I have worked as a team leader and member of several groups, predominantly in academic

settings. My most recent working experience as Director of Studies of a language school

network gave me the possibility to deal directly with customers (students and their families)
and provide feedback to their queries. I had to closely follow the enrolment processes for four
academic years and promote courses, workshops and other relevant materials and events to a
wide range of prospective students (children, adolescents and adults).

Extremely relevant to this position is my experience working as a library assistant at the Regent
Library (University of Westminster) during my Master's. I worked there part-time (10-15 hours
per week) and some of my responsibilities included:

- Working as the first point of contact for students and visitors

- Handle and resolve queries related to library services and IT

- Organising and shelving returned books and materials

- Update the library system (inputting new titles and removing those being relocated)

- Overviewing the correct functioning of computers and printers

- Assist in any other activities or events organised by or in the library.

My experience as a researcher has enabled me to fine-tune some skills that are particularly
relevant to university students, such as:

- Library database searching (including books, e-books, reference materials, journals,

conference proceedings, theses, manuscripts, dictionaries, etc.)

- SCONUL, Shibboleth, Open Athens, EThOS access

- Using referencing software (Mendeley, EndNote)

- Requesting new titles/materials

I have attended several sessions on advanced library search strategies during my MA (as a
student and library assistant) and now during my PhD.

My background as a teacher working with small and large, multicultural groups in different
countries (Cuba, Hungary, UK) has given me the opportunity to systematically reflect on my
communication and interpersonal skills and devise strategies to improve them.
I have become well-versed in software (Office suite, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign,
SQL for databases, Python) that support managing, analysing and presenting information in a
more efficient way.

As stated previously, I have worked in small and larger teams and have had different roles in
them. I feel comfortable with responsibilities and can work independently.

I am currently working on my PhD research for the Open University (Milton Keynes) but I am
based in London (W9). My purpose is to gain more working experience in London while I
continue my studies, and because of the positive time I spent at the library during my
Master's, I believe this post is a perfect complement for my research hours.

My schedule is very flexible. I only travel to Milton Keynes for supervisory meetings and other
appointments, but these tend to happen once a week, so I am able to commit to the hours
required by the post.

I am in good physical health and exercise regularly so I am comfortable with physically

demanding activities.
