learning and some who have difficulty
in managing their behavior. Scenarios like these are really cannot be avoided
inside the classroom.

Ishaan Awasthi symbolizes the learners who needs special attention inside
the classroom. Ishaan is a kind of learner that has difficulty in reading or what we
call dyslexia. “The letters are dancing” from this phrase it directs us that he has
needs. We cannot deny the fact that there are teachers who disregard this kind
of learners, having the mindset that they don’t have a chance to learn. There is
not only one Ishaan inside the classroom but they are many, teachers cannot
identify them directly because they just do what normal kids do. There are still
many learning disabilities that are present in a four-walled room. Bullying which is
related to the issues nowadays is clearly seen in the movie, thus these doesn’t
help in the child’s progress. The support of parents is also lacking which can be a
factor that a child fails to succeed. This movie has shown many flaws that is
related to the issue in the society. What his first teacher fails to do is to give him
the accommodation and modification in order to catch up with the lessons.

A child’s way to progress is with the help and support of the people around
him/her. It is what his teacher did. He had find the uniqueness of the child and
was able to help him build his confidence to conquer the trials he has faced. Let
us be like his teacher who sees the positive that the negative. Let us be like him
who gives hope and inspiration to a child to reach his dreams and goals in life.
This movie had helped us teachers to be very keen in observing the learners
needs, and to be open-minded about the different learning styles a child may
have. As an adult we should not demand our kids to be top in all the subjects, let
us give them the freedom to enjoy learning.
