Essay Reflection

1. Was this essay easy or difficult for you? Why?

2. How did you come up with your thesis?

3. Would you change it now that we have held our paideia? Why or why not?

The assignment was to write an essay answering the prompt How can persuasive writing
and speaking advance the progress towards equality and social justice. I believe I meet the
expectations of the rubric successfully because I was able to establish my point by writing an
essay and participating in the paidai using evidence that backs me up. I was well prepared while
completing this assignment because I completed the paidai sheet with textual evidence that I was
able to use during the discussion. Reflecting on my discussion something I would do differently
is asking a different question to the class before the timer runs out. Something I would do
differently during the pre-work is I will pick stronger pieces of evidences that connect better with
my ideas.
Yes, this essay was difficult for me because I had trouble on organization. Next time I
face a similar situation I will be more organized by gathering my thoughts first following up with
quotes from the text that directly connect with my claim. I came up with my thesis by gathering
information from all three people and adding my own personal opinion answering the question.
No I would not change after holding the paidai. Im strongly holding on to my personal opinion
because I believe I used reasonable textual evidence that's able to support my thinking.
