NOTICE

Subject:- Provisional shortlisting under ‘hearing impairment’ subcategory of

Physically Handicapped Category candidates for the posts of Naib
Tehsildar-Schedule for interview and Counselling-cum-Document
Verification.

Whereas, the J&K Services Selection Board had advertised posts

of Naib Tehsildar, (Revenue Department), State Cadre, vide Advertisement
Notice No.01 of 2015 dated 07.04.2015 (Item No.007).

Whereas, based on written examination, shortlist of the said

examination, for calling candidates for Interview and Counselling-cum-
Document Verification was notified vide Notice issued under endorsement
No.SSB/Secy/Sel/2018/10931-39 dated 14.11.2018, which, inter-alia,
included the shortlist of candidates called for Interview and Counselling-cum-
Document Verification in Physically Handicapped Category.

Whereas, the Board at the time of inviting applications during

2015 had not obtained the subcategory-wise details of the candidates in
Physically Handicapped Category, as a result the Board was not able to
shortlist candidates strictly as per subcategories in the Physically
Handicapped Category and instead the shortlist was notified strictly as per
merit obtained by the candidates in the written examination in the Physically
Handicapped Category.

Whereas, it was thought proper to establish during the

Counselling-cum-Document Verification process as to whether, all the
subcategories under Physically Handicapped Category have been represented
in the short-listing, as the posts allocable under Physically Handicapped
Category necessitate allocation of at least one post for each subcategory in
terms of rules applicable for Physically Handicapped Category.

Whereas, the Convenor of Interview and Counselling-cum-

Document Verification has informed that it has been observed during the
Interview and Counselling-cum-Document Verification process of Physically
Handicapped Category candidates that only two sub-categories relating to
locomotor and vision, are figuring in the shortlist of Physically Handicapped
Category therein and no candidate with ‘hearing impairment’ was found.

Whereas, to align the shortlist of Physically Handicapped Category

with applicable rules, the matter was placed before the Board in its
extraordinary meeting held on 03.01.2019, and it was decided that in
absence of availability of data about subcategories under the Physically
Handicapped Category with the Board, the Board may seek claims of all the
candidates who would qualify for consideration under the ‘hearing
impairment’ subcategory of Physically Handicapped Category, so that out of
all claims so received, the required number of candidates of the said
subcategory, strictly on the basis of merit, are shortlisted and called for
Interview and Counselling-cum-Document Verification at an earliest.

Whereas, accordingly vide Notice No. SSB/Sel/Secy/2019/76-84

date 04.01.2019, claims were invited from the candidates under the said Sub
Category of Physically Handicapped Category and 06 candidates with genuine
claims have filed their claims/made representations within the stipulated
time. These candidates include:-

Now, keeping in view the Board decision in the matter and the number
of posts (05) for Physically Handicapped Category, 08 candidates of this Sub
Category can be included in the provisional shortlist. Since only 06 candidates
have staked their claims, all these above 06 candidates are provisionally
shortlisted for the post of Naib Tehsildar, (Revenue Department), State
Cadre, vide Advertisement Notice No.01 of 2015 dated 07.04.2015 (Item
No.007) and are hereby informed to appear in the Interview and
Counselling-Cum-Document Verification which shall be held on 12th January
2019 at 2.00 PM at Central Office, JKSSB Sehkari Bhawan, Rail Head,
Jammu, alongwith all the details and documents prescribed vide Notice No
SSB/Secy/Sel/2018/10931-39 Dated 14.11.2018, failing which no claim in
this regard shall be entertained.
