• Lan card - is a network interface card. This is a computer
circuit board or card that is installed in a computer so that it
can be connected to a network.

• Server - is a part of a network.

It is a special computer that users
on the network can access to carry
out a particular job.
• Port hub/port - is a connector on the back of a
computer or other devices. A port is either a serial port or a
parallel port.

• Modem - (modulator-demodulator) The modem is

a device that allows a given computer to share data or
otherwise a device which let computers exchange
information .
• Scanner - It is an input device that read text or
illustration printed on paper, translates the information
into a form that a computer can use.

• USB – Universal Serial Bus, a hardware interface for low-

speed peripherals such as the keyboard, mouse, joystick,
scanner, printer and telephony devices.
• Printer - is a piece of hardware that produces a paper copy
(also known as ‘hardcopy’) of the information generated by
the computer.

• Ram - Random Access Memory, is a primary memory. This

memory is used inside the computer to hold programs and
data while it is running.
• BIOS - Basic Input / Output System, chip that controls the
most basic functions of the computer and performs a self-test
every time you turn it on.

• Flash drive – RAM that can retain data without electrical

power. It is widely used for BIOS chips and digital camera
and digital music storage.

• Video Camera - Camera using videotape: a camera that

records onto videotape.
• UPS (uninterruptible power supply), a power
supply that includes a battery to maintain power in the event
of a power outage. Typically, a UPS keeps
a computer running for several minutes after a power outage,
enabling you to save data that is in RAM and shut down the
computer gracefully. Many UPSs now offer a software
component that enables you to automate backup and shut
down procedures in case there's a power failure while you're
away from the computer.
• Fax machine - Short for facsimile machine, a device that can
send or receive pictures and text over a telephone line. Fax
machines work by digitizing an image -- dividing it into a grid
of dots. Each dot is either on or off, depending on whether it is
black or white. Electronically, each dot is represented by
a bit that has a value of either 0 (off) or 1 (on). In this way, the
fax machine translates a picture into a series of zeros and ones
(called a bit map) that can be transmitted like
normal computer data. On the receiving side, a fax
machine reads the incoming data, translates the zeros and ones
back into dots, and reprints the picture.
• Screwdriver (standard) or flat screw driver - Is used to
drive fasten negative slotted screws.

• Screwdriver (Philips) or cross-head screwdriver - is

used to drive or fasten slotted screws.
• Multitester - a multimeter or a multitester, also known as a VOM
(Volt-Ohm meter or Volt-Ohm-milliammeter ), is an electronic measuring
instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A
typical multimeter would include basic features such as the ability to
measure voltage, current, and resistance.
• Allen wrench - An Allen wrench is one of the simplest wrenches to
use. The Allen wrench itself is a small L-shaped wrench with six sides. If
you look at a cross-section of the Allen wrench, it looks like a hexagon.
Since the Allen wrench has such a specific shape, it can only be used with
items especially designed for it. If you've ever bought furniture you've had
to put together yourself, the manufacturer likely included an Allen wrench
for you to use when you have to assemble it.
• Crimping tools - A crimping tool is a device used to conjoin
two pieces of metal by deforming one or both of them in a way
that causes them to hold each other. The result of the tool's
work is called a crimp. A good example of crimping is the
process of affixing a connector to the end of a cable. For
instance, network cables and phone cables are created using a
crimping tool (shown below) to join the RJ-45 and RJ-
11 connectors to the both ends of either phone or CAT5 cable.
• Wire stripper - A wire stripper is a small, hand-held device used
to strip the electrical insulation from electric wires.

• Mechanical pliers - Pliers are a hand tool used to hold objects

firmly, possibly developed from tongs used to handle hot metal in Bronze
Age Europe. They are also useful for bending and compressing a wide range
of materials. Generally, pliers consist of a pair of metal first-class
levers joined at a fulcrum positioned closer to one end of the levers, creating
short jaws on one side of the fulcrum, and longer handles on the other side.
This arrangement creates a mechanical advantage, allowing the force of
the hand's grip to be amplified and focused on an object with precision. The
jaws can also be used to manipulate objects too small or unwieldy to be
manipulated with the fingers.
• Anti static wrist strap - An antistatic wrist strap, ESD wrist strap,
or ground bracelet is an antistatic device used to safely ground a person
working on very sensitive electronic equipment, to prevent the buildup
of static electricity on their body, which can result in electrostatic
discharge (ESD). It is used in the electronics industry by workers working on
electronic devices which can be damaged by ESD, and also sometimes by
people working around explosives, to prevent electric sparks which could set
off an explosion. It consists of an elastic band of fabric with
fine conductive fibers woven into it, attached to a wire with a clip on the end
to connect it to a ground conductor. The fibers are usually made of carbon or
carbon-filled rubber, and the strap is bound with a stainless steel clasp or
plate. They are usually used in conjunction with an antistatic mat on the
workbench, or a special static-dissipating plastic laminate on the workbench
surface.
• Lan tester - LAN testers cover the fields of installation and network
control. These LAN tester can be used in the work LAN Network Tester
and are ideal for technical service professionals and network
administrators. These LAN testers can determine IP addresses, identify
polarity, connected port and link connectivity. Furthermore, they can test
fibre optic cables. It can also show cable break points, incorrect
connections in fibre optic lines. All this in a large pen design. With these
LAN testers you can test the state of LAN network connections to Hubs
and Switches and can analyse the traffic of a network and which IP it
generates.
• Long nose pliers - is used for holding, bending and
stretching the lead of electronics component or connecting
wire.

• Soldering Iron - is used to join two or more metal conductors

with the support of soldering lead melted around it.

• Desoldering Tool - is used to unsolder unwanted parts or

component in the circuit with the support of soldering pencil.
• Software applications - Application software (an application) is a
set of computer programs designed to permit the user to perform a group
of coordinated functions, tasks, or activities. Application software cannot
run on itself but is dependent on system software to execute. Examples of
an application include a word processor, a spreadsheet design and
management system, an aeronautical flight simulator, a console game, a
drawing, painting, and illustrating system, or a library management
system.
• UTP (unshielded twisted pair) - is a popular type of cable
used in computer networking that consists of two shielded wires around
each.
• RJ 45 - J45 (telecommunications), a connector standardized
as the 8P8C modular connector (and the similar RJ45S with a
keyed 8P2C).
RJ45 (computers), an unkeyed 8P8C modular connector used
for Ethernet computer network cables (incorrectly referred to as
RJ45).
