“I honestly believe that I wouldn’t have made

it through my cancer treatment if it weren’t
for this community and their love, support,
and camaraderie.” – Suleika Jaouad
Three Questions

1. What is the goal of the document?
The goal of the document is to provide hope, support and inspiration for anyone affected by
cancer, both directly and indirectly. We want to provide valuable information as well for our
audience, so that they have an organization they can rely on to help them and actually care about
what happens to them. We also want this document to be circulated and exposed to the public so
that perhaps donors or other organizations would like to help Cancer for College financially.

2. What is the main message?
The main message of the newsletter is to provide not only important, helpful and accurate
information about cancer, but to also shine light on the collaboration between Cancer for College
and Animal Friends of the Valleys, an establishment which prides itself on giving animals a loving
home, while giving back the community as well.

3. To whom are we writing?
We are writing for a wide audience because cancer does not pick and choose its victims or the
people that it affects and hurts. Thus, the audience would be anyone affected by cancer, whether
that be cancer patients, cancer survivors, families of cancer patients/survivors, friends,
acquaintances, doctors, mentors, etc. We want our main message to reach individuals like donors,
families of cancer patients/survivors, researchers, students, scientists and psychologists, so that
more research can be done to help find a cure for cancer. Cancer is difficult for all those affected
by it and this newsletter is published to help and support those going through a hard time.
