ARTICLE IV THE TEACHER AND THE PROFESSION SEC.

5: Every teacher shall use


the teaching profession in a manner that makes it a dignified means of earning a decent
living.

(BEING A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER IS A SERIOUS MATTER. THEY MUST LOVE


AND EMBRACE THEIR PROFESSION WHOLEHEARTEDLY. IN ADDITION TO THAT,
THEY MUST BE DEDICATED FOR IT IS PART OF THEIR PRIDE. EVERY TEACHER
MUST HAVE THIS ATTITUDE OF HAVING AN OPEN MIND WHILE BEING AWARE OF
CONTINUOUS GROWTH FOR BETTERMENT.)

ARTICLE V.

SEC. 3: Before leaving his position, a teacher shall organize and leave to his successor
such records and other date necessary to carry on the work.

(IN TIMES OF RESIGNING OR LEAVING YOUR WORK AS A TEACHER, ALL


RECORDS COPY FOR THE STUDENTS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE NEXT
TEACHER WHO WILL BE SUBSTITUTED TO HIM/HER)

ARTICLE VI

SEC. 1: A teacher shall not make false accusation or charges against superiors,
especially under anonymity. However, if there are valid charges, he should present such
under oath to competent authority.

(TEACHERS MUST BE HONEST AND RESPECTFUL. THEY ARE ALSO EXPECTED


TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND MUST UNDERSTAND THE POLICIES
IMPLEMENTED IN THE SCHOOL WHICH THEY ARE WORKING WITH. THEY SHALL
NOT MAKE ANY FALSE ACCUSATIONS UNLESS THEY FIND FAULTS OR
INJUSTICE OR SUPERIORS, IN THAT CASE THEY MUST SPEAK OR RAISE THEIR
GRIEVANCES WITHIN DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.)

ARTICLE 7 SEC. 4: no school official shall dismiss or recommend for dismissal a


teacher or other subordinates except for the cause.

(ANY PERSONNEL OR A OFFICIAL SHALL NOT RECOMMEND A TEACHER TO BE


DISMISSED, FOR EXAMPLE IF A SCHOOL OFFICIAL HAS A PERSONAL HATE TO A
TEACHER, THEN HE/SHE WOULD REQUEST FOR A DISMISSAL OF A TEACHER
TO THE HIGHER OFFICIALS. ONE MUST MAINTAIN PROFESSIONALISM AND IT
DOES NOT INCLUDE PERSONAL ISSUES)
ARTICLE 8 SEC.4: a teacher shall not accept favors or gifts from learners, their parents
or other in their behalf in exchange for requested concessions, especially if undeserved.

THE TEACHERS MUST BE FAIR TO THEIR STUDENTS. THEY SHALL RECOGNIZE


THAT THE INTEREST AND WELFARE OF THE LEARNERS AS THEIR FIRST AND
FOREMOST CONCERN, AND SHALL HANDLE EACH LEARNERS JUSTLY AND
IMPARTIALLY. ALSO, THEY ARE TO INSURE THAT THE MAXIMUM DEVELOPMENT
OF LEARNERS IS ADEQUATE. AS SECOND PARENTS, THEY MUST EXTEND
NEEDED ASSISTANCE BY PREVENTING AND SOLVING LEARNERS’ PROBLEMS
AND DIFFICULTIES.
(IN ORDER FOR THE CONFLICT TO BE RESOLVED OR A TWO STUDENTS
QUARRELED AND ONE OF THE PARENTS OF THE STUDENTS WHO CAUSED THE
ISSUE WANTED TO RESOLVED IT BY GIVING GIFTS, MONEY OR A FAVOR, THE
TEACHER SHOULD NOT ACCEPT AS BEING PROFESSIONAL, HONEST AND
RESPECTFUL TEACHER MUST RETAIN AND MAINTAIN)

ARTICLE IX SEC. 3 a teacher shall hear parents’ complaints with sympathy and
understanding and shall discourage unfair criticism.

(TEACHERS MUST KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE PARENTS OF THEIR LEARNERS


BY BUILDING A GOOD RELATIONSHIP VIA COMMUNICATION. IT WILL BUILD A
BETTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THEM WHICH WILL HELP WITH THE
LEARNERS’ DEVELOPMENT AND WILL DIMINISH UNFAIR CRITICISM.)

ARTICLE X SEC. 1: a teacher has a right to engage, directly and indirectly, in legitimate
income generation, provided that it does not relate to or adversely affect his work.

(EVERY TEACHER HAS THE RIGHT TO DO BUSINESS AS LONG AS IT’S NOT


AFFECTING HIS/HER WORK. THEY SHOULD ALSO MAINTAIN A GOOD
REPUTATION WITH RESPECT TO FINANCIAL MATTERS.)

ARTICLE XI SEC. 1: a teacher shall live with dignity in all places at all times.

(TEACHERS MUST ALWAYS LOOK UP TO ALMIGHTY GOD OR BEING AS THEIR


GUIDE OF THEIR OWN DESTINY. THEY SHOULD ALSO LIVE WITH DIGNITY. AND
AS A POWERFUL ROLE-MODEL TO THE COMMUNITY, THEY MUST LIVE WITH A
VERY GOOD PERSONALITY AND BE AN INSPIRATION TO PEOPLE AROUND
THEM.)

ARTICLE XII: SECTION 1: Any violation of any provision of his code shall be sufficient
ground for the imposition against the erring teacher of disciplinary action consisting of
revocation of his certificate of registration and license as professional teacher,
suspension from the practice of the teaching profession, reprimand, or cancellation of
his temporary/special permit under causes specified in sec. 23. Article 3 or r.a no. 7836,
and under rule 31, article 8 of the rules and regulations implementing r.a no. 7836.

(ANY VIOLATION OF ANY PROVISION OF THIS CODE SHALL BE SUFFICIENT


GROUND FOR THE IMPOSITION AGAINST THE ERRING TEACHER OF THE
DISCIPLINARY ACTION CONSISTING OF REVOCATION OF HIS CERTIFICATION
OF REGISTRATION AND LICENSE AS A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER, SUSPENSION
FROM THE PRACTICE OF TEACHING PROFESSION, OR REPRIMAND OR
CANCELLATION OF HIS TEMPORARY/SPECIAL PERMIT UNDER CAUSES
SPECIFIED IN SEC. 23, ARTICLE III OR R.A. NO. 7836, AND UNDER RULE 31,
ARTICLE VIII, OF THE RULES AND REGULATIONS IMPLEMENTING R.A. 7836.)

ARTICLE XIII. SEC. .1 this code shall be approved by the professional regulation
commission and shall take effect sixty (60) days following its publication in the official
gazette or any newspaper of general circulation, whichever is earlier.

(THIS CODE SHALL TAKE EFFECT UPON APPROVAL BY THE PROFESSIONAL


REGULATION COMMISSION AND AFTER SIXTY (60) DAYS FOLLOWING ITS
PUBLICATION IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE OR ANY NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL
CIRCULATION, WHICHEVER IS EARLIER.)
