Professional Experience:

08/2018 to current- Patient Access Center Representative

USF Health- Tampa, FL 33612
My current job focuses on assisting patients and bettering their experience at USF Health. Being
a representative at the Patient Access Center means you are usually the first contact a person has
with the organization. This means it is also my responsibility to give people a great
rememberable first encounter because when they think of USF Health, they will think of my
service first. My job is to greet them and assist them with scheduling their appointments. Many
of the patients are calling in to schedule appointments for life threatening surgeries, diagnosis,
and treatment plans that can save their lives. Working in this profession has taught me a great
deal about compassion and patience. If patients aren’t calling in to schedule appointments, then
many times it is to send an encounter to their doctor regarding a medical concern. I have learned
how to send over fast, detailed, and precise letters to clinical staffs regarding our patients. During
my time at this job I have also learned a suicide protocol considering that we are the median
between doctors and their patients, sometimes we are the only people they think to call for help.
05/2017 to 08/2018- Optometry Technician
Visionworks- Tampa, FL 33612
While working under an O.D, my job was to make sure that the patients were well taken care of.
From the moment the patient entered the office I greeted them, went over their paperwork and
insurance information, as well as started the examination for the doctor by pretesting patients. I
also made the appointments for the doctor, by phone or in person. Often during the day I had to
talk to other providers and doctor offices to fax back and forth important and needed documents.
I also handled the payments and copays from patients for the doctor. Lastly, I checked out every
patient and made sure they understood their aftercare and referrals if one was given to the
patient.
06/2016 to 02/2018- Pharmacy Technician
CVS- Riverview, FL 33579
My responsibility as a Pharmacy Tech consisted of making sure every customer got the help that
they needed. I made patient outreach calls to remind them about their prescriptions that needed
filling or were out of refills. I also dealt with insurance by putting in all of the patient’s
information into the computer or sometimes having to call the actual insurance company. I
pulled out-of-dates and return to stocks every day at a certain time as well. When I wasn’t on the
phone with a patient or pulling things off the shelves, I was interacting face to face with a
customer. I looked them up in the system and verified their personal information before handing
out their prescription. Lastly, I filled prescriptions by counting out medicine into the appropriate
dosage and packaging it for verification by the Pharmacist.
09/2015 – 06/2016 Cashier
CVS- Riverview, FL 33579
While being a cashier for CVS, I did more than just checking people out. I did a lot of book
work. I did inventory, signed in vendors, damaged out products, return to stock, money orders,
and photos.
